As a Workshop Worker at LW, your tasks will include processing, assembly, and to some extent manufacturing for facade and roofing
solutions.
We handle varied and exciting projects – everything from parking garages and office buildings to hospitals and other public-use
facilities.

It’s appreciated if you have professional experience working with CNC, punching, folding machines, press brakes, or similar, and
have some knowledge of metal materials.
Experience with CAD is also a plus – but not required.
👉 However, experience is not a requirement.
The most important thing is that you’re motivated to learn, take responsibility, and want to work with manufacturing for roofs and
facades.

Position Summary Working in our new metal flashing fabrication shop in Nanaimo as well as on the sales desk, the Sheet Metal Fabricator supports the sale of metal flashing and cuts and bends to order. The shifts are Monday - Friday with a Saturday rotation every 5 weeks. The wage range for this position is $23 - $27 per hour. Key Responsibilities * Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers * Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities * Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications * Cut and bend metal flashings, utilizing shear and break * Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications * Maintain Metal Shop (assembling orders in a neat fashion, and maintaining a clean work space) * Carry out equipment inspections, servicing and minor maintenance. * Schedule all incoming orders and communicate lead times as required * Maintain inventory of materials * Provide superior customer service * Practice and promote workplace safety standards * All other duties as assigned by manager Skills and Qualifications * Training and/or experience in sheet metal fabrication is an asset * Weight Handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) * Manual dexterity * Forklift experience is an asset * A positive can-do attitude is essential! * Effective interpersonal skills * Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work overtime when required Physical Requirements * Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. * Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight Benefits * Health benefits - including drug coverage, practitioner, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. * Retirement savings (pension or other) are provided. * Perks - Company discounts (mobile phone, etc.), training programs and opportunities for career advancement, group events, and more. Position Overview The purpose of this position is to build architectural sheet metal products in manufacturing reaching identified productivity, reliability, and quality and safety targets in a team environment. Expected to be results oriented, accountable for all aspects of meeting our customer expectations. Technical Responsibilities of the Job * Assemble products made out of sheet metal/insulation with supervision per process details specified by our customers. This may involve using simple hand tools as well as more complex equipment such as CNC press brakes and spot welders. * The ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math functions is essential. * Comply with all safety recommendations and requirements. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. * Partner and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement, quality and overall process and product development. Identify at least two opportunities for continuous process and quality improvement per year.
