What You Will DoAs a member of design team, you will be part of developing the User Plane Control Layer (L2) components of Ericsson’s Baseband software for our world leading 5G RAN and future 6G solutions. Contribute to baseband product development that focuses systemization, design, testing, and troubleshooting. As you will be exposed to high edge integrated and cloud RAN products. Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities. Learn industry best practices, agile ways of working, and state-of-the-art development environments applying new knowledge to improve product innovationThe Skills You Bring Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in telecommunications, signal processing, wireless communications, computer science, embedded systems, or a related field. Strong foundation in C, C++, Python programming. Collaborative and Creative mindset who can easily interact with people. Eagerness to learn, and the courage to take initiative and ownership. Familiarity with Wireless communication technologies (4G/5G), 3GPP/ORAN standards, and/or signal processing is a strong plus. ML and Gen AI Tools hands on experience is a plus. Previous Ericsson experience as thesis student or summer intern is a plus.

TECHLA is now looking for an experienced system profile within 5G RAN/Baseband for an exciting consulting assignment in Gothenburg. This role is a great fit for someone with a strong technical interest in radio systems, communication theory, signal processing and the development of functionality in modern mobile networks. About the role In this role, you will work with system development within 5G RAN, focusing on developing, analyzing and improving the performance of baseband-related functionality. The work may include areas such as radio resource management, scheduling, link adaptation, time-critical communication, antenna control and optimization of 5G network performance. You will work closely with development, design and test teams and be involved throughout the development chain, from early ideas, analysis and specification to implementation, verification and deployment of new features. Examples of responsibilities: Design and specification of algorithms within RAN/Baseband Systemization and requirements breakdown for new base station features Analysis and optimization of 5G network performance Work related to radio resources, scheduling, link adaptation and antenna control Support to design and test teams throughout the development process Analysis of fault reports and technical issues on system level Contribute to the development of new features from early concept to customer-facing product environments We believe you have Experience from 5G RAN, Baseband or similar telecom systems Good understanding of 3GPP-based communication systems, such as 3G, 4G/LTE and 5G NR Experience from the lower layers of the protocol stack, such as L1/L2, PHY or MAC Knowledge within communication theory, signal processing or radio algorithms Experience from system work, algorithm design, technical analysis or performance optimization The ability to understand complex technical problems and drive them forward Good English skills, both spoken and written It is meritorious if you have Previous experience from Ericsson, Combitech or another RAN/Baseband-related environment Experience with scheduling, link adaptation, RRM, MIMO, beamforming or antenna control Experience with Python, C, MATLAB or similar tools for analysis, simulation or performance evaluation A Master of Science or Ph.D. within Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, Telecom, Communication Technology or a similar field Experience using AI tools in technical development work Swedish language skills Who you are We believe that you are analytical, curious and technically driven.
