As a Senior Subsea Operations & Layout Engineer you will be involved in all phases of a delivery project related to design, system integration, testing and installation of subsea equipment. You will ensure that subsea systems are fit for purposes, including layout, installation, and operability and that all equipment is designed for safe and efficient testing and installation. The role includes responsibility for subsea layout, system testing and interface management and requires close interaction with internal engineering disciplines, customers and installation contractors.

We are seeking a Senior Subsea Lead Valve Engineer! The Senior Subsea Lead Valve Engineer is responsible for the technical definition, selection, and delivery of valve systems for subsea projects and tenders. The role ensures alignment with client requirements and industry standards while maintaining full overview of scope, cost, schedule, and risk related to valve packages. The position acts as the technical authority toward suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders across all project phases, from early studies to installation and testing. Tasks and responsibilities: • Define valve technical requirements, specifications, and selection strategy in tenders and projects • Act as technical authority for all valve related decisions and ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards • Lead technical clarifications with suppliers during tender and prior to PO placement • Assess supplier capability, qualification and readiness for project execution • Review and approve supplier documentation, design and deviations • Drive valve scope through engineering, procurement, manufacturing and testing phases • Participate in and lead design reviews, ensuring integration into the overall subsea system • Follow up supplier performance to ensure delivery meets quality, cost and schedule requirements • Interface with client representatives as main technical contact for valve scope • Coordinate with systems engineering, procurement, materials and installation teams • Bridge communication between suppliers, yards, and project execution teams • Maintain overall ownership of valve scope including risk management and cost impact • Identify and mitigate technical risks affecting delivery • Provide regular reporting and status updates to project management • Support installation and integration of valve-containing systems • Mentor and support less experienced engineers • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and governing company procedures Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in subsea or offshore engineering • Extensive experience with valve systems, including design, selection and supplier management • Experience working in both tender (pre-PO) and project execution phases Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: • Strong technical knowledge of: - Valve design, actuation and sealing technology - Materials selection, stress and friction behaviour - Industry standards (API, ISO, NORSOK) • Strong engineering judgement and decision-making capability • Ability to work independently and lead technical scope in complex projects • Strong communication skills in English with ability to interface with clients and suppliers • Structured, systematic and proactive work approach • Commercial awareness (cost, schedule, and risk implications) • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) • Ability to mentor and support less experienced engineers Folk can offer: • Good long-term opportunities with our clients • Individual and adapted follow-up while on assignment • Good career development opportunities in an interesting and innovative sector • Competitive terms and conditions Social events and pleasant tokens of appreciation throughout the year We see possibilities in your competence! Senior Subsea Engineer Site: Stavanger Overview: We are seeking a Pre-Commissioning Integration Lead - Subsea to take ownership of pre-commissioning activities for all subsea pipelines and umbilicals related to the R&R scope. This role needs close collaboration with different teams, and other key project stakeholders throughout the execution phase. Key responsibilities: • Lead the planning and execution of pre-commissioning activities for subsea pipelines and umbilicals in line with project design, functional needs, and relevant standards and regulations. • Develop and maintain an integrated pre-commissioning schedule, incorporating input from pipeline/umbilical leads, commissioning/start-up teams, and execution plans. • Ensure weekly alignment and effective communication with different teams to validate readiness, resolve interfaces, and adjust sequencing as needed. • Identify and manage constraints affecting pre-commissioning due to subsea or topside interfaces. • Collaborate with Commissioning Leads and Managers to ensure sequencing, tie-ins, and preservation activities are aligned and effectively coordinated. • Drive performance excellence across safety, quality, schedule, and cost during execution. • Interface closely with Package Delivery Leads to ensure lessons learned, functional needs, and specifications are embedded in design, testing, and installation phases. • Provide technical support and leadership throughout execution. • Own and deliver the full Ready For Operations Certificate (RFOC) scope for the assigned package. • Serve as the technical authority for pre-commissioning, ensuring alignment with Asset Operations expectations. Authority and decision-making: • Make decisions within the boundaries of project basis of design, functional needs, and Management of Change (MOC) guidelines. • Review and recommend or approve vendor MOCs, technical queries (TQs), and deviations, in collaboration with Engineering or Construction Management. Qualifications: • Experience in subsea project execution, with a focus on pre-commissioning, tie-ins, and startup readiness. • Strong technical understanding of subsea pipelines, umbilicals, and associated systems. • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary coordination across engineering, commissioning, construction, and vendors. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Deep commitment to HSE leadership and promoting a “One Team” culture across all parties. • Fluency in Norwegian is preferred.
