greatest impact for students. About the Postsecondary Success Teacher Role: Valor’s Postsecondary Success Program is designed to
ensure every Valor student graduates with a personalized postsecondary plan that draws on their intellectual, social, and
emotional preparation and empowers them to live an inspired and purposeful life. As the Postsecondary Success Teacher, this
individual will facilitate a classroom space, much like a content teacher, for 3 periods per day through which students build
foundational knowledge around several postsecondary pathways, the college admissions process, life skills, and college 101. The
course also engages students in lessons that guide them to set up their wish list, pen application writing, and organize a digital
college portfolio that will accompany them into their twelfth grade year. In addition to their classroom responsibilities, this
person will schedule and host meetings with a caseload of students and families to advise on the customization and finalization of
their postsecondary plans. These meetings happen largely outside of class time. Core Responsibilities Include: Planning &
Instruction Internalize and plan to execute daily routines and provided lessons that are built on Valor’s College Counseling
curriculum scope and sequence to meet the needs of all students Prepare materials for class activities, do now, exit tickets, and
homework assignments Collect, enter, and analyze academic data to provide targeted instruction and interventions that promote a
culture of learning Engage in weekly 1:1 coaching meetings to deepen content expertise and develop instructional mastery Submit
intellectual preparation weekly for feedback and review by instructional coach Engage in weekly collaborative curriculum meetings

POSITION SUMMARY: The Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) is a member of the faculty (rank commensurate with experience) who is responsible for the development and maintenance of clinical externship sites. The ACCE designs and evaluates clinical education coursework and manages the externship experience, including student placement and supervision at affiliated clinical education centers. The ACCE assists the Program Director with program administrative and governance duties, facilitates meaningful learning of course competencies, and proactively supports all facets of the learning environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Teaching: 1. Performs instructional duties as outlined in the faculty job description and in accordance with the provisions of the Faculty Supplement to the South University Employee Handbook. 2. Develops, implements, and evaluates physical therapist assistant (PTA) curriculum in collaboration with other PTA faculty on-campus and across campuses. 3. Teaches 8 classes per academic year or the equivalent. 4. Promotes student success by showing flexibility in teaching style and work schedule, as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process. 5. Relates professional, life, and industry experience to learning by the continuation of professional and technical skills development, the introduction of industry perspective into courses, and the active awareness of professional and industry trends and opportunities. 6. Complies with federal, state, and accrediting body standards and regulations, as well as adhering to all university policies and procedures. Faculty Service/ Administration: 1. Establishes and coordinates all student externships through clinical sites, as well as serves as liaison between the PTA program and the clinical education centers, responsible for the implementation of clinical center selection and fosters development of clinical programs and faculty. 2. Assists Program Director in the administration of the PTA program, including student and administrative file maintenance, student registration and advisement, and student, campus, and community relations. 3. Participates in the governance and short- and long-term planning of the program and the university. 4. Fulfills all administrative, instructional, and clinical responsibilities to prepare and graduate competent, entry-level physical therapist assistants who work under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. 5. Fulfills other responsibilities as determined by the Program Director. Faculty Development Activities: 1. Participates in annual faculty development as required by the university and to maintain state licensure as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. 2. Contributes to a positive campus culture by participating on curriculum and system task forces, supporting local campus events, such as orientation and graduation, and participating in various professional development workshops and program-based meetings.
