As an Outbound Account Executive, you'll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced team driving growth and helping entrepreneurs
access the tools they need to succeed.
We are currently building a new, high-performing outbound sales team in Germany.
As an Account Executive – Outbound SMB, you will take full ownership of the entire sales cycle — from identifying and qualifying
target customers to successfully closing deals.
You will work proactively in outbound sales, focusing on established small merchants (upmarket SMBs) with monthly transaction
volumes above €15,000.
In this role, you are not a pure product seller, but a trusted solutions consultant, engaging customers as an equal partner,
understanding their needs, and positioning the right payment and POS solutions.
This newly created position offers you the opportunity to take real ownership, shape processes, and actively develop the German
market.

HEAD OF SDR, EUROPE EU GTM | Barcelona, Spain 📽 Get a feel for our Barcelona office ABOUT THE TEAM SumUp's field sales engine is growing fast across Europe, and the SDR function is at the heart of that growth. Our Sales Development Representatives generate qualified pipelines for high-performing field reps across the UK, France, Germany, and Italy — and we're now building the leadership infrastructure to take this to the next level. This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a European SDR organisation from the ground up: setting the strategy, writing the playbook, and scaling a team that will directly shape how SumUp wins new business at scale. You'll report into senior European Sales leadership and work closely with the Outbound Growth Lead and RevOps to build something that's already proving its value — and needs the right leader to realise its full potential. Responsibilities * Win new business with high-growth technology companies and traditional enterprises across Portugal. * Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, partnering with cross-functional teams including SDR, Product Sales, Solutions Engineering, Risk, and Legal. * Develop outbound strategies to build and nurture pipeline. * Drive deal strategy and lead commercial negotiations for large, complex new business opportunities. * Lead account mapping and coordinate effective meetings with the right stakeholders to advance and close opportunities. * Collaborate with the Regional Partnerships team to drive brand awareness and generate pipeline. Minimum requirements * 6+ years of sales experience, preferably selling a technical product to enterprise customers, with a proven track record of top performance in the Spanish and/or Portuguese market. * Ability to understand technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple products. * Ability to develop and execute account plans spanning multiple business units across complex organisations. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. * Strong presentation skills, particularly for in-person meetings with multiple stakeholders. * Proven ability to lead complex negotiations involving bespoke commercial agreements. * Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. * Genuine interest in technology and a solid understanding of the payments and fintech landscape. * Native or professional proficiency in Spanish and English, Portuguese is a plus * Based in Madrid, Spain (relocation support available).
