This is a 12 month fixed term contract. This posting reflects an existing vacancy. This role is part of our Fanatics inhouse team, where you will be employed by DEPT® but embedded within Fanatics. JOB PURPOSE The CRM Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the email and SMS marketing channel, requiring an autonomous self-starter who makes data-driven decisions and drives measurable business results. The ideal candidate will be an experienced CRM professional who demonstrates the ability to manage comprehensive email and SMS marketing programs with exceptional attention to detail and the capability to deliver clear, compelling messages that drive customer engagement and revenue growth. This role will define and champion highly personalized content experiences for known customers while driving a customer-first mindset. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to meet broader business objectives while maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced retail commerce environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO: * Drive development of comprehensive email and SMS go-to-market calendars across seasonal product categories, product launches, promotional events, key markets, and cross-functional business initiatives. * Plan and implement email and SMS marketing strategies focused on improving key performance indicators including content personalization, visit rates, conversion optimization, list growth, and revenue growth. * Manage high-volume daily campaign delivery, ensuring flawless execution and optimal deliverability across all customer segments. * Foster compelling storytelling to create dynamic, engaging, and authentic brand experiences that reflect company values and strengthen customer affinity. * Oversee the email briefing process, ensuring clear, actionable guidance is provided to creative teams to achieve engaging storytelling while embedding branding principles and personalization at scale. * Collaborate with brand marketing teams to ensure email and SMS content aligns with overall brand voice, seasonal campaigns, and product messaging strategies. * Craft and execute comprehensive experimentation roadmaps including landing page optimization, creative testing, audience segmentation, subject line optimization, and send-time testing. * Implement advanced A/B and multivariate testing strategies to continuously optimize email and SMS performance and drive revenue growth. * Utilize predictive analytics and machine learning capabilities to enhance personalization and customer targeting. * Work in close partnership with CRM Operations teams to ensure campaigns are built, tested, and executed accurately, effectively, and on schedule. * Partner with business management and merchandising teams to align email content with strategic initiatives, inventory management, pricing strategies, and promotional calendars. * Coordinate with customer service teams to ensure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints. * Lead multiple projects concurrently while providing regular performance monitoring and updates to CRM leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners. * Perform real-time and periodic ad hoc analyses to evaluate channel performance, identify optimization opportunities, and provide actionable insights. EXECUTIVE INFLUENCE & STAKEHOLDER LEADERSHIP * Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and executive readouts with clear narratives: performance, implications, trade-offs, decisions required, and next steps. * Influence MFG regional/global teams so Japan priorities shape decisions; engage WPP leadership to secure the right investment and talent. * Ensure compelling storytelling and executive-ready communication (written and verbal). WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE FIRST 30 DAYS * Gain deep understanding of WPP Media operations, platforms, tools, and ways of working; understand the digital landscape and Google’s standards. * Build a clear view of Google Japan priorities (e.g., consumer apps, devices, enterprise, reputation) and how the mandate is governed. * Establish stakeholder map and operating cadence across WPP Media, MFG, MFG Regional, and Google. * Create a clear picture of demand, dependencies, risks, and resourcing needs; develop initial POV on financial health, utilization, and optimization opportunities. IN 6 MONTHS * Earn trust across Planning, Activation, Strategy, Investment, Analytics, Ad Operations, and Business Operations through consistent quality and clarity. * Deliver actionable outside-in POVs and elevate planning outputs (including use of AI where appropriate). * Run disciplined governance: clear ownership, QA gates, risk management, and predictable delivery. * Successfully lead QBRs with strong executive storytelling and clear decision asks. * Proactively improve campaign performance and operational efficiency; lead quarterly resourcing discussions with MFG Regional. * Implement talent development plans and address capability gaps with concrete actions. IN 9–12 MONTHS * Drive measurable improvements in campaign performance, efficiency, and quality; implement scalable processes/tools that reduce errors and rework. * Strengthen and future-proof the team (retention, capability depth, succession). * Improve the Google relationship and client satisfaction (e.g., TRRs) through strategic impact, operational excellence, and trusted partnership. ROLE REQUIREMENTS * 15+ years of experience in media planning, buying, and strategy, with a strong focus on digital. * Experience leading large, complex clients; technology sector experience strongly preferred. * Proven senior stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership experience. * Bachelor’s degree in marketing/advertising or related field; Master’s preferred. As an Account Supervisor, you will oversee the delivery of a wide variety of campaigns. You will project-manage the production process end to end and assist in leading a client services team alongside your global counterparts.
