As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be at the heart of developing the next generation of Aira’s intelligent heat pumps and

STEP INTO THE ROLE As Manager Mechanical Design and Technical Writer, you will play a central role in shaping and developing MilDef’s mechanical design capability to support continued growth, innovation, and operational excellence. Leading teams within Mechanical Design, Technical Documentation, Technical Writing, and Engineering Change Management, you will ensure that our product development environment enables scalable, robust, and compliant solutions for demanding defense and mission-critical applications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead and develop teams within Mechanical Design, Technical Documentation, Technical Writing, and Change Management. * Define and govern engineering processes, methods, and tools related to mechanical design and technical documentation. * Drive implementation and continuous optimization of PLM and ECN processes. * Ensure product structures, documentation, manuals, and technical data integrity throughout the lifecycle. * Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to support robust and scalable product development. * Ensure technical documentation fulfills customer, compliance, and lifecycle requirements. * Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements such as CE, RoHS, REACH, and MIL-STD. * Promote standardization, reuse, and continuous improvement across the product portfolio. WHAT YOU BRING * Several years of leadership experience within mechanical design, technical documentation, technical writing, or related engineering disciplines. * Strong experience working with PLM systems, configuration management, and engineering change processes. * Experience developing ruggedized or complex technical solutions within regulated industries. * Understanding of product lifecycle management and documentation control in engineering environments. * Experience from defense, aerospace, industrial technology, or other long-lifecycle industries is considered highly valuable. MERITORIOUS * Experience working with Teamcenter PLM and Autodesk Inventor. * Experience driving digitalization or AI-related engineering initiatives. * Understanding of defense industry standards and customer requirements.
