ABOUT THE ROLE

Cloudflare is looking for a Director of Strategic Finance & Investor Relations to serve as a key leader on our Investor Relations

team and a trusted partner to the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership. This role reports to the VP of Strategic Finance, Treasury,

Deal Desk, & Investor Relations and is the engine room of how Cloudflare tells its financial story to the public markets —

translating one of the most differentiated technology platforms in the world into a clear, credible, and compelling investment

narrative.

You will own the end-to-end quarterly earnings cycle, drive our long-term financial model and consensus discipline, partner

directly with the CFO and senior leadership on guidance, and lead the analytical and communications work behind every major

investor and analyst touchpoint — quarterly calls, conferences, our annual Investor Day, and ad-hoc executive projects. You will

be the connective tissue between Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, Product, Sales, and the executive team, and the

person who makes sure every number, every claim, and every word we put in front of Wall Street is accurate.

This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role on a very lean IR team. We move fast, we ship work that goes directly to the CEO,

CFO, Board, and public markets, and we hold ourselves to an exceptionally high bar on accuracy — and we are AI-native in how we

work, treating modern tooling as a force multiplier on insight, productivity, and rigor.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Director, Strategic Finance & Investor Relations, you will be the operational and analytical lead for Cloudflare's

engagement with the public markets. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Quarterly earnings and consensus management

Own the end-to-end quarterly earnings process: press release, supplemental financial information, prepared remarks (CEO and CFO

scripts), Q&A prep, investor deck, and supporting validation work.

Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to develop the company's guidance (including share count forecasting) and own the

executive-facing materials that frame guidance decisions, sensitivity ranges, and the trade-offs in how we communicate them.

Lead the Q&A preparation process — anticipated questions, suggested answers, peer transcript triangulation, key stats and proof

points, and live-call backup material.

Lead the post-earnings analyst callback program, including coordinating callbacks with ~30 sell-side analysts across CEO and

CFO sessions.

Drive earnings materials validation — the cross-check pass that ensures every figure, claim, and disclosure across the press

release, supplemental, scripts, Q&A, deck, 10-Q, and 10-K ties out and is internally and externally consistent.

Investor engagement and external communications

Serve as a primary point of contact for sell-side analysts and institutional investors; build and maintain strong, trust-based

relationships with our covering analysts and shareholders.

Articulate the Cloudflare investment narrative — our connectivity cloud strategy, the Workers and Developer Platform story, and

our long-term financial model — in a way that is both compelling and credible.

Plan and execute the calendar of investor events: sell-side conferences, one-on-ones, on-site investor visits, and our annual

Investor Day.

Prepare the CEO, CFO, and other senior executives for every investor interaction with tailored briefing materials, talking

points, and Q&A prep.

Develop and maintain core IR collateral: investor presentation, fact sheets, IR website content, and board-of-directors

investor update materials.

Investor Day and special projects

Co-lead the planning and execution of our annual Investor Day — invite tracker and registration management, co-author all

presentation content and prepared remarks across all presenters, own the supporting documentation, validation, day-of

logistics, and post-event follow-through.

Lead select strategic finance projects: peer benchmarking analyses, long-range financial modeling, competitive analyses, and

ad-hoc executive-level financial analyses.

Cross-functional partnership and analytics

Be a trusted partner to Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, FP&A, and the executive team — the person who knows where

every number comes from and what it means.

Monitor and synthesize analyst coverage, peer performance, investor sentiment, market dynamics, and industry trends; provide

actionable insights to the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors.

Build and maintain the internal analytical infrastructure that powers the function — the models, dashboards, trackers, and

validation systems that let a small team operate at scale.

Drive the IR function's use of AI-native tooling and automation, treating modern tools as a force multiplier on insight,

productivity, accuracy, and stakeholder communications.

EXAMPLES OF DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

To succeed in this role, you should be a strategic thinker with deep financial acumen, exceptional written and verbal

communication skills, an ownership mindset, and a genuine intellectual curiosity about both the business and the public markets.

