Your Core Responsibilities System Design and Implementation * Architect and oversee the implementation of advanced HPC systems tailored to high-impact applications, including machine learning workloads * Integrate cutting-edge technologies to enhance computational power and capabilities * Evaluate and select best-in-class hardware and software solutions, optimizing our infrastructure for peak performance, scalability, efficiency, and reliability * Partner with global teams to establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices across HPC environments * Ensure seamless interoperability between different systems and teams, creating a cohesive, high-performance environment that aligns with IMC’s long-term business goals Performance Optimization * Develop and deploy solutions to continuously optimize system performance and resource utilization across the HPC ecosystem * Implement sophisticated monitoring and analytics tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks Project Management * Lead and manage the full lifecycle of HPC projects, from concept through implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards * Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management, driving the successful execution of critical projects * Develop policies for allocating compute time, storage, and networking resources to users based on priority, need, and fairness Collaboration * Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership, offering strategic insights on emerging HPC trends and their potential impact on the trading industry * Collaborate closely with quant researchers, software engineers, and traders to understand computational requirements and translate them into scalable, high-performance solutions * Partner with global teams to coordinate system design, resource allocation, and parallel project delivery, ensuring the consistent expansion of our global research environment * Evaluate success based on the HPC environment’s utilization and end-user satisfaction Your Skills and Experience * Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field * Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in HPC architecture, system design, or a similar role within a large-scale compute environment * Deep expertise in some or all of the following areas: * HPC system design and optimization * Linux systems administration * Enterprise storage solutions (e.g., Vast, DDN, Isilon) * HPC management tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Slurm) * High-performance processors and compute offload devices (e.g., GPUs) * Low-latency network architecture, including high-speed interconnects (e.g., InfiniBand, Ethernet) * Datacenter design and optimization * AI/ML frameworks and their integration into HPC systems * Programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, or similar * Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences * Proven ability to influence decision-making and align global teams to achieve a unified vision The Base Salary range for the role is included below. Trading Engineer - Strategy

We’re looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Trading Engineer to join our Strategy Development team. This role sits at the heart of IMC’s trading operation, where technology, data, and market strategy meet. You’ll own systems that power our trading strategies, build automations that make us faster and smarter, and keep our trading running smoothly under pressure. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with an SRE or operations engineering background who wants to get closer to the action, where milliseconds matter and creativity drives impact. What You’ll Do: * Be on the front lines of trading: Monitor system health and performance in real time, respond to market-driven incidents, and ensure our systems stay up and fast during trading hours. Dive deep into distributed architectures to identify root causes and prevent recurrences. * Engineer away the pain: Build tools and automations that eliminate manual processes, scale our reliability, and free time for innovation. * Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with traders, quants, and developers to deliver high-impact improvements to our trading stack. * Continuously improve: Challenge existing processes, propose creative solutions, and drive reliability and performance through engineering excellence. What You Bring: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field * 3+ years in site reliability, systems engineering, or technical operations, ideally supporting high-performance or real-time systems * A software-development mindset applied to automating operational problems (Python required) * Hands-on experience managing production Linux and Kubernetes environments * Familiarity with Prometheus, SQL/MongoDB, InfluxDB, Kafka, or similar technologies * A proactive, problem-solving mindset. Network Engineer

IMC is seeking experienced Network Engineers who are passionate about building and operating cutting-edge, high-performance networks. You’ll work closely with traders, developers, quants, and performance engineers to design, implement, and support the infrastructure that powers our trading business. Responsibilities: * Design, implement, and support the North American networking environment. Core areas include low-latency networking, unicast and multicast routing, BGP, PIM-SM, performance tuning, gap analysis, and automation. * Monitor and analyze network health using existing tools while contributing ideas and development toward next-generation monitoring solutions. * Continuously improve the environment by contributing to automation efforts (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible, AWX). * Maintain precise documentation of IMC’s network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures. * Collaborate with external vendors, exchanges, and service providers to evaluate technology options, deploy new services, and troubleshoot issues. Requirements: * 8+ years of dedicated network engineering experience * Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities across Ethernet LAN, unicast/multicast routing, switching, packet analysis * Experience with diverse network switching hardware platforms * Hands-on scripting/automation experience (Python, Ansible, etc.) strongly preferred * CCIE or CCNP certification is a plus * Experience in trading or financial services highly preferred While this is a hybrid position, we expect an in-office presence in our Chicago office 3-4 times per week.
