Flow Traders is looking for a Staff Engineer to join us in our Amsterdam office. Business & Operational Impact * Partner closely with trading, quant, risk, and operations teams to align technical choices with business value. * Drive automation in post-trade and middle-office workflows (allocations, settlements, reconciliations) to drastically reduce operational risk. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED * 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record operating at a Staff, Principal, or cross-team Lead level. * Proven ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders and drive consensus across multiple teams. * Deep expertise in building distributed, high-performance, and highly reliable backend systems. * Strong proficiency in at least one (or more) core backend language (Python, Go, C++, or Java).Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Databricks, Dataproc) and data pipelines. * Solid understanding of modern infrastructure, observability, and cloud platforms. Nice to have * Deep knowledge of specific financial workflows (ETF creation/redemption, clearing, custody). * Experience with financial reference data, symbology, or instrument modeling. * Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR) and their data lineage requirements. * Solid background in financial services, trading, or market making. * Strong working knowledge of the trading lifecycle (order flow, execution, and post-trade/settlement flows). ABOUT THE ROLE Peloton Electrical Engineers are responsible for the architecture, design, and testing of hardware systems for Peloton products. This early-career position requires working collaboratively with engineers and engineering managers to support product improvement and development initiatives across the entire product lifecycle, from new product introduction through sustaining engineering. ABOUT THE ROLE The Reliability Engineer will be working with the Peloton Hardware Design and Operations teams to lead our new product qualification testing and on-going reliability testing in a fast-growing global fitness business. You will lead Projects, troubleshoot, innovate, and make decisions to help Peloton ensure quality and safety as we continue to innovate our product offerings. YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON * Participate the activity to build and maintain test plans for new product development and sustaining engineering activities, including sample size estimation and reliability goal * Perform product validation and verification with off-the-shelf testing equipment as well as custom built machinery * Manage ODM/OEM partners’ lab and third party lab to complete test task with their own test resource * Participate test development projects to design, build, and automate custom test rigs/fixtures to interact with various pieces of exercise equipment * Assist Validation lead to deliver Validation status and results regularly to facilitate tracking the progress with cross functional team * Assist Validation lead to summarize Validation result with field failure rate estimation to help cross-functional team understand the margin impact * Correspond with NY and Seattle based team with test reports and status updates , which will require morning/evening calls * Collaborate with technicians for various testing activities * Actively perform preliminary root cause/failure analysis to collaborate with & drive cross functional team to resolution * Work with Validation lead to utilize statistical tools to compile the result into impact to real world application * Work multi-functionally with other departments and capture the specific scope of request * Standardize test documentation, including fixtures, test procedures, schematics and software program.
