Location: [Poland] We Are: RTB House is a next-generation performance demand-side platform (DSP) that uses proprietary Deep Learning AI algorithms to help brands grow. The company is the market leader in driving performance using Deep Learning across the entire purchase funnel. Founded in 2012, and now operating in 90+ markets, RTB House has always been private-by-design. It embraces first-party advertising and a relentless approach to innovation. RTB House offers end-to-end Deep Learning-powered AdTech products and solutions to maximize conversion, drive new customer acquisition, create engagement, and fuel long-term demand for a global base of clients. Why RTB House? If you are looking for a place where you can really make a difference , then RTB House might be the right fit for you. The Bidding Platform organization is the core of the RTB business, processing over 20 million requests per second to participate in real-time auctions and display advertisements to customers from 90+ countries. The Platform Engineering team, which this job advert relates to, sits within the Bidding Platform and owns the platform and infrastructure that our bidding applications run on — deployment, monitoring, databases, load balancing and Kubernetes. The team makes sure these foundations stay reliable and scalable under massive, low-latency load, and provides self-service tooling with clear usage contracts, so the vertical (business) teams can build and ship autonomously. The exact scope is likely to evolve over time as our platform grows in scale and complexity. You Will: * Lead, mentor, and grow a team of ~8–10 strong systems and backend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and high code quality. * Own the vision and roadmap for the platform layer of the Bidding Platform - planning its evolution with platform efficiency, reliability, scalability and security as the guiding lens. * Take part in defining the team's evolving scope — as the platform grows, we anticipate the need for multiple platform teams, leaving meaningful room to shape the scope around the areas that interest you most. * Delegate ownership of whole platform areas (e.g. monitoring, deployment, security) to senior engineers advising and supporting them when needed. * Deliver the team's capabilities as self-service platforms with clear usage contracts. For example, in monitoring the team provides and operates the monitoring platform and defines the contract for using it - while creating individual metrics and watching them day-to-day stays with the vertical (business) teams that own the applications. * Base decisions on data - complex projects often require running experiments and gathering evidence before deciding * Take part in IT-wide capacity planning for further platform scaling. * Own the framework for dispatching on-call alarms to the right teams and drive the continuous elimination of noisy alarms. The lead does not need to take part in the duty rotation personally. Desired Experience: * 2+ years in a technical leadership role (Team Lead / Engineering Manager), including leading project teams. * Strong previous hands-on background in distributed systems and systems engineering - deployment, monitoring, databases, and load balancing within large-scale infrastructure. The role is not about writing code day-to-day, but this background is essential to understand and lead the engineers. * Comprehensive understanding of complex IT systems spanning hardware, software, and algorithms. * Knowledge of concurrent programming and distributed systems. * Critical performance analysis skills - from theoretical estimation to production optimization. * Strong programming background and the ability to dive deep into code reviews when needed.. * Experience building platform capabilities as products for other engineering teams - defining clear usage contracts and best practices, and driving cross-team technical rollouts by enabling and guiding those teams rather than doing all the work yourself; * Comfortable owning a technical area end-to-end and communicating across teams. * Self-directed, proactive approach. * C1-level English and Polish fluency. Selected Technologies: You will have the autonomy to select the best tools for the job. The current stack includes: Java, Python, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Aerospike, Memcached, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, MinIO, Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, Graphite. We Offer: * Projects focused on extreme performance and high code quality – clean code and solid code reviews are our standard. * Collaboration within an interdisciplinary, self-sufficient team (including DevOps, database experts, backend developers, product designers, and QA engineers). * Access to modern technologies and the opportunity to apply them in large-scale, high-impact projects. * Cooperation based on B2B contract. * You can cooperate 100 % remotely or choose one of our office spaces in Warsaw or Cracow. Apply now! You don't need to tick every box to apply. If you are passionate about digital marketing, send us your CV, and we'll review it.
