In this role you will report to our Project Controls leadership and sit within our Project Delivery function. The team is responsible for providing financial transparency, cost governance, and decision support across one of the largest industrial projects in Europe. As Lead Project Cost Controller, you will be responsible for leading cost control activities within a major project area, ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting, and financial performance throughout project execution. You will work closely with Project Managers, Area Managers, EPCM partners, Finance, Procurement, and Project Controls to ensure project costs are understood, controlled, and communicated effectively. Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. * Lead cost control activities for a major project area, ensuring alignment with budgets, project objectives, and contractual commitments * Develop and maintain forecasts, cash flow projections, variance analyses, and cost performance reporting * Review and challenge EPCM cost reports, commitments, accruals, change orders, and expenditure forecasts * Monitor project performance to identify cost risks, trends, and opportunities, and drive mitigation actions * Support project change management through cost impact assessments and evaluation of budget implications * Collaborate with Project Managers, Area Managers, EPCM contractors, Procurement, Planning, Finance, and Accounting teams * Prepare cost reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to support project leadership and decision-making * Drive continuous improvement of project controls processes, reporting standards, and cost management practices What you’ll bring You’re curious and believe that real progress happens when we work together. The team is responsible for driving planning excellence, schedule assurance, and project-wide coordination across one of the largest industrial projects in Europe. As Planning & Scheduling Lead, you will act as the Owner's representative for planning and scheduling within your assigned project area. You will work closely with Construction, Engineering, Commissioning, EPCM partners, and contractors to ensure schedules are realistic, integrated, and aligned with project objectives. This is a site-based role with a strong focus on schedule assurance, progress validation, forecasting, and delivery performance. You will coordinate contractors, ensure work readiness, and maintain momentum on site while resolving issues and keeping teams aligned with project priorities. About the Role As Central Cost Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and insightfulness of cost performance across one of Europe’s most ambitious industrial projects. Sitting within the Central Project Controls Function, this role provides governance and oversight across the programme - setting standards, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring the accuracy of cost data that informs strategic decisions. You will own cost control frameworks and tools, guide embedded project teams, and act as a key interface between cost engineering, planning, risk, and finance. Contract Type: 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Boden Reports To: Head of Central Project Controls Key Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and own Stegra’s cost control standards, tools, templates, and procedures. * Provide independent oversight of cost performance across all delivery areas, identifying variances, trends, and risks. * Ensure a single, reliable source of cost data is maintained across the project lifecycle. * Govern and coordinate the cost aspects of the integrated change control process, ensuring cross-functional impact assessments. * Support Area Cost Leads in applying consistent cost methodologies and reporting standards. * Provide training and guidance to cost control staff across the project. * Produce consolidated cost dashboards and insights for Stegra leadership and the Project Improvement Unit. * Drive continuous improvement in cost management systems, processes, and practices. * Deploy cost resources into delivery areas when additional support is required. * Manages the end‑to‑end change control process across all disciplines, ensuring changes are assessed, coordinated, and implemented. * Own the change control framework, standards, workflows, and templates for the entire project. * Ensure all proposed changes are assessed for impacts across cost, schedule, risk, and interfaces. * Support area teams to embed effective change control practices. What We’re Looking For * ~15 years of experience in cost control within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects, ideally under EPCM contracts. * Deep understanding of cost management frameworks, including AACE and PMI standards. * Proven experience working across interfaces such as engineering, procurement, construction, quality, and planning. * Strong proficiency in cost control tools and reporting systems, including Earned Value Management (EVM), forecasting, and KPIs. * Demonstrated ability to lead in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities. * Strong communication and influencing skills; capable of working cross-functionally and supporting executive-level decisions. * A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of structure, integrity, and accountability. In this role you will report to our Project Risk and Opportunity Lead and sit within our Project Delivery function. The role requires excellent personal and interpersonal skills, and you will be at the core of our project delivery team, working across the full lifecycle of greenfield and brownfield projects. A role which supports all aspects of risk management ensuring that both qualitative and quantitative risk insights guide decision-making and delivery planning. This role requires a strong background in capital projects, excellent facilitation skills, and the ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams. Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. * Develop and implement risk plans for capital projects across all lifecycle phases (FEL1 to execution). * Facilitate structured assessments, project risk workshops, technical and non-technical. Update of risk registers, support risk and action owners, and verify mitigation activities. * Plan and facilitate Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) workshops and model capital risk profiles. * Perform integrated cost and schedule Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) using industry tools such as Safran Risk and @RISK. * Oversee maintain, monitor, and analyze project risk registers to ensure proactive mitigation and alignment with project objectives. * Support risk-based decision-making at both the project and program level through clear communication methods. * Provide coaching and training to project teams on risk principles and methods, and collaborate closely with project functions such as Planning, Cost, HSE, and Engineering to embed risk management into project systems and culture. * Assess internal and external project environments to tailor and implement project-specific risk management plans. * Configure project risk structures (registers, matrices, breakdowns), and lead facilitation of workshops to develop project risk profiles. * Lead specialized risk reviews (procurement, contract, change, and hazard studies), oversee decision analysis and value assessments, manage reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and ensure integration of risk into project controls. * Support project close-out by documenting lessons learned and ensure alignment with ISO-based risk framework * Liaise with the Risk and Opportunities Lead regarding risk practice application and best practices. Demonstrated capability and practical project risk management experience will be considered equally alongside formal education or certifications. * Degree in Project Management, Risk Management, Engineering, or related field, with professional certification (e.g. PMI-RMP, PMP, MoR, Prince2, AACE DRMP). * 15+ years of experience in project or risk management within capital-intensive industries (energy, mining, infrastructure, etc.). * Proven facilitation skills in leading risk workshops and strategic assessments with cross-functional teams. * Proficient in quantitative risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulations and tools like Safran Risk, @RISK, or Primavera Risk Analysis. * Understanding of project risk management grounded in international standards such as ISO 31000, ISO 31010, and IEC 62198, as well as frameworks including PRAM, PMI PMBOK, and the AACEI TCM 7.1 Framework and recommended practices. * Skilled in integrating risk insights across cost estimating, scheduling, procurement, and project controls. * Excellent communication skills in English (Swedish is a plus), with strong interpersonal abilities and coaching experience in risk management practices * Considered a plus if you have experience conducting technical risk reviews, including HAZOPs, What-If analyses, design and constructability reviews, and interface hazard studies.
