Purpose of the position Weʼre looking for an experienced Full Stack Senior Software Engineer for a new team in our Advertiser tribe to accelerate the delivery of our brand new Affiliate Marketing platform. You Working within one of our agile Engineering teams, you will report to an Engineering Manager. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, UX, and product managers to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and well-tested software for our award-winning marketing platform. You are responsible for writing clean, secure and well-tested code, follow best-practice guidelines and help to improve those guidelines. Your code is open by default and easy for others to reuse. You are part of a team and with the team extend, maintain and operate assigned parts of our platform. As one of the most senior members of the team, you coach and mentor more junior colleagues, participate in knowledge-sharing activities both within your team and the wider Engineering practice. You have a good understanding of the user needs within your service and work with the product manager and other team members to translate these into technical solutions. You work through the entire lifecycle of a service or product, from understanding requirements, translating these into architectural diagrams, to development to deployment, then support and maintenance. You show an understanding for deadlines, find pragmatic solutions and are proactive in raising potential risks. You will help the team in solving the challenges that arise as our business grows and develops; working together to ensure the service continues to meet the needs of our business and its customers. The Team This role is within Team Argonauts in our Advertiser Tribe, part of the Growth Domain. This team are dedicated to serve our Advertisers by building the high value features that they need in our new Affiliate Marketing platform. Team Argonauts is a brand new team - a mix between new hires and new joiners from other teams. This gives you the opportunity to do more than just code and create great software. Youʼll be able to support your new colleagues, influence ways of working and best practices, and establish the culture in this new team. Hard Skills Required * At least 6 years of hands-on experience in commercial Software Engineering roles. * Good experience working with front-end code, ideally using Angular. * Extensive experience in developing cloud software using: * AWS services - Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, Opensearch * Terraform for writing Infrastructure as Code scripts * Typescript * Java v21 with Maven, and Spring Boot v3 Docker * Docker * Understanding of relational database design principles, SQL query optimisation, and proficiency in SQL and non-relational databases like DynamoDB. * Experience and an enthusiasm for using and finding new ways to use AI tools to augment software development practices. * Experience using Git for source control. * Passion for writing elegant code and a desire to constantly refactor and improve, with a good understanding of the SOLID principles. * Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture. * Ability to conduct a thorough code review process, write unit tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines. * A keen interest in agile processes eg.
