WHY JOIN BARINGA’S STRATEGY & TRANSACTIONS PRACTICE? We are a rapidly growing global team of transactions and strategy experts, who are striving to be the global go-to provider for deal advisory work in Energy, Utilities, and Renewable Infrastructure. Our work spans the value chain of these sectors, including technology, services, manufacturing and supply chain. We mostly work with Private Equity, Infrastructure and Corporate clients - they tell us they love our 'speed to insight'. This is because we staff teams not just with Commercial Due Diligence experts but also with sector specialists; this approach places a much lower emphasis on external experts and allows us to leverage Baringa's unique IP and bankable models that have been built up through years of Energy / Utilities / Infrastructure sector leadership. Despite our rapid growth, we pride ourselves on our collaborative and open culture, and the entrepreneurial spirit of the team. We are now an established team of over 50 in the UK and are also looking to rapidly scale our EU, US, APAC and Australia teams. This makes it a very exciting time to join and help shape the future direction of Baringa's Strategy & Transactions practice. We committed to creating the 'best place to work in transactions and strategy'; come and play a role in this exciting journey. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our leading Strategy & Transactions practice at Analyst/Consultant level. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team focused on deal advisory (Commercial Due Diligence) and growth strategy in the Energy, Utilities, and Renewable Infrastructure sectors. Day-to-day the role will involve: * Supporting corporate and private equity clients with market entry strategy/analysis, identifying investment themes and potential targets * Conducting buy and sell-side commercial due diligence * Undertaking qualitative assessments of client / target markets, including primary research, leveraging secondary sources and bringing in Baringa colleagues’ expertise * Performing robust quantitative analysis, including market size estimations and business plan assessments * Preparing clear, concise, written deliverables and presenting these findings in a confident and engaging manner We differentiate by running blended teams of strategy / transaction experts with sector specialists, bringing hands-on expertise from across Baringa to our clients. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE We are looking for individuals with strong analytical capability and a clear interest in commercial due diligence and strategy within the energy and infrastructure sectors. Specifically, we are looking for: * Initial exposure to strategy or commercial due diligence work (e.g. market assessment, competitor analysis, market sizing, growth strategy, market entry strategy), or exposure to these processes in an industry context * Interest in working on energy focused projects, and broader energy value chain * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure and interpret complex data * Collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment * Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to contribute to high-quality written deliverables * Motivation to be part of a high-growth team and contribute to its development * Candidates should be comfortable with international travel, which may be required for up to 30% of the time and must be able to travel and work within the EU/UK. We value individuals who combine strong analytical thinking with a pragmatic, team-oriented mindset and who contribute positively to our culture as well as our client work.
