People is recruiting an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a well-established industrial company located near Mongstad, Norway.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional team in a busy and safety-focused working environment.
Your responsibilities will include manufacturing smaller steel structures such as stairways and ramps, repairing excavator and loader buckets, and carrying out maintenance and repairs on existing process equipment.
To be considered for this position, you must hold valid welding certificates for Process 111 – Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMA/SMAW) and Process 136 – Flux-Cored Arc Welding with Gas Shielding (FCAW/MAG).
You should also have documented experience from industrial facilities, shipyards, or structural steel fabrication.
You will work alongside skilled colleagues in a supportive and collaborative team with a strong focus on quality, safety, and craftsmanship.

As a Welder, you are responsible for welding metal components together to form a final product that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, a combination of a strong understanding of welding techniques and an eye for detail to produce the highest quality welds. Location: 1403 Dundas Street, Woodstock Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm - 2:00am, Monday - Thursday Shift Premium: $3.00 per hour for afternoons Job Duties: * Read and follow technical drawings and blueprints to understand the welding requirements for each product * Ensure proper materials are selected for each job to weld together metal components * Follow safety protocols and wear the prescribed personal protective equipment to prevent injuries * Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib), to complete large welding jobs * Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications * Ensure welding machines are properly calibrated * Repair and rework welds as needed * Communicate with supervisors to ensure production schedules are met Skills & Experience: * Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events * Required to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawing specifications, procedures, and work instructions * Assembly welding tasks require collaboration with team members, effective communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to make sound decisions when working on projects that involve multiple team members * Physical requirements include standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending while welding * Extreme temperature exposure to weather changes (heat) Qualifications: * Knowledge of fabrication processes including fitting with the assistance of a fixture and welding * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings What We Can Offer You: * Family-Oriented Company: Lots of social events, BBQ’s, pizza parties and more! * Competitive Wages and Profit Sharing: In addition to competitive wages, we celebrate our financial success together through profit sharing. * RRSP Matching Program: Retirement planning?
