About the role
Based near Immingham Docks, this role offers the flexibility to choose between general haulage or fridge work with 4o4o, tramping,
days or night shifts to suit your lifestyle. As a key link in our international supply chain, you’ll work with DFDS‑owned trailers
and equipment from our terminals and vessels, as part of Northern Europe’s largest integrated shipping and logistics network.
Days/Tramping Package
Basic: Weekly £680.59/£14.48 per hour
Overtime (Mon – Sat): £15.00 per hour
Overtime (Sun): £16.52 per hour
All hours paid for including breaks. All CPC Training provided by DFDS Killingholme during working hours.
About you
You’re a professional Class 1 Driver who takes pride in doing the job right. Whether your background is in general haulage, fridge
work, or both, you’re thorough with vehicle checks, safety-conscious, and confident working independently.
You’re up to date with your CPC, DIGI card, and driving hours, and you bring a customer-first attitude to every job. Experience
with ferry trailers or dockside operations is a bonus.
This role is ideal for someone seeking steady, well-organised work with a supportive transport team.

Alongside training, the role will involve: * Safely operating Class 1 vehicles to transport goods to and from the Port of Immingham. * Ensuring timely and efficient delivery in line with DFDS schedules and customer expectations. * Carrying out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly. * Accurately completing all relevant paperwork and use on-board systems as required. * Adhering to all road safety regulations, tachograph laws, and company policies. * Communicating effectively with port staff, planners, and the DFDS transport team. * Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times, representing DFDS standards. About you The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified or experienced Class 1 (C+E) driver who holds a valid CPC qualification and a Digital Tachograph (DIGI) card. They should demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to develop their skills within a busy logistics operation. Reliability, punctuality, and confidence in handling articulated vehicles are essential, along with a sound understanding of transport regulations. About the role You’ll be responsible for transporting chilled and ambient products, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to distribution points and customer sites. This is a hands-on role suited to a reliable driver who enjoys working independently while still being part of a supportive team. You will be responsible for: * Driving Class 1 vehicles on chilled and ambient routes across Ireland * Carrying out deliveries safely, professionally, and on time * Monitoring fridge units and temperature requirements when handling chilled loads * Completing daily walkaround checks and reporting defects * Ensuring accurate completion of delivery notes and paperwork * Following all road transport regulations, including driver hours and tachograph requirements * Securing loads correctly and assisting with loading/unloading as needed About you You’ll need a valid Class 1 HGV licence, Driver CPC, and tachograph card. Experience with chilled work is an advantage but not essential, as training can be provided. You’ll be reliable, safety‑focused, and comfortable working with both chilled and ambient products.
