The job We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help us build the next generation of Flo’s platform and user experiences. You’ll work on the foundation that powers interactive surveys and dynamic content inside the Flo app — building SDKs, reusable components, and internal tooling that enable other product teams to deliver exceptional experiences quickly and reliably. Our frontend stack is based on React, TypeScript, and Next.js, with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and testing. We care deeply about quality: we use TypeScript for type safety, Jest and Playwright for automated testing, and continuously evolve our design system and UI Kit. What you'll be doing: * Design, build, and maintain high-quality user-facing components and platform SDKs that enable survey and interactive experiences in the Flo ecosystem. * Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver flexible and scalable solutions. * Contribute to Flo’s design system and shared UI libraries, ensuring consistency and reusability across products. * Refactor and improve existing codebases for performance, reliability, and maintainability. * Write clean, modular, well-documented code and advocate for engineering best practices. * Actively participate in the frontend community at Flo, sharing ideas and driving improvements in architecture and development processes. Your Experience Must have: * 7+ years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining modern web applications. * Expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+). * Deep experience with React and modern frontend tooling. * Solid grasp of object-oriented design patterns and the ability to write efficient, well-structured algorithms * You must use AI coding agents as your default way of working — writing code manually is the exception, not the rule. * Proven ability to create adaptive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces. * A product mindset and strong collaboration skills — you care about how your work impacts the user. Nice to have: * Familiarity with Next.js, Contentful, or similar frameworks and CMS solutions. * Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks. * Understanding of analytics and BI integrations. The job As an Android Engineer at Flo, you'll help shape the mobile experience for millions of people, and do genuinely meaningful work in women's health. Our app is trusted by 1 in 4 women aged 18–44 in the US and used across 100+ countries, with machine learning and AI powering accurate cycle predictions and personalised, medically credible health insights. We build large-scale mobile applications with rich, intuitive interfaces - optimised for speed, accessibility and privacy. You'll join a cross-functional team working across the full mobile lifecycle, from feature ideation through to release and iteration, with real ownership over value delivery end to end. We're not a feature factory. Our engineers are pragmatic problem-solvers who thrive in fast-moving environments and care about what they ship. You'll have genuine scope to experiment, lead ambitious product initiatives and implement solutions that matter - not just clear a backlog. Flo is a constantly evolving product, and we give our engineers the trust and autonomy to evolve it. Your Experience Must have: * 7+ years of hands-on Android development experience, with a track record of shipping and maintaining production applications at scale * Experience building large, complex mobile applications with polished, performant UIs - ideally for global consumer audiences * Strong proficiency in Java, with solid object-oriented design principles and a keen eye for clean, maintainable code * Deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem - including platform fragmentation, UI design patterns, and delivering consistent experiences across a wide range of screen sizes and devices * Solid familiarity with Google technologies, Play Store submission processes, and Google's development guidelines * A good grasp of the full mobile product lifecycle, with practical experience working within Agile teams Nice to have: * Knowledge of Kotlin programming language, Clean Architecture and reactive programming * An eye for UX and interaction design - you care about how things feel, not just how they work * Hands-on experience with mobile CI/CD tooling, including build, test and release automation * Experience integrating with analytics and BI systems, including A/B testing frameworks * Experience with alternative Android markets * Experience optimising data usage over mobile networks and building offline-first applications What you'll be doing You'll be responsible for: * Developing features using modern frameworks, libraries and in-house components - contributing to a shared codebase built to last * Delivering polished, intuitive user experiences that meet a high bar for design and usability * Maintaining and improving a continuous delivery pipeline, ensuring fast, reliable and safe releases to production #LI-Hybrid #LI-AJ1 Salary Range - gross per month (ranges may vary based on skills and experience) €6.500—€8.500 EUR How we work We’re a mission-led, product-driven team. Your Experience Must have: * 6+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on building, shipping, and maintaining production mobile applications. * Expert-level iOS development skills, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality apps at scale. * Hands-on experience building complex mobile applications with rich, performant UIs — experience in global consumer-facing products is a strong plus. * Deep proficiency in Swift; working knowledge of Objective-C and solid object-oriented design principles. * Strong familiarity with Apple's ecosystem — frameworks, HIG guidelines, and end-to-end App Store submission and maintenance processes. * Clear understanding of the mobile product lifecycle and comfortable working within Agile teams. * A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with the drive to take ownership and deliver. Nice to have: * Solid understanding of UX and interaction design principles, with the ability to collaborate effectively with designers and advocate for quality user experiences. * Proven experience optimizing mobile app performance over constrained networks, including building and maintaining offline-first architectures. * Hands-on experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, including build automation, automated testing, and release workflows. * Experience integrating with BI and analytics platforms, with familiarity in designing and interpreting A/B tests to drive product decisions.
