About the team
Fraud Strategy is responsible for building scaled fraud mitigation systems that prevent fraud and protect the financial ecosystem,
while minimizing disruption to good users. The fraud team’s mission is to protect Stripe, our users, and the broader financial
ecosystem from actors who abuse Stripe accounts for financial gain.
What you’ll do
As a Fraud Strategist, you will be responsible for building strategies to mitigate fraud (buyer fraud, seller fraud and account
fraud) on new and existing Stripe products. You will enable safer money movement for our users and help Stripe manage fraud risks
intelligently. The stakes are high, and you will be up against ever-evolving challenges. You will face some of the most complex
and dynamic problems at the company, and the nature of your work will evolve rapidly to combat new and more sophisticated
challenges to Stripe's integrity in the financial ecosystem.
You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations and other Risk Strategy functions to ensure fraud
controls are embedded in every Stripe product. Beyond protecting against fraud risk, you'll drive innovation in how Stripe
approaches fraud management— staying ahead of emerging fraud trends and pushing the boundaries of what effective, scalable fraud
risk management looks like at a global payments company.

About the team Fraud Strategy is responsible for building scaled fraud mitigation systems that prevent fraud and protect the financial ecosystem, while minimizing disruption to good users. What you’ll do As a Manager on the Fraud Strategy team, you will lead a team of high performing and tenured fraud strategists responsible for safeguarding Stripe’s rapidly expanding portfolio of money movement and money management capabilities from fraud. You will lead the team to create short, medium and long term strategies that prevent fraud while enabling growth on rapidly expanding Stripe products like Treasury, Issuing, Capital, Crypto and Stablecoins. Responsibilities * Lead a Specialized Team: Coach and mentor a world-class team of fraud strategists. You'll be responsible for their professional growth and for fostering a culture of rigorous, data-driven fraud system development. * Own the E2E Fraud Prevention Lifecycle: Oversee the team's execution across all critical decision points—from new user onboarding, through offboarding and funds recovery * Strategic Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a key partner to Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations. You will navigate complex cross functional fraud prevention system development and tuning, ensuring our risk appetite aligns with both internal goals and external partner requirements. * Systems Thinking: Deeply understand our performance metrics including loss trends and leading indicators. Analyze account activity and monitor portfolio trends to identify opportunities for Stripe to reduce potential fraud losses. Understand our fraud controls and strategies to identify opportunities for improvement. Work closely with our core risk team to mitigate potential risks with specific users. * Executive Communication: Effectively and clearly communicate with internal leadership teams across Stripe, and effectively communicate with external leadership teams across Stripe's users, and Stripe's financial and regulatory partners. * Thought Leadership: Drive innovative fraud strategies that scale across Stripe’s wide range of products. Embrace AI technologies to accelerate execution and improve fraud prevention outcomes. Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. Minimum requirements * 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Financial Services, Payments or FinTech. * A coach and mentor dedicated to nurturing talent and helping team members perform at their best * Experience recruiting, developing, and managing diverse and high-performing teams. * Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills, with an ability to influence stakeholders across organizations and functions. * Excellent communicator (verbal and written) who is able to convey complex ideas succinctly in high stakes situations both internally with Stripe leadership teams and externally with users, financial partners and regulators. * Decisive, yet open to learning — you will make many critical decisions every day, even with the knowledge that you will be wrong some of the time. * Proven ability to collaborate and execute scaled and high complexity projects cross-functionally with both technical and non technical teams. * Champion for AI and automation — you actively seek opportunities to apply AI-powered tooling and automation to accelerate risk strategy work, reduce manual toil, and improve the quality and consistency of decisions at scale; you set the example for your team in adopting and driving these capabilities. Preferred qualifications * Strong data visualization skills and a willingness to use data and AI tools to analyze and make decisions. * Experience in a high-growth technology company managing risk at scale. * Experience working in tech, or in another fast-paced, high-growth environment. * Experience in building scaled systems to prevent bank account fraud, issuing fraud and/or crypto/stablecoin fraud. * Expertise with quantitative tools such as Python, R, etc.

The Industry Expansion Strategy team protects Stripe's business and mission by building the policies, frameworks and practices that enable Stripe to support businesses in complex, highly regulated industries. As Stripe expands into new markets and products, we unlock revenue, advance trust and set the standard for what responsible growth looks like at scale. WHAT YOU’LL DO This role sits at the intersection of risk management and strategic business development. You'll embed directly with Sales account teams as a trusted risk advisor, helping Stripe win strategic opportunities and onboard large enterprise platforms—while ensuring that growth is sustainable and compliant. You'll also partner closely with Compliance, Legal, Financial Partnerships, and Product to build the governance and oversight frameworks for our Third Party Agents (TPA) program. We are looking for someone who is passionate about navigating ambiguity, enabling business growth while balancing risk, and is skilled at identifying ways to improve user experience. RESPONSIBILITIES * Partner with Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Financial Partnerships teams to lead pre-onboarding EDD for large, complex TPA merchants—covering AML and KYC compliance, credit assessments, and card scheme registration to ensure a smooth, high-quality experience for Stripe's most strategic users. * Own end-to-end Visa Third Party Agent program compliance, including driving periodic audits and user remediations, managing required scheme reporting cadences, and designing scalable operational programs. * Serve as the primary point of contact for card scheme and regulatory engagements to ensure ongoing registration and compliance requirements are met. * Perform research and analysis to assess Stripe's current risk performance and develop and prioritize long-term strategic plans for future growth. * Challenge the status quo and provide multiple alternative solutions and key execution criteria. * Represent Stripe in external engagements with our most critical partners and users. * Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as initiatives, products, risks, and opportunities are constantly evolving. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years of professional experience in a related role in Payments or FinTech industries * Familiarity with banking and money movement regulations, including KYC and KYB, AML OFAC compliance, and credit and fraud risk * Foundational understanding of payments integrity risks and card scheme compliance rules (experience with TPAs is a plus) * Experience overseeing design execution and delivery of highly strategic programs. MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: * 8–10 years of experience in brand or creative strategy, ideally within an agency environment. * Demonstrated experience leading integrated brand positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy in luxury, retail or CPG – specifically with large multi-national clients. * Strong track record shaping creative strategy across a mix of experiences—campaigns, websites, platforms, and content ecosystems. * A systems-oriented mindset: comfortable thinking across journeys, channels, and touchpoints. * Interest in how emerging technologies (especially AI) are shaping brand experiences, personalization, and creative execution. * Familiarity with AI at the experience layer (e.g., personalization, content systems, conversational interfaces, dynamic journeys). * Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills. * Comfort working in ambiguity while driving toward clear direction and outcomes. * A collaborative mindset and passion for making the work—and the team—better. * Advanced French communication skills.
