In this critical role, you will ensure the high availability, performance, and scalability of Sedna's SaaS solutions. Working at the intersection of development and operations, you will play a key role in automating our infrastructure, improving system reliability, and driving efficiency across our platforms. Our services mostly run on AWS, with some systems running on Azure and GCP. Languages in use include Kotlin, Elixir, Java and Python. We use a broad range of technologies including Kubernetes, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, OpenSearch and Kafka. Our platforms are critical to global trade and are used by users across the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We process many millions of emails and other transactions each day, and our storage is at petabyte scale. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop and maintain scalable, resilient cloud-based infrastructure using industry best practices. * Implement automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment and system management. * Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement strategies to ensure high availability and minimal downtime. * Collaborate with development and product teams to enhance the scalability and efficiency of the application architecture. * Participate in on-call rotations, providing expert support for critical system incidents and ensuring rapid resolution. * Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency. You’ll pair with members of the platform engineering team, architects and developers to gain an in-depth understanding of how everything works. * We’ll help you build a full understanding of the environment in which we work and we’ll get you up to speed with our planning and roadmapping processes, so you can start influencing the direction of Platform Engineering WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: ESSENTIAL * Proven experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or similar roles, operating and evolving production infrastructure at large scale, ideally within complex, distributed, or high-availability environments where uptime, security and data integrity are business-critical. * You've designed or significantly re-architected cloud infrastructure (not just maintained it), diagnosed and resolved production incidents under pressure, and can point to specific systems you've made more resilient, scalable, or cost-efficient. * Highly proficient with AWS - we use VPC, IAM, ELB/WAF, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, Kinesis, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SageMaker, Bedrock, OpenSearch, RDS, ElastiCache SES, KMS and more. * Demonstrable experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible). * Skilled in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Javascript) and experience with CI/CD pipelines and practices. * A tenacious problem-solver with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving system bottlenecks and stability issues. * Excellent communicator, capable of working collaboratively across both technical and non-technical teams, being able to explain complex technical issues in clear, understandable terms. * Passionate about learning new technologies and continuously improving systems and processes. You will move beyond manual server management to engineer automated, self-healing infrastructure that handles petabytes of data with sub-millisecond latency. This role is about treating our private data centers like a programmable cloud. Responsibilities - Engineering and Provisioning - * Develop and maintain automated provisioning pipelines (PXE, ZTP) to deploy bare-metal servers ( configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements) at scale across global data centers. * You research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks. - Operations and Support - * You perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. * You repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating with impacted teams. - Maintenance - * You apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. * You maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment. * You perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
