LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach.  The Project Engineer supports the successful delivery of engineering and commissioning projects within the Data Centre sector. Reporting to the Project Site Coordinator, the role provides technical support, project coordination, investigation, reporting, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client, quality, and company requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support the planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities. * Review project scope, technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables. * Monitor project progress, identify technical risks, and support mitigation and recovery plans. * Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams. * Conduct site investigations, troubleshoot technical issues, and execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Step Gap Analysis (SGA). * Prepare technical reports, project documentation, lessons learned, risk assessments, and project status updates. * Track corrective and preventive actions, ensuring timely closeout and continuous improvement. * Support the development of engineering standards, procedures, work instructions, and best practices. * Promote compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and client requirements across all project activities. * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and operational excellence initiatives. * Support Lean, Six Sigma, digitalisation, and continuous improvement programmes. * Undertake any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned within the scope of the role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong understanding of engineering project delivery, commissioning, and construction processes. * Experience conducting technical investigations and structured problem-solving using RCA methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.). * Excellent technical writing, reporting, and documentation skills. * Strong analytical, organisational, and project coordination abilities. * Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. * Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management/document control systems. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. * Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This role ensures safe, high-quality installation of electrical equipment, wiring, and instrumentation devices in compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Reporting to the Installation Supervisor, you will support subcontractors, perform installation checks, and prepare systems for commissioning. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Install and terminate electrical cabling, wiring, conduits, and cable trays. * Mount and wire electrical panels, distribution boards, and control cabinets. * Install instrumentation devices including sensors, meters, and monitoring systems. * Perform installation verification and prepare systems for commissioning. * Assist in subcontractor supervision and coordinate with mechanical and commissioning teams. * Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including LOTO and RAMS. * Complete documentation and checklists for handover to commissioning teams. * May be required to perform some Mechanical tasks on site - elementary tasks, torquing, making connections etc.  * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.    SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation practices. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in industrial environments. * Effective communication and coordination skills. The position works closely with owners, construction teams, commissioning agents, engineers, and trade partners to ensure electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The individual will support commissioning readiness, quality compliance, and successful project delivery across all project phases. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support electrical commissioning activities across all project phases, from design review through startup, functional testing, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and final handover. * Review Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, electrical specifications, one-line diagrams, shop drawings, and sequences of operation to support commissioning readiness. * Develop and execute electrical commissioning procedures, pre-functional checklists, functional test scripts, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) procedures. * Coordinate commissioning activities with owners, construction management teams, engineering, subcontractors, OEMs, and commissioning stakeholders. * Perform installation verification and QA/QC walkdowns to confirm systems are installed in accordance with project specifications and approved drawings. * Inspect switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, RPPs, busway, MCCs, panelboards, protective relays, grounding systems, and associated electrical infrastructure. * Witness and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), pre-functional inspections, energization activities, functional performance testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST). * Verify electrical installations including cable routing, terminations, torque verification, insulation resistance testing, grounding continuity, labeling, and asset tagging. * Validate breaker settings, protective relay coordination, alarms, interlocks, failover sequences, control logic, and system integration prior to turnover. * Support electrical startup, energization planning, switching activities, load bank testing, and system restoration while maintaining strict adherence to safety requirements. * Identify, document, and track commissioning deficiencies, punch list items, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) through final closeout. * Verify corrective actions and perform re-inspections to ensure compliance with project quality requirements. * Maintain commissioning documentation including inspection reports, test records, issue logs, turnover packages, and final commissioning reports. * Utilize commissioning management platforms and document control systems to monitor system readiness, testing progress, and project documentation. * Ensure compliance with project specifications, NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA, owner standards, and applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. * Participate in commissioning coordination meetings and provide updates on system readiness, quality metrics, commissioning progress, and outstanding issues. * Support owner acceptance, turnover documentation, and training activities for facility operations teams. * Collaborate with commissioning leads, construction teams, and QA/QC personnel to promote commissioning best practices and continuous improvement. * Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with LOTO procedures, energized electrical work practices, and site EH&S requirements. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong knowledge of electrical commissioning processes within mission-critical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities. * Experience commissioning medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems including switchgear, UPS systems, generators, transformers, MCCs, PDUs, RPPs, and protective relays. * Strong understanding of QA/QC principles, inspection processes, and electrical construction quality standards. * Experience supporting FAT, SAT, pre-functional inspections, functional testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST). * Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, control schematics, IFC drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation. * Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA, and industry commissioning standards. * Experience with commissioning software platforms, issue tracking systems, and document control applications. * Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment. * Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. * OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred. * NETA certification preferred. * NFPA 70E Electrical Safety training preferred.
