ABOUT THE ROLE

We want to find the best people to join our team and then help you to do your best work. The Employee Relations Team is a new

Center of Excellence within the People Team, with the mission to ensure our organization’s treatment of every employee is fair,

respectful, and consistent with our Cloudflare Capabilities. To support that mission, this position’s responsibilities fall into

proactive and reactive categories. Reactive responsibilities include handling complex investigations and partnering with business

leaders on the performance management process. Proactive responsibilities include identifying and addressing trends to improve the

overall employee experience at Cloudflare.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will report to the Sr. Director, Employee Relations and support our Americas People Team Business Partners

(PTBPs). You will be partnering with key stakeholders across Cloudflare in various ways, including those listed below:

Operate as a trusted advisor, consulting with PTBPs and senior business leaders on complex organizational issues and

challenging assumptions to create solutions that solve business problems.

Conduct complex and thorough investigations into employee relations matters, providing fair and objective recommendations for

resolution.

Adhere to service level agreements for timely response and follow up to issues, including appropriate use of the case

management system, effective and thorough documentation and reporting, and all associated processes.

Build, analyze, and maintain ER metrics and present data to People Team partners on a quarterly basis.
Conduct in-depth root cause analysis of ER trends, presenting data-driven stories in business language to influence talent

decisions and advise on the productivity impact of attrition.

Provide advice and guidance to managers in assigned business units to address employee performance issues, including the

administration of the PIP or Package process.

Partner with the Learning and Development Team to develop training workshops/classes/toolkits for leaders.
Assist with the updating of Company policies and responding to inquiries and concerns.
Lead and coordinate major global ER projects, requiring significant analysis and the development of innovative solutions that

have a broad impact on the ER model and company policy.

Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including Legal Compliance, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments to

resolve employee issues in a timely manner.

ABOUT THE ROLE Cloudflare is looking for a Director of Strategic Finance & Investor Relations to serve as a key leader on our Investor Relations team and a trusted partner to the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership. This role reports to the VP of Strategic Finance, Treasury, Deal Desk, & Investor Relations and is the engine room of how Cloudflare tells its financial story to the public markets — translating one of the most differentiated technology platforms in the world into a clear, credible, and compelling investment narrative. You will own the end-to-end quarterly earnings cycle, drive our long-term financial model and consensus discipline, partner directly with the CFO and senior leadership on guidance, and lead the analytical and communications work behind every major investor and analyst touchpoint — quarterly calls, conferences, our annual Investor Day, and ad-hoc executive projects. You will be the connective tissue between Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, Product, Sales, and the executive team, and the person who makes sure every number, every claim, and every word we put in front of Wall Street is accurate. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role on a very lean IR team. WHAT YOU’LL DO As the Director, Strategic Finance & Investor Relations, you will be the operational and analytical lead for Cloudflare's engagement with the public markets. Your primary responsibilities will include: Quarterly earnings and consensus management * Own the end-to-end quarterly earnings process: press release, supplemental financial information, prepared remarks (CEO and CFO scripts), Q&A prep, investor deck, and supporting validation work. * Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to develop the company's guidance (including share count forecasting) and own the executive-facing materials that frame guidance decisions, sensitivity ranges, and the trade-offs in how we communicate them. * Lead the Q&A preparation process — anticipated questions, suggested answers, peer transcript triangulation, key stats and proof points, and live-call backup material. * Lead the post-earnings analyst callback program, including coordinating callbacks with ~30 sell-side analysts across CEO and CFO sessions. * Drive earnings materials validation — the cross-check pass that ensures every figure, claim, and disclosure across the press release, supplemental, scripts, Q&A, deck, 10-Q, and 10-K ties out and is internally and externally consistent. Investor engagement and external communications * Serve as a primary point of contact for sell-side analysts and institutional investors; build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with our covering analysts and shareholders. * Articulate the Cloudflare investment narrative — our connectivity cloud strategy, the Workers and Developer Platform story, and our long-term financial model — in a way that is both compelling and credible. * Plan and execute the calendar of investor events: sell-side conferences, one-on-ones, on-site investor visits, and our annual Investor Day. * Prepare the CEO, CFO, and other senior executives for every investor interaction with tailored briefing materials, talking points, and Q&A prep. * Develop and maintain core IR collateral: investor presentation, fact sheets, IR website content, and board-of-directors investor update materials. Investor Day and special projects * Co-lead the planning and execution of our annual Investor Day — invite tracker and registration management, co-author all presentation content and prepared remarks across all presenters, own the supporting documentation, validation, day-of logistics, and post-event follow-through. * Lead select strategic finance projects: peer benchmarking analyses, long-range financial modeling, competitive analyses, and ad-hoc executive-level financial analyses. Cross-functional partnership and analytics * Be a trusted partner to Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, FP&A, and the executive team — the person who knows where every number comes from and what it means. * Monitor and synthesize analyst coverage, peer performance, investor sentiment, market dynamics, and industry trends; provide actionable insights to the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors. * Build and maintain the internal analytical infrastructure that powers the function — the models, dashboards, trackers, and validation systems that let a small team operate at scale. * Drive the IR function's use of AI-native tooling and automation, treating modern tools as a force multiplier on insight, productivity, accuracy, and stakeholder communications. In this high-visibility individual-contributor role, you'll be the engine behind how we forecast the topline—designing the methodology, running the planning cycles, and translating complex outputs into clear narratives for senior leadership. You'll partner closely with the Accounting, Business Operations, Anaplan, and broader FP&A teams. We're looking for someone who instinctively automates—using AI and agentic tooling to replace manual work, tighten the loop between fresh data and the forecast, and improve accuracy every cycle—so you can focus on the strategic, high-impact analysis that drives decisions. In this role, you'll own the core logic, methodology, and forecast quality of our revenue model, and use that expertise to raise the bar on modeling across the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES * Own the end-to-end revenue forecast—driving design, execution, and continuous improvement across monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles, including variance analysis, scenario planning, and executive reporting for all topline metrics. * Build and maintain the connection between bookings, ARR, and recognized revenue, applying sound methodology to drivers, assumptions, and retention/churn dynamics. * Architect robust, multi-scenario models that link operational drivers to the financial forecast—supporting long-range planning, investment prioritization, and executive "what-if" analysis. * Continuously automate and scale the forecasting process—leveraging AI and agentic tooling to reduce manual effort, move toward real-time data, and improve accuracy every cycle. * Partner with Revenue Accounting, FP&A, and Business Operations to ensure the model reflects the latest strategic context, business drivers, and operational realities. * Deliver clear, actionable insights through executive reporting, variance commentary, board materials, and earnings preparation—distilling a complex, often-incomplete dataset into a crisp narrative. * Support high-impact special projects and ad hoc analysis for senior leadership. * This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Finance. DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE * 10+ years of progressive experience in investment banking, private equity, FP&A, revenue finance, or a similar highly analytical role; high-growth, public-company SaaS experience preferred but not required. * Deep revenue-modeling expertise: you've architected revenue forecast models from scratch and understand how bookings convert to recognized revenue, ideally across both subscription and usage-based models. * A strong bias for automation: hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Windsurf/Devin, Cursor, OpenCode) to automate workflows, accelerate modeling, and analyze large datasets—and a genuine drive to push how far that can go. * Systems-thinker: you think in terms of data, logic layers, and repeatable process—not just spreadsheets. Experience with financial planning systems (Anaplan a plus) and comfort with data structures. * Expert proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce) is a plus. * Intellectually curious and rigorous, with a first-principles problem-solving orientation.
