We are looking for an Electronics Hardware Developer to join an international R&D team developing industrial electronics for
softstarters and contactors.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and verifying analog and digital electronic hardware from concept
through serial production. You will work closely with suppliers, product management, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to
deliver robust and reliable hardware solutions for industrial applications.
This is a hands-on engineering role covering the complete hardware development lifecycle, including schematic design, PCB layout
support, simulations, laboratory testing, verification, documentation, and production handover.

Then, join our team of highly motivated engineers as a R&D engineer for electronics hardware development, and contribute to the foundations of next-generation ABB products. You will maintain our active product portfolio, contribute creative ideas to product realization initiatives and propose innovative development projects addressing customer specific requirements. We provide an agile, dynamic workplace and you will be part of a cross-functional agile team embedded in a global network of collaborating teams. We expect that you show a high motivation, hands-on attitude as well as taking initiative to come up with new ideas that tackle today’s challenges. You design, develop, and implement analog and digital circuits from concept phase to serial production. Your tasks include creation of schematics and definition of constraints for PCB layout, definition of verification specifications and execution of verification activities of your designs by simulation and prototype testing, as well as documentation and handover of the developed technologies with subsequent implementation support to production engineering. You collaborate closely with product owner, product management, system architects and software developers to breakdown market requirements to product requirements for hardware. You monitor technology developments and product technologies to identify technical drivers for R&D projects, supported by your thorough understanding of key business drivers for ABB’s products and solutions. You participate in internal and external networks to expand your knowledge of your area of expertise. You take responsibility for hardware development activities, as (senior) member, including risk identification, alignment with targets, and close coordination with suppliers and other functions (e.g. product management). You contribute to discussions of intellectual property and secure patent rights for ABB by driving the IP creation. Qualifications for the role M.Sc. or B.Sc degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems or comparable field At least 5 years of experience in development of electronics within embedded systems as a hardware design engineer in an industrial context Sound knowledge in designing electronic circuits, circuit diagrams, and working with simulation tools Experience in testing and validation of prototypes in a laboratory. Proven experience in working with voltage levels up to ~1kV would be considered a plus Knowledge in EMC compatible design would be considered a plus Willingness to travel internationally (<5%) Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; Swedish language skills are beneficial but not a prerequisite. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ARCHITECT – LOW VOLTAGE & HARDWARE (AUTOMOTIVE) Location: Gothenburg, Sweden On-site: Yes (no remote) Start: May 2026 Duration: Long-term assignment SHAPE THE ELECTRICAL ARCHITECTURE OF FUTURE MOBILITY We are looking for a senior Electrical System Architect to take a key role in developing next-generation electrical systems within automotive powertrain solutions. This is a technical architect role focused on low voltage systems and hardware architecture – not project management. You will work at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the development of scalable and robust electrical architectures for hybrid and fully electric vehicles. ABOUT THE ROLE As Electrical System Architect, you will be responsible for defining and developing the electrical system architecture across complex vehicle systems. You will work closely with hardware, software, and system teams to ensure seamless integration across ECUs, communication networks, and electrical components. 👉 The role is hands-on and technical, with a focus on: * Electrical architecture * Hardware systems * Integration and system design KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Define and develop electrical system architecture for low voltage automotive systems * Drive system design across ECUs, communication networks, and hardware components * Translate and break down system and customer requirements into technical solutions * Ensure scalability, performance, and robustness of electrical systems * Work closely with hardware developers, software teams, and system specialists * Handle technical challenges such as: * EMC * signal integrity * load balancing * network topology * Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 26262 and cybersecurity requirements * Support industrialization from concept to production REQUIREMENTS * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or similar * Solid experience in electrical system architecture within automotive * Strong background in low voltage systems and hardware design * Deep understanding of: * ECUs * communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.) * electrical system integration * Experience with: * AUTOSAR * ISO 26262 * EMC considerations * Experience working cross-functionally with hardware and software teams IMPORTANT FOR THIS ROLE * This is a technical architect role – not a project manager position * Strong hands-on hardware and system design experience is required * Focus is on low voltage electrical systems, not high-level program management MERITORIOUS * Experience from Volvo Cars, Volvo Group or Geely * Experience within electrified powertrain systems (inverters, EDUs, etc.) * Background in power electronics

ABOUT THE ROLE As our Drone Test & Field Engineer, you’ll play a key role in getting and keeping our fleet of autonomous drones in the air. Working as part of our development team, you will bring new drones to life where hardware and software come together and test their capabilities systematically in the real world. WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON * Integrate & Checkout: Work hand-in-hand with our hardware & software developers and technicians to complete integration and get new UAVs to flight readiness. * Launch and Fly: Operate and fine-tune drones from backpackable quadcopters to three meter wingspan fixed-wings (eVTOL & catapult launch). * Test Strategy: You own qualification and development flight testing, from structure and organization over execution in the field to data processing and documentation. * Improve & Suggest: Spot bugs and design flaws, propose & evaluate improvements, and help us move faster and build better. * Demonstrate & Train: Introduce our systems to partners and end users on our test-base and in the field across Europe.
