About the Technical Lead Role: As a Technical Lead at Nearform, you will be responsible for leading and guiding development teams while working directly with clients to translate business and technical requirements into impactful applications. However, as you’ll likely work on a variety of projects in your time here, your responsibilities may also include: * Provide technical and line-management leadership to your development team. * Take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects. * Identify and resolve blockers before they become issues. * Ensure best practices in software development, DevOps, and agile methodologies are upheld within the team. * Work directly with clients, translating requirements into technical briefs. * Shape and define architectural decisions ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability. * Provide updates to client and Nearform leadership to ensure clear understanding of project status and drive good decision-making. What we are looking for in this person: * Significant experience in software engineering as either a Senior Engineer leading projects and mentoring or as a Technical Lead. For this particular role, you will ideally be using React. * Experience working directly with clients or customers to understand technical requirements. * Experience leading software engineering teams through technical delivery and either direct line management or mentoring. * Deep understanding of agile ways of working, best practices and design patterns. * Deep understanding of test-driven development and testing best practices. * Deep understanding of version control tools, e.g. Git. * Understanding of DevOps practices and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) * Understanding of operational concerns (such as monitoring, performance testing, security considerations, accessibility, GDPR) * Empathy and people skills Nice to have: * Experience with a headless CMS, ideally with Contentful. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development. You will work cross-functionally to shape long-term strategic priorities and initiatives alongside engineering, product, and developer relations. FDEs deliver with customer empathy, integrating with client systems, training, and other technical needs to help customers get most value out of their data. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for builders who thrive at the intersection of technology and business impact. The ideal candidate combines engineering expertise with adaptability, curiosity, and a passion for working with customers and teammates to solve complex problems that drive measurable outcomes. FDEs are billable and know how to complete projects according to specification with exceptional customer empathy.
