We’re looking for a Rider Onboarding Associate to join our UKI team. This is a remote role with significant field-based travel,
with positions available across Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, and London. In this role, you’ll work directly on the
ground to source and onboard riders, ensuring our marketplace always has the right supply to meet customer demand.

In this role, you’ll help us build, scale, and optimise our physical onboarding ecosystem, directly securing the rider fleet capacity needed to power our three-sided marketplace. This sub-team acts as the operational foundation for rider supply across the United Kingdom and Ireland, managing logistical scaling challenges to ensure the fleet meets real-time marketplace demand. Owing to the strategic scope of this seniority level, your responsibilities are split across two core operational pillars: Strategy, Design & Scaling * Optimise hub performance: Evolve the format and structural workflow of our physical Rider Onboarding Hubs to maximise operational efficiency before, during, and after daily sessions. * Scale the footprint: Design, operationalise, and expand physical onboarding spaces across the UKI, implementing standardised systems to maintain high-quality service for all applicants. * Drive the strategic roadmap: Architect and execute the 12-month delivery plan for in-person onboarding, balancing expansion with strict time and cost efficiencies. * Cross-functional problem solving: Partner with Rider Support, Product, and broader Onboarding teams to troubleshoot live operational issues and funnel on-the-ground intelligence into long-term system enhancements. Field Operations & Fleet Enablement * Deliver field onboarding: Travel extensively across the UKI to lead face-to-face onboarding sessions and support localised operations within regional hubs. * Manage local supply constraints: Target and eliminate rider deficits in hard-to-source zones, collaborating with the Supply team to build accurate demand forecasting models. * Execute seasonal campaigns: Lead tactical supply planning and execution for peak trading seasons to stay ahead of consumer and partner growth. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO THRIVE Essential * Sector experience: Proven operational experience within technology, start-ups, food delivery logistics, or direct experience working as a Deliveroo Rider. * Autonomy and resilience: A self-starter mindset with a demonstrated ability to work independently in the field, navigate changing operational priorities, and use your own initiative. * Stakeholder management: Strong empathetic listening and communication skills, with the capability to influence internal product teams and manage candidate groups. * Mobility and licensing: A valid UKI driving licence and access to your own vehicle for locations underserved by public transport, along with the flexibility to travel early and late. Nice to Have * Technical tools: Familiarity with G Suite, Slack, Looker, and Salesforce tooling. * Language skills: Professional proficiency in Portuguese or Arabic. Associate Vendor Manager - Deliveroo HOP Location - London, UK About Deliveroo HOP At Deliveroo Hop, we are building a global grocery retailer from the ground up. Launched in September 2021, Deliveroo Hop is Deliveroo’s rapid grocery delivery service, bringing customers the freshest, tastiest food and essential items to their door in as little as 20 minutes. We are live across the UK, UAE and Italy, and have ambitious plans to become the world’s leading on-demand grocery proposition. We’re looking for highly driven, entrepreneurial individuals to help us build the leading speedy grocery delivery service. About the Role The Associate Vendor Manager plays a critical role within the Deliveroo Hop Commercial team, with clear accountability for the day-to-day account management and commercial performance of a defined portfolio of vendor partners. This role combines commercial ownership, account management, trading execution, and cross-functional coordination to drive vendor growth, operational excellence, and customer experience. The Associate Vendor Manager acts as the primary point of contact for their vendors and is responsible for delivering against revenue, margin, availability, and in-app performance targets. The role requires strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, relationship management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth retail environment. Key Responsibilities 1. VENDOR ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & COMMERCIAL OWNERSHIP * Own the day-to-day management of a portfolio of vendor accounts. * Act as the primary commercial contact for vendors, building strong, collaborative relationships. * Lead joint business planning (JBP) processes with vendors to align on growth opportunities and performance targets. * Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying risks and opportunities across revenue, margin, availability and promotional performance. * Negotiate cost prices, funding agreements, and promotional mechanics to drive commercial outcomes. Support the Senior Vendor Manager in developing new commercial partnerships and expanding existing relationships. * Lead new vendor onboarding, set-up and commercial processing. 