You will join the Network Engineering function responsible for the design, reliability, and optimisation of QRT’s wide-area network. The team supports large-scale routing infrastructure and collaborates closely with stakeholders across operations, systems engineering, and automation to ensure robust connectivity for global research and trading activities. Your Future Role within QRT * Operate, troubleshoot, and enhance large-scale WAN environments to ensure availability and performance. * Design, implement, and support MPLS-based solutions * Configure and maintain routing services across multiple BGP address families. * Design, implement, and troubleshoot multicast services using technologies such as MVPN. * Analyse and validate MPLS label operations and end-to-end forwarding behaviour. * Support TCP/IP-based services and traffic flows across a multi-site network footprint. * Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, including design artefacts and operational procedures. * Collaborate with engineering and operations stakeholders to progress projects and BAU activities. * Act as an escalation point for complex network issues requiring deep technical investigation. Your Present Skillset * Strong operational experience with MPLS environments. * Deep knowledge of: * BGP (including EVPN, VPNv4, IPv4) * MPLS forwarding and label distribution * Multicast and MVPN * Proficiency with at least one major routing platform (e.g., Arista, Cisco). * Proven ability to troubleshoot complex MPLS, routing, and forwarding behaviour. * Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, QoS, routing protocols, and traffic engineering concepts. * Experience working in environments with strict availability and reliability requirements. * Useful additional experience includes: * Network automation (e.g., Python) * Model-driven networking * CI/CD concepts applied to network configuration * Telemetry and streaming-based monitoring approaches QRT is an equal opportunity employer. Your future role within QRT: The successful candidate will join the global infrastructure team at QRT and you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the QRT Network Infrastructure and Automations for the firm. We implement a strict IAC (Infrastructure as Code) mindsight at QRT, and therefore it is crucial that any candidates must be able to demonstrate operation of complex infrastructure at scale, which have been delivered through a software and automation driven mindset. The team will be focused on maintaining the service availability, reliability, and security of the platform. Developing observability tooling, self-healing/event driven automations, and performing troubleshooting activities. Providing on-going support and operational improvements for existing network infrastructure, whilst building our capability to operate a high-performance compute datacentre. Your present skillsets: * Experience monitoring and resolving incidents across Low Latency LAN, Datacentre LAN, WAN transit, and Internet /cloud connectivity. * Expert troubleshooting skills of network infrastructure and collaborating with vendor support teams when required to perform deep investigation. * Oversight and development of monitoring dashboards, responding proactively to alerts with appropriate level of priority. Taking responsibility for continuous improvement of alerting and the overall observability stack. * Running post incident reviews finding opportunities to improve the availability and reliability of our infrastructure offerings. * Delivery of BAU changes through automation wherever possible, working with research and other infrastructure engineering teams in a highly collaborative manner. * Perform trend analysis using various data sources aiming to seek out potential issues, improve correlation and finding capacity concerns. * Defining SLOs to ensure the high availability of network services and infrastructure. * Ability to provide considerable support of network automation and associated tooling such as CI/CD pipelines, orchestration, Ansible, Python, GitOps practices, amongst others. * Be responsible for releasing into production environments by providing high quality reviews of merges and scheduled pushes of changes/features/capabilities. * Initiative to find opportunities to automate high frequency tasks. Leading the effort to deliver a solution alongside Network Engineering, Infra Automation/DevOps and across functions. * You will have good knowledge of infrastructure metric collection and visualisation tooling such as Kibana, Splunk, Prometheus and Grafana. * You will stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our automation and practices remains cutting-edge. * Clear networking knowledge at Cisco CCNP level either through demonstrable experience, or verifiable qualifications. The AWS Cloud Engineering Team provide a scalable, performant and best practice platform for QRT’s application and core teams to utilize in deploying cloud native services. This team is critical in ensuring that applications are built on a strong AWS foundation from the perspective of governance, security and connectivity. Your future role within QRT We are seeking an experienced technologist to work within our AWS Cloud Engineering team to support the growth and maturation of our cloud network. The role is expected to involve the following activities: * Develop and manage our complex global AWS network architecture * Join a dynamic, fast-paced environment with extensive opportunity for personal growth * Use infrastructure-as-code to ensure scale and consistency of the environment * Use automated deployment to ensure that changes can be controlled in an appropriate manner * Explore and onboard new AWS services and features as part of continuous improvement of the AWS platform * Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our network governance and observability practices * Ensure that traffic is observable in a usable fashion * Develop strong, positive relationships with Security, IT and End User teams Your present skillset * 3+ years of experience in a cloud engineering role with a strong focus on AWS * Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals including IPv4 subnetting, TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, HTTP and DHCP * Good knowledge and experience of using AWS networking services to include: VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Direct Connect and Route53 * Demonstratable experience in using Infrastructure as Code and programming languages such as Terraform and Python * Ability to work independently to troubleshoot networking issues using AWS and/or 3rd Party tools * Demonstrable ability to communicate and collaborate effectively as part of a wider team * Desirable to have experience or a willingness to learn in the following areas: * Newer AWS Technologies: CloudWan, Route53 Profiles, Lattice * IP Address Management tooling such as AWS VPC IPAM or Infoblox * Load Balancing: GWLB, ALB, NLB, API Gateway * Security: Firewalls, Shield, WAF * Open Source and Third Party technologies to complement AWS tooling * Logging and Observability: Flow Logs, Cloudwatch, OpenSearch etc * IPv6 architectures on AWS QRT is an equal opportunity employer.