Specifically:

* 10+ years of experience combining investor relations, equity research, investment banking, FP&A, corporate finance, or equity

investing — ideally with meaningful time in-house at a high-growth public technology company.

Deep technical fluency with public-company reporting, financial statements, capital markets, valuation methodologies, and

SaaS / consumption-based revenue models. Comfort debating modeling assumptions and valuation mechanics.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — including the ability to draft in the voice of senior executives,

translate complex technical or financial concepts into clear narratives for non-technical audiences, and operate confidently

in high-stakes external communications.

Advanced financial modeling skills — fluency in building, maintaining, and stress-testing operating models, share-count and

dilution forecasts, guidance sensitivity analyses, and consensus benchmarks.

An ownership mindset — comfort owning a process end-to-end, driving operational structure in a fast-paced environment, and

operating with the integrity and accuracy demanded by external disclosure.

High-trust collaboration — the ability to build credibility quickly with senior internal stakeholders (CFO, CEO, Board,

Legal, Accounting, FP&A) and external stakeholders (sell-side analysts, institutional investors).

AI-native curiosity and skill — fluency with modern AI tooling and a track record of using it to amplify your impact. We are

Sound judgment with confidential information — a clear understanding of materiality, fair disclosure, Reg FD, and the

In this high-visibility individual-contributor role, you'll be the engine behind how we forecast the topline—designing the methodology, running the planning cycles, and translating complex outputs into clear narratives for senior leadership. You'll partner closely with the Accounting, Business Operations, Anaplan, and broader FP&A teams. We're looking for someone who instinctively automates—using AI and agentic tooling to replace manual work, tighten the loop between fresh data and the forecast, and improve accuracy every cycle—so you can focus on the strategic, high-impact analysis that drives decisions. In this role, you'll own the core logic, methodology, and forecast quality of our revenue model, and use that expertise to raise the bar on modeling across the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES * Own the end-to-end revenue forecast—driving design, execution, and continuous improvement across monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles, including variance analysis, scenario planning, and executive reporting for all topline metrics. * Build and maintain the connection between bookings, ARR, and recognized revenue, applying sound methodology to drivers, assumptions, and retention/churn dynamics. * Architect robust, multi-scenario models that link operational drivers to the financial forecast—supporting long-range planning, investment prioritization, and executive "what-if" analysis. * Continuously automate and scale the forecasting process—leveraging AI and agentic tooling to reduce manual effort, move toward real-time data, and improve accuracy every cycle. * Partner with Revenue Accounting, FP&A, and Business Operations to ensure the model reflects the latest strategic context, business drivers, and operational realities. * Deliver clear, actionable insights through executive reporting, variance commentary, board materials, and earnings preparation—distilling a complex, often-incomplete dataset into a crisp narrative. * Support high-impact special projects and ad hoc analysis for senior leadership. * This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Finance. DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE * 10+ years of progressive experience in investment banking, private equity, FP&A, revenue finance, or a similar highly analytical role; high-growth, public-company SaaS experience preferred but not required. * Deep revenue-modeling expertise: you've architected revenue forecast models from scratch and understand how bookings convert to recognized revenue, ideally across both subscription and usage-based models. * A strong bias for automation: hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Windsurf/Devin, Cursor, OpenCode) to automate workflows, accelerate modeling, and analyze large datasets—and a genuine drive to push how far that can go. * Systems-thinker: you think in terms of data, logic layers, and repeatable process—not just spreadsheets. Experience with financial planning systems (Anaplan a plus) and comfort with data structures. * Expert proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce) is a plus. * Intellectually curious and rigorous, with a first-principles problem-solving orientation. COMPENSATION Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. * For San Francisco Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $188,000 - $259,000. * For Washington based hires: Estimated annual salary of $179,000 - $246,000. * For Colorado based hires: Estimated annual salary of $163,000 - $204,000.
