Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk. The Auth0 platform secures more than 100 million logins each day for customers all around the world - and we're growing fast! The Platform Runtime team enables Auth0 engineers to move faster by giving them the foundational infrastructure to deploy and manage their services on AWS and Azure. This is a role with a huge impact. You will get to work with engineers throughout the organization and what you build will be a foundational piece of the infrastructure that allows Auth0 to scale for years to come. We are looking for a Senior Engineer who is passionate about distributed systems, availability, and delivering customer value. Because we build and support the overall Auth0 platform, the ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about low level infrastructure, operations, and not intimidated by cross-organization coordination and collaboration. YOU WILL: * Serve as the ultimate technical authority and final escalation point for advanced Kubernetes cluster troubleshooting, ensuring the continuous stability and resilience of our foundational infrastructure. * Define and enforce organization-wide standards and architectural guidelines for Terraform. You will maintain core provider functionality and oversee critical security protocols, including automated credential rotation machinery. * Develop and maintain application deployment standards, managing Kustomize and built-ins to standardize and streamline deployments across all product teams. * Orchestrate complex GitOps workflows leveraging ArgoCD and Argo Workflows. You will take full ownership of Environment Lifecycle Management, handling everything from environment creation, synchronization, and user onboarding to failover procedures and safe deletion. * Architect the Testing Automation Framework to support dynamic environment provisioning and destruction. This will enable advanced quality assurance practices, such as chaos testing, while empowering teams to manage their own test workflows. * Oversee the Control Plane infrastructure, guaranteeing operational stability and managing essential platform services, including HashiCorp Vault and our fleet of self-hosted GitHub Action Runners. * Lead the intra-space network architecture, driving the implementation, management, and scaling of our Service Mesh to ensure secure and efficient service-to-service communication. * Participate in the team's on-call rotation. YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU: * Have 5+ years of software development experience, specifically working with infrastructure or platform. * Are proficient in Golang. * Have a deep understanding of Kubernetes and containerization. * Have DevOps experience using cloud-agnostic, cloud-native technologies. * Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP and HTTP fundamentals. * Have demonstrable expertise managing cloud resources (AWS/Azure) via code, specifically for automated provisioning. * Have experience managing infrastructure with Terraform at scale. * Bring a Tier-1 Service mindset: you write code that handles edge cases, network partitions, and partial failures gracefully. * Tend to deliver work incrementally to get feedback and iterate over solutions. * Have a passion for working on systems that are highly reliable, maintainable, scalable and secure. * Bring the right attitude to the team: ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. * Are comfortable working on a fully-distributed team. * Have a relentless passion for ownership, accountability, and diving into complexity to deliver highly reliable and performant systems. EXTRA POINTS: * Significant experience with PostgreSQL for managing complex, relational entity state. * Experience building custom Kubernetes controllers or extending Terraform providers. * Familiarity with gRPC for high-performance internal service communication. #LI-Hybrid P24752 Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. YOUR MISSION * You are part of our dedicated Platform team, building and operating the foundation that every product team at casavi builds on. * With the team, you own and evolve our platform: from core product features every team builds on, like Auth, I18n, Feature Flags, and so on, to infrastructure, with our AWS setup, Kubernetes clusters, GitOps workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), working with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI/CD, while monitoring system health with Prometheus & Grafana. * Your main personal focus is Application Security: making sure our product stays robust and reliable in the face of modern growing security threats, via comprehensive automated quality gates, regular security testing being done as a practice, strong security standards embedded in the SDLC of our teams, and appropriate instrumentation of the AI Coding Assistant tooling our team is using. * You also bake security into our infrastructure, implementing automated vulnerability scanning, secure secrets management, and Policy-as-Code guardrails so that shipping securely is always the path of least resistance. * You harden our cloud environments, ensuring robust IAM configurations, network policies, and foundational security baselines are continuously enforced. * You collaborate closely with fellow engineers across the Platform team and with product teams, bringing your ideas to make our platform more reliable, scalable, and easy to build on. YOUR PROFILE * You have several years of experience working with TypeScript (our tech stack includes