ABOUT THE ROLE As a Delivery Manager in our Energy Transition & Environment team at Faculty, you will act as a pivotal commercial and delivery lead, driving high-stakes AI transformation for the UK’s most critical partners in this space. You will be a key point of contact for both our external clients and internal technical teams, building deep networks of influence and solving complex challenges by bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI research and operational mission needs. With an entrepreneurial spirit, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure every project delivers meaningful, long-term value in a fast-evolving landscape. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: * Owning the end-to-end delivery of our AI projects for prominent clients across the energy and utilities value chain, from initial scoping and daily driving to final implementation * Collaborating with technical, innovation, and other key client teams * Managing projects, driving development and ensuring a delivery approach that provides maximum value to the customer * Forming strong, trusting relationships with customers, internal team members (e.g. data scientists, ML engineers), and technical partners to translate user research into solution requirements and operational impact * Developing and executing compelling proposals to grow our footprint and impact across the Energy Transition sector. * Advising clients on AI strategy and technical implementation, acting as a trusted partner in high-stakes environments (with support from a technical team) * Mentoring your peers and taking a proactive role in building robust processes and practices within the team. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: * You possess experience in consultancy or service-based delivery, allowing you to manage complex project lifecycles and meet critical deadlines under pressure. * You possess a broad understanding of the energy value chain, ideally with demonstrable experience working for relevant players (for example, but not limited to: utilities, suppliers, traders, policymakers/regulators) * You take full responsibility for the successful delivery of your projects, from initial scoping to end-user adoption within regulated businesses * You are an exceptional communicator, with outstanding skills in managing senior stakeholders and translating complex concepts for non-technical audiences. * You are comfortable working with technical teams and have a proven track record of delivering technical projects, ideally in AI. * You are a practical problem-solver, identifying potential risks to important missions in this space and proactively implementing solutions. * You thrive in ambiguous settings and demonstrate a structured approach to problem-solving and delivering high-quality, high-stakes projects. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Manager at Faculty within our Energy Transition & Environment team, you will drive impactful AI transformations across the energy and utilities value chain, including major infrastructure owners (energy and water), renewable energy providers and energy suppliers/traders. You will operate with high autonomy, balancing your time between overseeing high-stakes project delivery and leading strategic business development. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: * Managing the delivery of complex, large-scale AI programmes for prominent clients across the energy and utilities value chain. * Balancing your priorities across hands-on project delivery and proactive/reactive business development. * Leading competitive tender or sales processes independently under the light direction of a Director. * Advising clients on AI strategy and technical implementation, engaging confidently in wide-ranging business and technical discussions (with support from a technical team) * Navigating ambiguous settings flexibly by willingly stepping outside your core job description to support a growing team. * Supporting wider business efforts to ensure maximum strategic flexibility and commercial impact. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: * You bring a strong background in consulting and client management, typically gained through experience in medium to large-sized consultancies. * You possess a broad understanding of the energy value chain, with demonstrable experience working for relevant players (for example, but not limited to: utilities, suppliers, traders, policymakers/regulators), either directly or via consultancy. * You possess sufficient technical nous to engage confidently with clients and internal teams on data science/engineering concepts and AI applications. * You understand the commercial consulting delivery model, allowing you to focus on account growth and project oversight, together with delivery management. * You possess the flexibility to support broader Senior Manager work and embrace an entrepreneurial approach to a highly visible portfolio. * You thrive in ambiguous settings and demonstrate a structured approach to problem-solving and delivering high-quality, high-stakes projects. ABOUT THE ROLE Join us as a Lead Software Engineer, with a focus on Machine Learning, to spearhead the technical direction and delivery of complex, innovative AI projects. You will act as a technical expert, applying your skills across various projects from client-side deployments to advising on AI strategy, while ensuring architectural decisions are sound and reliable. This role demands a balance of deep technical expertise and strong leadership, focusing on driving innovation, fostering team growth, and building reusable solutions across the organisation. If you're ready to manage high-risk projects and deliver practical, innovative outcomes, this is your chance to shape our future. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: * Setting the technical direction and overseeing delivery of high-risk, ill-defined software and infrastructure projects while balancing strategic trade-offs and helping teams prioritise in shifting environments, taking full ownership of successful outcomes for our most challenging projects. * Designing and developing reliable, production-grade ML systems and justifying critical architectural decisions to ensure robust delivery. * Developing clear, comprehensively scoped roadmaps for novel solutions to help customers achieve their strategic goals and accurately estimating effort on large workstreams to ensure successful and timely delivery * Engaging with technical and non-technical customers at all stages of the customer lifecycle, giving reasoned and credible advice and opinions on a broad range engineering topics * Collaborating proactively both within multidisciplinary delivery teams and across the engineering community at Faculty to overcome technical challenges * Coaching team members on specific technologies and driving the development of shared organisational resources and libraries to streamline delivery and improve engineering methods across the company. * Leading the hiring and selection process while mentoring multiple individuals and managers to define the future shape of the engineering team. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: * You are a recognised technical expert who sets the standard for code quality and solution design, possessing the breadth of knowledge to solve almost any problem. * You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are proactive in recommending new technologies or ways of working to keep our offering ahead of the competition. * You bring expert-level experience in at least one major Cloud Solution Provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and have led teams to build full-stack web applications. * You are a proven leader, capable of managing other managers and setting team-wide development goals to elevate client delivery. * You thrive in high-stakes environments, demonstrating the ability to turn innovative ideas into practical, measurable outcomes for global energy operators. * You are a compelling communicator who can confidently defend technical rationales to senior stakeholders and guide both technical and non-technical teams.
