The team
We are the Risk team responsible for managing the credit risk of Liberis’ portfolios, which include designing effective new
strategies, managing the credit quality of our products across geographies, and providing specialist credit risk advice to the
business.
The Risk team is based in London and covers Risk analytics, Decision Science, Underwriting and Collections. Our mission is to grow
Liberis profitably to become the leading embedded business finance provider and we are now looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to
join us on this journey.
The role
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems through data and analysis. This is an ideal role for an analytical
thinker who is naturally curious, enjoys investigating trends and identifying opportunities, and is motivated by seeing their work
influence real business decisions.
You'll be comfortable taking ownership of projects - framing problems, conducting deep analysis, developing recommendations and
working with stakeholders to implement change. While experience in credit risk is beneficial, we're primarily looking for an
individual with strong analytical capability, commercial thinking and a track record of turning data into actionable insights.
Reporting to the Risk Manager, you'll help shape Liberis' credit risk strategy by delivering analytical insights, developing
portfolio monitoring frameworks and driving strategic initiatives across our global products. You'll work closely with teams
across Risk, Data Science, Analytics, Product, Pricing and Commercial to ensure our lending decisions support sustainable growth
while remaining within our risk appetite.

At the heart of the Risk function, our focus is to deliver high-quality instant decisions and pricing strategies for our customers around the world. Risk team is a global team covering Portfolio Analytics, Credit and Commercial Strategy, Underwriting and Collections. We're on a mission to grow Liberis into the world's leading embedded business finance provider, and we're looking for a Senior Credit & Commercial Strategy Analyst to help us make that happen! The role You'll design world-class decisioning and pricing strategies that deliver value to both our customers and Liberis. This is your chance to work on diverse projects that aim to fund as many customers as possible while staying within our risk appetite and to help us achieving our ambitious commercial goals. We're looking for someone with experience in an analytical role who can use data to solve business problems, influence decision-making, and deliver meaningful commercial insights. What you’ll be doing * Lead the development and optimisation of global decisioning strategies * Shape pricing strategy that balances risk, commercial value and customer outcomes * Make a meaningful impact to the business by driving positive outcomes for as many customers as possible * Explore new and current data sources to optimise decisioning and pricing policy * Collaborate with key risk stakeholders to maintain an acceptable risk level in a fast-evolving environment * Represent Risk to wider business; collaborating with Product and Commercial teams to unlock business value * Work closely with the Machine Learning team on the life cycle of predictive model; propose features for future development * Own and continue to improve the monitoring capability for auto-decisioning rules and predictive models What we think you’ll need * 2-4 years of experience in an analytical role * A strong analytical mindset with a passion for turning complex data into insights * The ability to communicate your findings clearly and effectively * A proactive approach to driving initiatives in a dynamic environment * A keen eye for detail without losing sight of the bigger picture * Confidence to work autonomously, while knowing when to seek support * An appetite to understand machine learning models and how they are developed * Proficiency in SQL is required * Strong MS Excel skills are required * GCP experience and Python skills are a plus * Experience with data visualization tool such as PowerBI, Looker. * A solid STEM background is great, but we care more about aptitude than formal education What happens next? The team: Play a critical role in the newly formed Credit & Commercial Strategy team by bringing together Pricing, Decisioning & AI/ML Credit modelling and leveraging a world-class, data-led Credit approach to deliver exceptional outcomes for SMEs and partners. The role: Own the development of central pricing & decisioning capabilities including unit economics tracking and projections, yield targets and analytics and frameworks, decisioning monitoring, evaluation and testing frameworks, and scalable tooling for pricing and decisioning operations. The role will provide independent evaluation of existing and emerging risks, taking a proactive approach towards management and mitigation of risks identified. While a second line of defence, the individual will work closely with investment teams and portfolio management teams to understand risk profiles and how these develop as portfolios mature. They will ensure that capital allocation aligns with each fund's stated investment strategy, LPA limits and investment restrictions, internal soft targets, and regulatory requirements. The individual will produce risk analytics for review and discussion with investment teams and portfolio management teams, with results used to improve investment outcomes for investors. There will be continued development of current tools that will ultimately allow Pantheon to further improve risk analytics to enhance monitoring of our portfolios. The role will support the development of the risk framework, taking ownership of the build-out of risk processes and tools. Key Responsibilities Manage and monitor investment risk across Private Credit (Primaries, Secondaries and Co-investments), involving: * Portfolio management oversight, including adherence to LPA limits, internal soft targets, and relevant regulatory requirements. * Understanding of investment processes and portfolio construction through regular interaction with investment teams * Attending Investment Committee(s) for relevant area * Assessment of any changes to internal portfolio limits/targets against its risk profile * Ongoing development of analytical tools to assist better portfolio monitoring as determined by Group needs and requirements * Supporting the continuous refinement of the oversight model and process * Reporting on portfolio management activities and presenting the results to the appropriate governing body (eg Risk Committees and Fund/AIFM Boards) and stakeholders. In-depth risk reviews of deals/portfolios as appropriate * Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and Pantheon policy (including reporting compliance risks and maintaining appropriate standards of conduct) Skills and Experience Required * Deep understanding of Private Credit investment dynamics * Strong numerical and analytical skills such that the individual can collate, interpret and analyse portfolio, risk and performance data * MS Office, especially Excel including basic VBA. Experience with Bloomberg terminal considered an advantage.
