We're looking for a Competitive Experience Manager to shape the future of competitive play for Clash Royale. This isn't just about
running tournaments – it's about building an ecosystem that makes Royale a destination for competitive players and viewers
worldwide.
Royale has one of the deepest skill ceilings in mobile gaming and a passionate competitive community. We believe competitive play
is core to our long-term success, not a side project. We're looking for someone who can own the vision for what competitive Royale
should become, and then build it.
You'll report to the Marketing Lead and work closely with Game Design, Community, and Live Operations to ensure competitive play

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Own the strategic vision for Clash Royale competitive play, including CRL and partner ecosystem * Drive ecosystem development – from grassroots tournaments to global championships * Build and maintain relationships with tournament organizers, broadcast partners, and competitive creators * Collaborate with Game Design on competitive health, formats, and in-game integration * Identify opportunities to grow the competitive audience and deepen player investment * Manage operational partners while keeping focus on long-term ecosystem growth WHAT YOU HAVE * 5+ years in esports, competitive gaming, or related entertainment roles * Experience owning strategy, not just execution – you've shaped direction, not just followed it * Strong understanding of competitive gaming ecosystems and what makes them thrive * Excellent relationship-building skills with partners, creators, and internal stakeholders * Ability to balance long-term vision with scrappy, fast execution * Passion for competitive gaming and a player-first mentality * A self-starter approach to use AI. You've found ways to use it in your day-to-day work, you experiment, figure things out and bring the same energy to every new challenge. * Located in or willing to relocate to Helsinki WOULD BE NICE IF YOU ALSO HAVE * Experience with mobile esports specifically * Background working with game development teams on competitive features * Understanding of Clash Royale's competitive scene and community
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER TO JOIN THE CLASH ROYALE TEAM TO DRIVE PLAYER ENGAGEMENT AND BUSINESS GROWTH THROUGH LIVE OPERATIONS, AND MONETIZATION-RELATED INITIATIVES. YOU GET TO OWN AND EXECUTE ON MULTIPLE AREAS OF THE GAME, ALL WHILE PROVIDING UNMATCHED PLAYER EXPERIENCES. As a member of a Live Ops pod within a game team, you will deliver on goals for the growth of your game by channeling a razor-sharp focus on performance and operational excellence to ensure you find the right balance. You will utilize game data, competitive research, and player feedback to optimize existing and formulate new engagement and monetization strategies, and then collaborate with cross-functional teams in order to translate these into player-facing features and initiatives. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Take full ownership and accountability for several elements of live operations and/or monetization (which will be mutually agreed based on your profile and interest). * Define the roadmap and action plan for owned areas, ensuring it integrates seamlessly into the broader live operations and monetization strategy. * Define and track your own goals for all major initiatives that will be feeding into high-level targets of the game. * Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and multivariate experiments to optimize player experience, and business impact. * Seek for feedback and alignment on your plans, and collaborate effectively within a cross-disciplinary pod that will support you in executing your initiatives. * Bring to the team an understanding of best-in-class F2P live ops activities, feature design and monetization mechanics WHAT YOU HAVE * At least 6 years of experience as a Product Manager in free-to-play mobile games. * Good understanding of engagement drivers and monetization design in live service games. * Strong ownership, hands-on approach, and impact-driven focus on constantly pushing game performance and delivering fantastic player experiences. * Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an emphasis on metrics-driven decision making. * Constantly looking for new experiments and ways to improve performance, with the ability to make data driven decisions and recommendations. * Comfortable taking calculated risks, learning and sharing the lessons learned. WHAT YOU HAVE * Extensive experience in free-to-play mobile games. * Demonstrated track record and experience in running and growing a live free-to-play game. * Sound product judgment, ability to formulate live ops strategy and present clear, measurable key results that will lead to achieving business goals. * Hands-on approach and impact-driven focus on constantly pushing game performance and delivering fantastic player experiences. * Deep understanding of economy and monetization design, as well as of engagement drivers in live service games. * Partnering with the design craft in working with an hypothesis driven approach, with clear measurable goals to drive growth. * Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an emphasis on metrics-driven decision making * Comfortable taking calculated risks, learning and sharing the lessons learned. * Extensive knowledge of live operations and monetization trends within the free-to-play business model. * A self-starter approach to use AI. EXPECTATIONS * During the interview process we will be going deep into the game so if you aren't currently playing we would expect you to start before entering the process to have more meaningful conversations. WHERE YOU'LL BE This role is based either in Helsinki or London. The Clash of Clans team members are located both in our Helsinki and London Studios.
