About the Company At Avaron, you get the security of permanent employment combined with the variety of working at different customers. We place specialists across everything from tech, IT and industry to project management and business support – and whatever the assignment, you have a consultant manager who is there for you and your development. About the Role You will step into a key role in a BI and data warehouse modernization initiative where a legacy Microsoft environment is being analyzed, reshaped and moved toward a modern cloud-based data platform. This is an early-phase assignment where you get to combine discovery work with hands-on delivery, helping define how existing data flows, dependencies and models should evolve. The environment is complex and calls for someone who understands more than implementation alone. You need to be comfortable looking at traditional DWH and BI solutions in depth, identifying how ETL flows, stored procedures, views, tables and integrations fit together, and turning that understanding into a practical modernization path. What makes this role especially interesting is the opportunity to influence both direction and implementation from the very start. Job DescriptionYou will take a leading role in the early stages of the modernization and help shape the technical path forward. You will analyze legacy SQL Server and SSIS-based data warehouse flows, including ETL, stored procedures, views, tables and dependencies. You will contribute to discovery and analysis work as well as hands-on implementation. You will help modernize existing data flows toward platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks or Snowflake. You will work with data modeling and help apply concepts such as Kimball, Data Vault, star schema and data marts in a practical way. You will document technical solutions, mappings, data flows and key design decisions in a structured manner. You will work closely with architects, BI developers, business experts and other data engineers. You will support and guide more junior data engineers in the team.