Node.js, REST API, MySQL, MongoDB, Nest.js, React) and, ideally, also Python (our Python stack: Flask, FastAPI, MongoDB). * You care about Application Security deeply and have a proven track record of establishing secure SDLC in software engineering teams. * You have proven hands-on experience running production Kubernetes clusters and managing cloud infrastructure. You know AWS, Terraform, Helm, GitOps (ideally ArgoCD), and CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitLab CI). * You understand cloud-native security principles and have experience securing pipelines, container images, and infrastructure (e.g., using AWS Secrets Manager, Vault, Trivy, Snyk, or similar tooling). * You are a power user of AI-based tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, etc.), and you know how to use them to build lightweight internal tooling and automation safely and responsibly. * You'd rather script and orchestrate an agentic workflow than stand up a heavyweight developer portal. * You have excellent analytical & problem-solving skills and enjoy owning problems end-to-end, from root cause to fix. * Ideally, you have strong experience with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana) and monitoring production systems. * You are a strong communicator, and your English is at a very good level (>C1). * You live in Germany. CONDITIONS & BENEFITS * An open-minded and friendly team working with agile methods - as proven by our Kununu Score of 4,6 * Flexible & hybrid working * 40 days of workation per year in the EU * Company events & sports offers * Corporate benefits * Company pension scheme * Childcare allowance * EGYM Wellpass membership discount * Diverse development opportunities and a continuing education budget YOU WANT TO BE PART OF OUR SUCCESS STORY? We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam. Team: Plaid is becoming an AI-first company, and Intelligent Tooling builds internal platforms and tools to lead the transformation. Our biggest opportunity isn't just better tools for engineers, it's extending AI-native internal tooling to the rest of Plaid. Tools built for engineers assume things non-engineers don't have: local toolchains, monorepos, engineer credentials, PR-based workflows. That mismatch means Ops, Support, and other teams can't easily inherit what we build for engineering. They need their own path and we're building that path. Role: As a Senior Software Engineer on Intelligent Tooling, you will build and operate internal systems that empower non engineering teams to automate their workflows with AI. You will own the product and platform layer for internal tools, including the constraints and infrastructure that keep those tools safe and maintainable. There's no existing playbook for this at Plaid. You will define what the right non-eng AI surface looks like, ship its first durable versions, and partner closely with internal users to make sure it solves real problems. You will act as the engineering point of contact embedded with non-engineering teams, running discovery and translating their operational needs into shipped software. What you build here becomes how non-engineering teams at Plaid work with AI. Responsibilities: * Design, build, and operate internal tools and platform capabilities for high-leverage non-engineering workflows * Translate ambiguous internal pain points into simple, durable software products * Define platform constraints for auth, runtime, storage, deployment, and maintenance so internal tools are safe for broader use * Build with strong product judgment, balancing flexibility with clear boundaries between what belongs in Retool, Scaffold, and a new AI-native internal tool surface * Partner with Security, Infrastructure, and internal stakeholder teams to ship systems that are reliable in production * Own systems end-to-end, including implementation, rollout, support, and iterative improvement Qualifications: Must have: * 5+ years of professional software engineering experience * Strong experience building and operating production systems * Experience building internal tools, platforms, or workflow software * Strong product judgment and communication in ambiguous spaces * Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools, agents, or automation * Strong builder mindset; comfortable creating the first version of a product surface that does not yet have a clear industry template Nice to have: * Experience with developer tooling, internal platforms, or infra-adjacent systems * Experience with auth, service accounts, constrained runtimes, or internal security boundaries * Experience building products for non-engineering users * Exposure to agentic workflows, automation, or AI-enabled internal applications Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences. We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid! Plaid is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company. We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion or religious belief, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, sexual stereotypes, age, military or veteran status, disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics. We also consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Plaid is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities in our recruiting process. If you need any assistance with your application or interviews due to a disability, please let us know at accommodations@plaid.com. Please review our Candidate Privacy Notice here. Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
