A Primer payment is worth so much more than a regular payment.
In the Orchestration team we build the engine that powers intelligent, seamless, and reliable payments — across any provider,
method, or market. We own the full orchestration layer: routing decisions, fallback logic, and the smart infrastructure that makes
every payment perform at its best.
This team covers everything from checkout and payment processing through to tokenization, authentication, fallback logic,
developer tooling, and workflows.

We're building a culture where people can do their best work and be proud of the impact they have. You'll be working with people
who are mission-driven, smart, and reflective, and who are genuinely invested in building exceptional products and delivering
success for our merchants.
We work remotely, and have done since day one. We believe that building a successful, profitable company goes beyond proximity. We
invest in our relationships through great remote working practices and thoughtfully designed face-to-face time, including

meaningful difference between a challenge and a struggle. At Primer, the right challenge comes with the right support: strong
onboarding, a collaborative environment, and a team that is genuinely invested in your success. It's never something you face
alone.

📈 Who We Are: We are rebuilding the energy transaction, making it transparent and fair. Our goal is to put power back where it belongs, in the hands of customers and to take on one of the most critical problems of our century, access to low cost electricity. tem exists to fix a broken global energy market that’s long favoured legacy operators, intermediaries, and opaque pricing. Today’s electricity system was not designed for rapid decarbonisation, AI-driven efficiency or fair access for the actual users - businesses and generators. We’ve built the first AI native transaction infrastructure to reinvent how electricity is bought, sold and priced. Our technology is designed to cut out the inefficient fees, automate complex market flows, and bring transparency and fairness to energy transactions at scale. In late 2025, after extraordinary growth, we closed a $75 million Series B - led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Albion, Atomico, Allianz, Hitachi Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Schroders Capital and others - positioning us for global expansion, deeper product innovation and category leadership. We’re scaling internationally and building toward a future where AI-driven infrastructure is foundational to electricity markets worldwide. Since launch, our modern utility product, known as RED, has already facilitated thousands of business customers and billions in energy transaction value, proving that modern software and AI can transform an industry built on legacy systems. At tem, we’re not just building another energy company, we’re rearchitecting market infrastructure so that transparency, efficiency and sustainability become the default, not the exception. 🏅 THE ROLE: We're hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Origination & New Products. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a people-management one. You'll lead the Origination & New Products squad through ambiguous, no-precedent build work - deep Rosso integration, pricing capability, and deal-gating risk tooling. You won't own hiring, performance, or comp for anyone in the squad; you'll lead through technical direction, judgement, and execution. Beyond the squad, you'll be a strategic partner to the Engineering Manager, turning company-level targets into engineering outcomes - starting with growing origination volume through new products over the first 12 months, and later supporting the team as Sell Side expands internationally. You'll lead a new three person squad to help you deliver your goals. You will: * Own the delivery for new product categories * Lead technically through execution - design, build, and ship alongside the squad, not just direct it. * Translate ambiguous, commercially-driven problems into a shape the squad can deliver against. * Partner with commercial and product stakeholders to keep new-product work tied to real pipeline outcomes. * Mentor the squad's engineers and raise technical standards, without owning their performance or career progression. You will report into the Engineering Manager, Sell Side. 🚀 RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead through execution * Drive the Origination & New Products squad's technical direction on deep integrations with other internal services * Stay hands-on: design, build, and review the hardest parts of the new-product build sequence yourself. * Take a company target ("grow origination volume through new products") and break it into a sequenced, deliverable plan without needing to be told how. Build for ambiguity and risk * Design systems for categories that don't exist yet at tem - Unlocking TWh’s of new pipeline - where the spec is being written as you go. * Make judgement calls on commercial risk in deal-gating tooling, not just deliver what's asked. * Prevent domain drift as new product categories are added, keeping shared language and clear boundaries. Partner beyond the squad * Work directly with the Engineering Manager and commercial stakeholders to keep new-product delivery tied to origination pipeline outcomes, not just shipped features. * As Sell Side expands internationally, represent the technical view in conversations with new-market stakeholders and partners. * Mentor engineers in the squad and raise engineering standards, while staying on the individual-contributor track. 