What You’ll Do: * Manage, develop, coach and mentor Premier Support Engineers who respond to client requests, reproduce and troubleshoot issues, and dive into Datadog’s 400+ integrations * Act as the owner for your team’s accountability and performance - managing performance reviews, performance plans, and any employee relations issues for your direct reports * Partner with Support team senior leadership to oversee team projects and initiatives to improve productivity, process or procedure * Collaborate with internal teams and customers on high-priority escalations and act as a resource to resolve escalations from team members as necessary Who You Are: * Passionate about people management and/or mentorship with previous experience leading a team, including managing other managers * Self-motivated, detail-attentive, and have a desire for continuous learning  * A critical thinker who defaults to a client-centric approach and uses data to make informed decisions * A tinkerer with some programming experience and a basic knowledge of Linux * Active contribution to open-source projects (code, bug reports, etc.) and the Engineering Community (Meetups, etc.) Datadog values people from all walks of life. Toast is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Identity Management team to play a critical role in developing reliable code and algorithms in our user management, permission, and web services.  We are looking for an engineer who has the ability and drive to make an impact, not only on their own but by also enabling those around them to succeed.   Partnering with stakeholders, product managers, product designers, product data analysts, and other engineers, you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that our practices in the development of our platform are safe and secure.  You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining core services and repositories in Toast, including integrations, managing users, authentication, and permissions. The Toast platform processes tens of millions of requests per day, and this number grows constantly as we add new restaurants and integration partners to our system. The services we develop on this team are essential for Toast’s operation and their resilience and reliability are crucial from a business and user perspective. A day in the life (Responsibilities) * Be part of a team working collaboratively with UX, PM, QA and other engineers designing, building and maintaining high performance, flexible and highly scalable microservices, as well as development of web and mobile applications * Championing best practices such as quality integration, unit testing, end-to-end testing, and performance testing * Tackle scaling challenges and implement robust solutions. * Provide design feedback and participate in code reviews to ensure implementations meet requirements * Monitor feature rollouts to ensure customer success, iterating and improving when necessary. * Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable systems critical to our customers’ success. * Diagnose performance bottlenecks and optimize for better performance. * Ensure that all work done is delivered with quality and is appropriately monitored and supported in production   What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) * Proficient in Java, Kotlin or another object-oriented language, with a deep understanding of testing, quality & best practices. * Understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and enterprise messaging. * Familiar with asynchronous communication tools (e.g., Pulsar, JMS, Kafka). * Proven track record of delivering reliable services to production. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. * A passion for technology and continuous learning. * Enthusiasm for solving impactful challenges and writing clean, scalable code. * The capacity to tackle complex and ambiguous problems, communicate clearly with others to solve the problem, and share knowledge to help the whole team succeed * Experience working in the IAM space is a plus * Experience working in a team with Agile/Scrum methodology **This is a hybrid role requiring in-office collaboration two days per week in our Dublin office.** AI at Toast At Toast, one of our company values is that we're hungry to build and learn.
