BARFI BITES AS is looking for an experienced Mithai Pastry Chef / South Asian Sweet Maker

Full-time / Part-time

Location: Oslo (Holmlia Senter)

Start date: Upon agreement

This is not a typical pastry chef position.

Barfi Bites is looking for someone with genuine experience in traditional South Asian sweets and mithai craftsmanship from countries such as India, Pakistan or Bangladesh.

We are searching for someone who truly understands the craftsmanship behind classic sweets such as:

• Barfi
• Gulab Jamun
• Jalebi
• Rasgulla
• Laddoo
• Halwa
• Kaju Katli
• Milk Cake
• Cham Cham
• Bengali sweets and other traditional mithai products

Perhaps you learned through family traditions, generations, your own sweet shop or traditional production environments.

This is a very unique skill set in Scandinavia.

Therefore, we are searching broadly across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Brussel and the Netherlands.

About the role

You will work closely with the production of traditional South Asian sweets where quality, authenticity and feeling for the craft are essential.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has practical experience in mithai production
• Understands traditional recipes and techniques
• Has an eye for quality and detail
• Is reliable, responsible and self-driven
• Thrives in teamwork and fast-paced environments
• Speaks Hindi, Urdu, Bengali or Punjabi (a plus, but not required)
• Has a genuine passion for South Asian food culture and dessert traditions

A strong advantage if you:

• Have worked in a mithai shop, sweet factory or traditional bakery
• Can produce larger volumes without losing quality
• Have experience with catering or festival production