🎯 REQUIREMENTS: Must haves * Proven technical leadership at Staff or Senior Staff level, with evidence of leading complex, ambiguous initiatives to real business impact - not just technical execution in isolation. * Comfort operating without a spec: able to take a broad, undefined opportunity and shape it into something buildable. * Sound commercial judgement - able to reason about deal risk and revenue impact, not just delivery. * Deep enough platform fluency to integrate against a complex, business-critical system * Track record leading a squad or team technically through direction and mentorship, without necessarily holding formal people-management responsibility. * Strong written and verbal communication - comfortable being the technical voice in front of commercial stakeholders and, over time, external partners. * Comfortable in our core stack: Python, AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge), and event-driven architectures - the same stack Rosso and the rest of Sell Side build on. Bonus points * Experience in energy, fintech, or another regulated, high-stakes commercial domain. * Experience taking a product or company into a new international market. * Exposure to workflow orchestration, event-driven systems, or real-time pricing engines. * Experience originating new product lines from scratch rather than only scaling existing ones. ✨ BENEFITS & PERKS: * Competitive salary - our current band for this role is £117,850 or equivalent in local currency. * We review salaries twice a year using real-time market data, with transparent, consistent pay for the same role and level. * Stock Options - everyone on the team has ownership in our mission. * 25 days holiday + public holidays - Swap public holidays for ones that matter most to you. Plus, get an extra day off for your birthday 🎉. * Remote & flexible working - We’re fully remote with clear core hours, and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons. * Home working & wellbeing budgets: * Up to £1,200 / €1,200 annually to upgrade your remote setup (co-working passes, equipment, etc.). * Up to £150 / €150 monthly on anything that supports your wellbeing - from therapy to gym memberships to meditation apps. 🗣️ INTERVIEW PROCESS: Our processes normally take around 2-3 weeks from first call to offer - please let us know about any adjustments to timelines that may be required. 1. First call with our Talent Team (30 Mins). This is to understand your experience, motivations, and discuss the role in more detail. 2. Behaviour Interview with our Engineering Managers (60 Mins). This is your chance to really understand the role, the expectations, and ensure alignment on ways of working. 3. Technical Interview with the Team (75 Mins). You’ll meet with potential peers in this session and will discuss technical topics and experiences. 4. Culture-Add Interview with Stakeholders (45 Mins). The final session will be with two cross-functional stakeholders, and will explore how your values align with ours, and is designed to be a genuine two-way conversation, your chance to understand what it’s really like to work at tem. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities, including those that are traditionally underrepresented in the tech and energy sectors. If you’re excited about this role but not sure you meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you. Your unique perspective could be exactly what we’re looking for.
At DATAPAO, data ignites passion, community fuels collaboration, and growth knows no bounds. We are a leading Data Engineering and AI consulting company backed by Databricks and recognized for our unmatched delivery standards and rapid growth. We have been named Databricks EMEA Emerging Business Partner of the Year (2024), achieved the Golden Tier status in the Databricks Partner Program, and made three consecutive appearances on the Financial Times FT1000 list. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us remotely in the UK as we plan to set up a hub in the UK in the following 6-12 months to enable our GTM strategy. You will work with our EMEA and US customers to help them solve their data engineering, ML, ML Ops, and cloud migration puzzles. "As a Data Engineer at DATAPAO, you will have the unique opportunity to push the boundaries of technology and lead the way in how data transforms the world. We work with customers who want to innovate and change their industries. So it never gets boring! Sorting out a complex technical puzzle, setting up a new data architecture from scratch, or guiding our customers through adopting the latest technologies is our routine here. Hence, we'd expect you to be more than just a (data) engineer. We'd expect you to breathe and live data, to thrive for knowledge and excellence, and to be keen to build something enduring and impactful for our customers. We'd expect you to be a (data) Paoneer!" (Máté Gulyás, CEO) What will you do? As a Senior Data Engineer, you are expected to deliver (across industries) on some of our most