Overview
We are expanding our Tech team and are looking for a software engineer to join us. If you want to work with smart and ambitious
people, international customers, large datasets, and solve valuable problems in a small and efficient team, Burt is for you.
You
We believe programming is a craftsmanship that can be applied across programming languages, technologies, and domains. We
primarily work with technologies such as Git, Ruby, Python, Java, AWS, SQL, and TypeScript, but consider knowledge in those areas
a bonus rather than a prerequisite. We expect the right candidate to be a fast learner who can quickly pick up whatever is needed
to solve the problem at hand.
We’re more interested in how you think than how many years you’ve worked. You might be an exceptional recent graduate who learns
quickly and enjoys tackling difficult problems. Or you might have a few years of experience and be ready to contribute from day
one. In both cases, curiosity, problem solving ability, and a willingness to learn matter more than a specific background or
technology stack.
We are looking for someone based close to Gothenburg. The position is semi remote, with regular collaboration both online and in
person.
The Team
We are a small and efficient team, which means we can avoid bureaucracy and get things done. Everyone in the team matters and has
a direct impact on our customers. We constantly strive to get better and value everyone’s ideas. We are a result oriented team,
promoting a culture where freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.
The Role
You will work cross functionally with Product, Success, and Sales, solving customer problems and helping shape the future of our
platform.
You will participate in maintaining and improving our data platform. Customer data is spread across hundreds of different systems,
in various formats, accessed in a variety of ways. Data is collected, normalized, enriched, and combined into a single source of
truth.
You will also help build the next generation of products on top of that data. Reporting, forecasting, anomaly detection,
optimization, AI powered insights, and intelligent workflows are examples of areas you may work on.
This is not a traditional web development role, nor a pure machine learning role. We are looking for engineers who enjoy moving
between different problem domains. One day you might be building a customer facing application, the next improving a forecasting
model, integrating with a third party platform, designing an AI powered workflow, or helping customers uncover insights from their
data.
The technology landscape is evolving rapidly, especially with advances in AI. We are looking for people who are excited by that
change and want to help define what the next generation of data and intelligence products should look like.
