Job title: Senior Product Designer Location: London (Hybrid — min. 3 days in office) ABOUT XYZ REALITY ────────────────────────────── XYZ Reality are the creators of the world's first and only engineering-grade Augmented Reality solution, purpose built for the construction industry. Not only have we created this holographic technology, that sits within The Atom — a smart, site-safe headset/hardhat — but we implement it on projects, utilising the power of AR to ensure that all schemes are completed in line with delivery timescales and budgets. XYZ has grown to over 100 staff across the UK, US & Europe and is working with Mission Critical organisations & construction companies to successfully deliver major projects. THE ROLE ────────────────────────────── As a Senior Product Designer, you'll own and shape key experiences across our XR headset and web platform. You'll create tools used in high-pressure construction environments, where clarity, speed, and accuracy directly impact cost and delivery. You'll turn complex BIM and construction workflows into intuitive, effective experiences, connecting planning in the office with execution on site. You'll lead design from early discovery through to delivery, working closely with Product, Engineering, and Hardware teams. This is a hands-on role with significant influence over product direction, interaction paradigms, and how spatial computing and AI are applied in practice. We expect you to work AI-natively — using AI tools as a core part of how you research, prototype, and iterate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ────────────────────────────── • Design end-to-end experiences across XR headset, web platform, and supporting mobile tools — leading complex features from discovery through to delivery. • Translate complex construction workflows into intuitive, effective tools; explore and define spatial (3D) interaction patterns. • Design dashboards, data visualisations, and collaboration features, contributing to and evolving a cross-platform design system. • Use research and testing to inform decisions and validate solutions in real-world environments. • Use AI tools across the design process — prototyping, research synthesis, ideation — and share effective practices with the team. • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Hardware teams throughout delivery. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ────────────────────────────── • Strong experience designing digital products in cross-functional teams, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work. • Excellent UI and interaction design skills, with experience across multi-device products and design systems. • Proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping methods. • Hands-on use of AI tools in your day-to-day design workflow, with good judgement about where they add and don't add value. KEY EXPERIENCE & SKILLS ────────────────────────────── • Comfortable using research and data to guide design decisions and validate solutions. • Strong communication and collaboration skills across product, engineering, and hardware disciplines. • Curiosity and drive to explore new tools and approaches for complex, real-world problems. • Experience in XR / AR / spatial design — desirable but not required. • Background in B2B, SaaS, or data-heavy products; familiarity with construction, BIM, or CAD tools. • Experience designing AI-powered product features (assistants, automation, ML-driven UX) or AI-assisted prototyping tools (e.g. Cursor, v0, Claude). BENEFITS ────────────────────────────── 🏝️ 25 days annual leave + public holidays 🩺 Private healthcare with Vitality 🎄 Christmas shutdown days on top of leave allowance (2–4 per year usually) 🚇 Office located within a 5-minute walk from Angel station 🏠 Hybrid working 🪙 Biannual salary reviews 🥳 Summer & Christmas staff parties 🍣 Free lunch bought in and after-work gathering/drinks every Thursday in the office 💰 Employee referral scheme 🚲 Cycle to Work scheme 🚀 Make a real-world impact of revolutionising the construction industry
