Position Overview: The Operations Manager role will serve as a critical operations leader within the Reconditioning Special Operations team and be a main resource when on-the-ground at Inspection Centers, supporting ADESA Megasite Integrations. What you’ll be doing: * Ensure successful execution of site integration strategy by effectively managing RSO Teams and Carvana and Adesa associates through the setup and training of each department (operating system, proper tools, training resources, equipment, etc). * Ensure local site teams have all of the necessary tools and training to successfully launch production and implement new processes/procedures in new and existing IC facilities. * Project manage all key aspects of RSO Team initiatives while on site. * Act as a main point-of-contact and resource for all RSO Team members on assignment. * Lead or support continuous improvement projects as needed. * When not traveling, able to support a site’s operations by overseeing multiple reconditioning lines; identifying bottlenecks that affect site throughput and efficiency; conducting root cause analysis, action plans and site execution; and conducting site performance reviews with Senior Reconditioning leadership. Able to fully manage a facility in achievement of targets in production, cost and quality. * Other duties as assigned. What the job requires: To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you. * Ability to travel 80% of the time. * Demonstrated strength across Reconditioning competencies, particularly Communication, Teamwork, and Reasoning. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. * Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment. * Experience leading a team of over 50 associates and a track record of developing employees. * Proven ability to solve urgent operational challenges through root cause analysis. * Excellent communication skills. * 8+ years of management experience either in an automotive or lean manufacturing environment. * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs and no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years). * Must be open to relocation, ideally nationwide but at minimum regionally (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West Coast). * Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance. * Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment. * Ability to work variable schedule(s) as necessary. * Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels. * Must be able to walk up to three miles each day. Implement commissioning design changes and provides mark-ups for as-built project documentation. Acts as key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all stakeholders. Coordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance Certificate. Give feedback to the organization to apply lessons learned and work on continuous improvements together with the team. Apply and improve processes and tools in your technical area to ensure effective project delivery. Your background You enjoy problem-solving and are engaged and driven person who are true team player. You hold a university degree in Electrical, Power electronics engineering, and some years of similar work experience within services or commissioning of electrical power plants and/or control systems. Previous experience from HVDC or FACTS applications is a merit. You can read and understand protection/electrical drawings and technical documents; must be able to disseminate this information to project teams. You communicate effectively and act decisively. You are open to travel up to 80%. Fluency in English, both written and spoken is required to be able to interact with various stakeholders, proficiency in Swedish is an advantage.
