We're looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to join our DBA Services Team. You'll provide day-to-day database support across
multiple public sector clients, contribute to cloud migration projects, and help modernise our data platforms on Azure.

You'll provide day-to-day database support across multiple public sector clients, contribute to cloud migration projects, and help modernise our data platforms on Azure. Key responsibilities * Administer and maintain SQL Server and Azure SQL databases across multiple clients * Monitor performance, optimise queries, and manage resources * Install, configure, and upgrade database software (Azure and on-premise) * Resolve incidents and service requests in line with ITIL standards * Maintain documentation, procedures, and database standards * Support cloud migration and Azure PaaS projects * Contribute to Change Advisory Board and proactive maintenance initiatives * Stay updated on trends and best practices in database technologies and associated applications. ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Ideal Candidate Essential: * 5+ years in an operational DBA role * Strong SQL Server knowledge (all supported versions), SSRS, SSIS * Experience with SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines * Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, and KQL * Windows OS administration * Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. * Eligible for or able to obtain UK Security Clearance. Desirable: * Microsoft Certifications (DP-900 / DP-300) * Experience with Azure PaaS, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Data Warehouse * Oracle Database Administration and RMAN experience * Familiarity with AWS, Logic Apps, or Redgate SQL Monitor WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU: This role will offer exposure to the right mix of challenges, within a culture that promotes continuous learning and development. This includes Daily operation, tuning, capacity planning and consolidation. With SQL development knowledge you will be involve in new development /enhancement along with product development team and supporting them with runtime activities You will be involved in discussion with the different projects regarding their needs and guide them to a suitable solution. You will be working together with the Domain Architect to create new solutions and secure our deliveries. You will work with traditional DBA tasks and at the same time contribute to improve our database services You will be helping with automation, quality, stability and security with regards to our databases Your profile: We are looking for Database Administrators with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, excellent analytical skills, great at problem-solving, passionate about technology and ones who love supporting application teams to maintaining and develop software applications! (Mandatory skill at least 3 years hands-on managing PROD systems) Good Experience handling database in AWS (Amazon web Services) and good cloud engineering knowledge (Mandatory skill) Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) and/or good knowledge of MongoDB. Ability to work independently and drive activities. Development Experience in Database area will have added advantage. Experience in implementing changes to larger database environments Knowledge of monitoring tools outside of CloudWatch is an advantage Ability to leveraging best practices in continuous integration and delivery is an advantage Experience in handling On-Call support Fluent in English - both written and spoken.
