We're looking for a commercially curious, AI-enthusiastic intern to join our Trading team and take real ownership of client
relationships across the DACH region. You'll work directly alongside our Head of Sales and our Steel Trader, getting hands-on
exposure to live steel deals from day one.
This is not a shadow programme. From the start, you'll be managing real accounts, coordinating active deals, and gradually taking
end-to-end deal ownership as your skills grow. For the right person, this is a direct path to a permanent Account Manager role.
YOUR MISSION We’re looking for a driven and entrepreneurial Account Manager / Sales Manager to own and grow our steel trading business in the DACH region. Your core mission is to grow regional P&L by sourcing, negotiating, and executing profitable B2B steel trading transactions while building long-term relationships with suppliers and buyers. This role blends B2B sales, account management, trading, and business development and plays a key part in scaling Vanilla Steel’s commercial footprint across Europe What you'll do: * Own and grow Vanilla Steel’s steel trading & brokerage activity in the DACH region * Act as the main point of contact for German-speaking buyers and suppliers * Source, negotiate, and close profitable steel trading deals * Manage the full deal lifecycle: pricing, contracts, coordination with operations & logistics * Proactively identify and approach new customers via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and meetings * Develop and manage your own customer portfolio * Maintain clean documentation in our CRM (HubSpot) and internal systems * Analyze trading and sales performance to improve margins and scalability * Share market insights, pricing trends, and customer feedback with the team YOUR PROFILE * Entrepreneurial, target-driven mindset with strong ownership mentality * Experience or strong interest in B2B sales, account management, trading, or business development * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Analytical and structured with a hands-on approach * Comfortable using digital tools and CRM systems (HubSpot is a plus) * Native German and fluent English (written & spoken) * Well-organized and able to manage multiple deals in parallel Nice to have * Experience in steel, metals, commodities, industrial sales, or logistics * Background in a startup, scale-up, or fast-paced sales environment WHY US? * Be part of a fast-growing Berlin-based tech startup revolutionizing the steel industry * Learn from an experienced team and receive ongoing support and mentorship * Work in a dynamic, performance-driven environment that values ownership and autonomy * Enjoy a flexible working model and a vibrant office in the heart of Berlin * Competitive compensation based on experience * Additional perks: Urban Sports Club membership, subsidized BVG ticket * Regular team events and an open, collaborative company culture

About This Role We’re looking for an Account Manager Intern (4–6 months) who wants to learn modern B2B sales from the inside. The title for this position could also be "Sales Development Representative." This internship is centered around outbound sales and meeting generation. You will help create pipeline for our senior Account Executives through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, and email. From day one, you will be exposed to real sales conversations, real prospects, and real revenue targets. You’ll start by supporting the sales team and booking meetings, gradually move into joining and learning from sales calls, and eventually run your own meetings and close deals. This role is ideal if you want hands-on experience in B2B SaaS sales, outbound prospecting, and pipeline management, while working closely with experienced Account Executives. What You’ll Actually Do Generate meetings for the sales team through outbound outreach. You will: Outbound Prospecting Conduct cold calls to decision-makers at target companies. Send personalized LinkedIn messages and connection requests. Run targeted email outreach sequences. Follow up consistently to convert prospects into booked meetings. Meeting Generation Book meetings for senior Account Executives. Ensure meetings are well-qualified and relevant. Maintain your pipeline and activities in HubSpot. Sales Learning & Shadowing Join meetings run by senior Account Executives. Observe how discovery, demos, and closing conversations work. Listen to recorded sales calls and provide feedback. Your end goal: generate a steady flow of meetings and eventually close your own deals. Your Learning & Onboarding Journey We follow a structured ramp-up process to help you develop quickly.