complex projects - individually or by leading small delivery teams. Although we work for the biggest multinational companies where years-long behemoth projects are the norm, our projects are fast-paced, typically 2 to 4 months long. Most are delivered using Apache Spark/Databricks on AWS/Azure and require you to directly manage the customer relationship alone or in collaboration with a Project Manager. Additionally, at this seniority level, we expect you to compound your impact across the team and the organization - by supporting our pre-sales process, mentoring more junior engineers, and contributing to hiring best-in-class data talent. What does it take to fit the bill? Technical Expertise * You (ideally) have 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); * You have a proven track record working with Databricks (PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog); * You have extensive experience in ETL/ELT development and data pipeline orchestration (e.g., Databricks Workflows, DLT, Airflow, ADF, Glue, and Step Functions.); * You’re proficient in SQL and Python, using them to transform and optimize data like a pro; * You know your way around CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep); * You’ve hands-on experience integrating Databricks with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker). Consulting & Client-Facing Skills * Ideally, you bring a proven history in consulting, from scoping to gathering requirements, designing solutions, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. If you bring a product company background with you, that's also fine as long as you can show a good consulting mindset and desire to be customer-facing; * You’ve successfully delivered projects like Data Lakehouse buildouts and cloud data migrations; * You excel in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences and drive decision-making. Operational Readiness & Soft Skills * You’re (almost) ready to hit the ground running, immediately contributing to live client projects; * In a fast-paced consulting environment, where no two days are the same, flexibility and problem-solving comes naturally to you. Furthermore, resilience and thriving on challenges are essential traits in our industry; * Your communication skills are on point—whether you’re writing, speaking, or collaborating with stakeholders, you know how to keep everyone in the loop. WHAT DO WE OFFER? You'll have the rare opportunity to join DATAPAO at a time when you can still meaningfully impact our growth trajectory and organizational success. Furthermore, you’ll also get to spearhead our regional expansion. Surely, we know everyone needs a little something to do their best work. Here is a list of some other extras we offer: * The chance to work remotely - as we don't have a physical office in the UK yet, we offer a fully remote setup for the time being. However, given our strong community emphasis, we'd expect you to spend one month in our Budapest hub during onboarding and visit the office for one week every quarter; * World-class educational benefits - there’s no shortage of learning opportunities at DATAPAO, meaning that you'll get access to Databricks' public and internal courses to learn all the tricks of Distributed Data Processing, MLOps, Apache Spark, Databricks, and Cloud Migration from the best. Additionally, we'll pay for various data & cloud certifications, you'll get dedicated time for learning during work hours, and access to our internal library; * Flexible PTO days - we’re flexible with how many days you take off if that does not conflict with customer success and the work getting done; * 4 weeks of paternity leave - because we think it’s important for both parents to be there when it matters the most; * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - life always happens! And we'd like to be there for you when it counts the most. Through EAP, we offer our employees access to psychology, financial, and legal consulting services via phone or in person; * Pension scheme enrollment and a comprehensive private health insurance plan - offered via our EOR (Employer of Record) provider, Remote.com. Remote will be your official employer in the UK for the foreseeable future until we establish our own legal entity in the UK; * Top-notch working equipment - working comfortably means working well. You will get a MacBook Pro and a sign-up bonus of 500 GBP gross (to be paid with your first payroll) to set up your home office or whatever else is needed to give your best; * The chance to make an impact in a high-transparency culture - open feedback and no politics are things we value a lot at DATAPAO. Additionally, you'll get the chance to work in the field of data & AI and shape the future of a rapidly growing tech company. IMPORTANT NOTE: Given that we are still sorting our ways out in the UK, this list will likely get an update in the following months, and we're also committed to growing it with us over time. The gross salary for this position ranges from 70.000 to 100.000 GBP/year, depending on your assessed seniority level during the selection process. Please note that currently we are unable to support transfer or offer full sponsorship for Skilled Worker visas as we’re just setting foot into the UK. WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT US?