2. TRADING & RANGE STRATEGY * Own product selection, ranging and promotional planning for assigned vendors. * Identify and list new products in line with customer needs, market trends and competitive benchmarking. * Continuously review assortment performance and rationalise underperforming SKUs. * Manage pricing strategy in collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure competitiveness and margin delivery. * Drive category growth through strategic product launches and seasonal activations. 3. MERCHANDISING & IN-APP PERFORMANCE * Manage in-menu merchandising to maximise visibility, conversion and sales growth. * Oversee menu management including imagery, product descriptions, and uploads to ensure best-in-class in-app execution. * Ensure high standards of in-app fidelity and customer experience. * Work closely with the Product team to resolve menu or technical issues impacting performance. Partner with DME to implement in-app campaigns, sampling initiatives and promotional activations. 4. PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS & REPORTING * Drive data-led decision making through detailed analysis of vendor and product performance. * Build and maintain dashboards to track key KPIs including sales, margin, availability, promotional ROI and range performance. * Deliver structured performance reporting internally and externally to vendors. * Translate insights into clear strategic recommendations and action plans. 5. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION * Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution of vendor plans. * Support resolution of operational issues impacting vendors. * Contribute to broader Hop strategic initiatives and commercial projects. REQUIREMENTS * 1–3 years’ experience in buying, vendor management, account management, commercial roles or similar within grocery, food delivery or hospitality. * Demonstrable experience managing external partners or accounts. * Strong commercial negotiation skills and financial acumen. * Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate strategic insights. * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
About the Team Deliveroo's Risk & Insurance team protects and strengthens our business by managing corporate insurance programmes and mitigating risk across programme management, claims operations, and risk assessment. We operate at the intersection of risk, legal, finance, and operations to support business growth across every market we enter. About the Role As an Insurance Manager, you'll lead risk management initiatives ensuring our insurance programmes align with business growth. You'll manage programme renewals, assess and mitigate risk across our business verticals, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive resilience as Deliveroo continues to scale internationally. This is an individual contributor role at the outset, with the expectation of building and leading a small team as the function grows. Reports to the Director of Risk & Insurance, based in London. What you'll be doing * Own and manage Deliveroo's international insurance programme including workers compensation, general liability, property, and specialty lines across all territories. * Lead annual renewal cycles: programme structuring, data preparation and submission, carrier and broker engagement, coverage benchmarking, and binding. * Review contracts and define insurance requirements for new verticals, products, and partnerships - assessing risk and setting coverage standards for new business initiatives. * Manage certificates of insurance (COIs) for events, partnerships, and external engagements. * Oversee vendor onboarding, NDAs, and insurance requirements for third-party relationships. * Build and maintain carrier relationships in the London market; represent Deliveroo and Wolt programmes directly with underwriters. * Produce clear risk reporting and programme analysis for senior leadership; process and interpret actuarial and renewal data. * Partner with legal, product, operations, and commercial teams to identify and quantify emerging risks as the business evolves. * Apply AI and analytical tools to risk modelling, coverage analysis, and programme benchmarking. Requirements Essential * Insurance industry experience - whether in broking, in-house risk management, or a combination. Broker background from a major firm preferred. * Experience reviewing insurance contracts, policy documents, and coverage terms - with the attention to detail to spot gaps and challenge language. * International market knowledge beyond the UK alone. * Commercially minded: able to translate complex insurance concepts for non-specialist stakeholders across legal, finance, and operations. * Strong document creation and presentation skills; able to build carrier decks and communicate programme position clearly. * Proficient with AI tools and data analysis. * Ability to work independently and take decisions without day-to-day oversight. Desirable * Experience with, or genuine understanding of, platform and gig economy business models and the associated risk profile. * CII qualification (Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII) or equivalent professional accreditation. * People management experience, or demonstrable readiness to build and develop a small team. * Exposure to captive structures, self-insurance layers, or corporate programme design.
