About the role
We currently have a vacancy for an Accounting Specialist to join our team at Trieste.
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with a strong background in accounts payable
management and solid, specific expertise in VAT.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic finance team - comprising the Finance Manager and five colleagues - and will take
full ownership of the accounts payable cycle, ensuring independent management and strict compliance with tax regulations.
About you
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated professional with a solid educational background - ideally holding a bachelor’s degree
in a related field - and 3 to 5 years of experience as an Accounting Specialist within an international environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation and mediation skills, combined with a deep understanding of Italian accounting
regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office tools and Accounting Information Systems is essential, as is fluency in English.
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 will be considered a strong advantage, while knowledge of free port areas would be a
valuable plus.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support entity-level accounting for Toast's India operations. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close, and compliance with local statutory requirements. Working closely with the Accounting Manager and global finance teams, you will assist with general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting, audits, and continuous process improvements in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A day in the life (Responsibilities) * Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for Toast's India entities by preparing journal entries and ensuring timely completion of close activities. * Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, employee-related accounts, and intercompany balances. * Perform detailed variance analysis and investigate unusual account movements to ensure accuracy and completeness. * Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with Ind AS, local statutory requirements, and Toast accounting policies. * Support statutory audits, tax audits, and regulatory filings by preparing audit schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests. * Partner with Payroll, Tax, FP&A, Legal, and Global Accounting teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of business transactions. * Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with internal control requirements. * Assist with SOX compliance activities, including control documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts. * Support fixed asset accounting, intercompany accounting, and other entity-level accounting activities as required. * Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency through automation and standardization. * Participate in finance transformation initiatives, system implementations, and other ad hoc projects. What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) * Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com) or CA Intermediate. * 1 to 2 years of experience in financial accounting, general ledger accounting, or record-to-report (R2R) functions. * Good understanding of accounting principles, Ind AS, and Indian statutory compliance requirements. * Experience supporting month-end close and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP is preferred. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. * Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new processes and systems. * This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the Chennai office.
