YOUR MISSION Key Responsibilities Engine & Powerplant Maintenance * Remove, install, and replace engine components and assemblies following approved procedures. * Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair engine ancillary equipment including fuel systems, ignition systems, oil systems, and cooling systems. * Conduct engine ground runs and operational tests to verify proper function. Maintain and repair engine mounts, cowlings, exhaust systems, and air induction systems. * Monitor engine parameters and diagnose mechanical and performance issues. Handle fuel system maintenance includes pumps, filters, lines, and tanks. Electrical Systems * Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair aircraft electrical systems including power generation, distribution, batteries, and wiring. * Test electrical components and assemblies using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and multimeters. * Assemble and install electrical components using hand tools and soldering equipment. * Perform system functional tests. Repair or replace defective electrical wiring, connectors, and electronic components. Documentation & Compliance * Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and aircraft records in compliance with aviation regulations. * Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA airworthiness directives and service bulletins. Safety & Quality Assurance * Follow all aviation safety procedures, regulations, and best practices. * Conduct pre-flight and post-maintenance inspections. * Identify and report safety hazards or airworthiness discrepancies. * Ensure all work meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. Competencies & Duties * Working independently and responsibly. Perform tasks as described above. * Compliance according to ANAVIA’ employment contract, compliance with company’ safety instructions and employee’ safety requirements, compliance with employers’ quality manual, work instructions and corresponding process specifications and instructions. YOUR PROFILE Qualifications * Education: Technical diploma in aircraft maintenance, electrical systems, or mechanical related field. Avionics training or certification or engine-specific training certifications a plus. EASA Part-66 license a plus. * Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining aircraft electrical systems, engines, and mechanical components. Proven experience working on turbine or piston aircraft engines. Experience with aircraft electrical troubleshooting and avionics systems. Familiarity with helicopter systems (rotorcraft, turboshaft engines) is highly desirable. Experience in aerospace, aviation, or rotorcraft maintenance environments a plus. * Skills: Working knowledge of aircraft electrical systems, power generation, and distribution. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Solid mechanical aptitude with expertise in engine systems and fuel systems. Proficient use of electrical test equipment. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, precision measuring instruments. Familiar with aircraft maintenance and technical documentation. * Safety and Regulatory: Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Strong attention to detail with systematic and methodical approach to troubleshooting. Understanding of fuel system safety procedures and handling practices. Working knowledge of relevant aviation regulations a plus. * Physical: Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and working in awkward positions for extended periods. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precision work with small components and soldering. Visual acuity to inspect components, read technical documents, and identify defects. Hearing ability sufficient to detect abnormal sounds during engine runs and equipment operation. * Communication: Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, engineers, and management. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities. * Language: Good language skills in English (oral and written). German desirable. * Passport: Swiss / EU Nationals only. * Location: On-site in Näfels or Bilten, Switzerland.
Mission Brief We are looking for a committed and qualified professional as an Avionics Technician to strengthen our avionics team. You will make a significant contribution to quality in the production of cable harnesses and avionics assemblies (electronic) for our carrier systems. In this role, you will actively participate in the manufacturing and scaling of our launch systems – from the prototype phase to flight design. For this position, solid knowledge in the electrical field is required, ideally with extensive experience in the production of cable harnesses or avionics assemblies. We believe the ability to reason about and act within physical space is foundational to unlocking the next generation of automation, from construction to smart infrastructure, and ultimately, defense. ABOUT THE ROLE As our Founding Drone & Avionics Technician, you’ll play a key role in getting our fleet of autonomous drones ready for flight. Working closely with our engineering team, you’ll establish our professional-grade avionics shop, build harnesses and integration workflows, and ensure every system is measured, tested, and flight-proven. You won’t just follow instructions, you’ll improve the way we work on your initiative and directly with our engineering team. WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON * Wire & Build: Assemble and test prototype avionics units, including harnesses and electrical subsystems for UAVs * Integrate & Checkout: Install, measure, and verify electronics inside flight vehicles, ensuring robust, repeatable, and high-quality integration * Own the Shop: Set up, organize, and maintain our avionics workspace by selecting quality tools and building out a scalable integration process * Improve & Suggest: Spot design flaws, propose improvements, and help us move faster and build better * Test & Feedback: Support qualification and development testing, from vibration to thermal tests, and loop feedback back to engineering YOUR PROFILE * You’ve completed a technical apprenticeship or training in a relevant field, e.g., Fluggeräteelektroniker, Elektroniker, or you’re EASA-certified * You bring 3+ years of hands-on experience assembling wiring harnesses and electronics, ideally in aerospace or high-reliability systems * You’re proficient in soldering wires, connectors, and PCBs, and you know your way around aerospace crimping and wire tools * You’re comfortable using electronic diagnostic tools and have a solid grasp of troubleshooting workflows * You care about precision, build quality, and structure.
