The Senior Finance Risk and Controls Manager will report to the Finance Director and work with leaders of each Finance function to maintain and manage robust control frameworks over all aspects of internal and external reporting. The role will cover the whole of CFO function (Financial Control, Management Reporting, Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Planning and Budgeting, Tax Reporting, Treasury and Legal).
THE ROLE WiseEnergy is a trusted and established solar asset manager, offering all the services clients require to manage and optimise large-scale solar plants, from development and construction through to long-term operational asset management. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate finance professional to support the delivery of finance asset management services to one of our most important clients in London. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the people they work with, naturally seeks to collaborate and enjoys the buzz of good camaraderie. Although, as with all finance roles, you will need to have exceptional attention to detail. This role is directly client-facing and requires someone with confidence to report the portfolio's performance and to handle client queries as they arise. In other words, you will be a key member of the team who can build and maintain good working relationships across a broad spectrum of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a highly commercial and influential advisor to the clients, playing a pivotal role in ensuring timely reporting and analysis that drives future strategic decision making and value creation. The candidate will most likely have experience within previous FP&A roles and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and proficiency in financial modelling, combined with the ability to manage a team to support you in delivering an accurate and timely service. There is an expectation of consistency and accuracy of outputs, as well as delivering and maintaining a high degree of customer service (internal stakeholders). In view of this, you will be expected to appropriately flag issues and support their resolution through to the end and proactively drive continuous improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The following responsibilities are applicable to the circa 100 SPVs and HoldCo's which are owned by our listed client. Management Reporting * Management of the monthly and quarterly portfolio reporting outputs, consisting of the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and supporting reconciliations * Review of key reporting outputs to the internal client ensuring a high level of governance and accurate reporting * Present and deliver comprehensive portfolio financial results to the internal client, inclusive of regular management reporting and portfolio information included within the Fund's Annual and Interim reports * Responsible for the accounting of complex accounting entries, such as restructuring, acquisition, disposal and joint venture transactions * Close collaboration with other departments on monthly portfolio performance to ensure alignment of cross-departmental information presented Budgeting and Cost Management * Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes, including collaborating with other departments that contribute to the budgeted numbers * Ensure appropriate levels of review and governance are in place * Present and deliver the quarterly fund model to operating budget reconciliation to the internal client, and the budget presentation meeting to stakeholders * Collaborate with Treasury and Debt Management departments to ensure alignment to short-term Cash Model and longer-term Lender Models * Highlight and investigate trends and variances in performance, and flag issues to different departments and stakeholders where financial trends are impacting cash or expected to exceed budgeted projections Ad-hoc Requests * Performing additional analyses and reconciliations required following presentation of regular portfolio results * Provision of financial information required for due diligence processes * Performing financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives * Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance and highlighting the financial considerations and implications for decision-making. * Lead on coordinating and/or project managing ad-hoc processes such as onboarding and offboarding in relation to acquisitions and disposals. Process Improvements * Define and establish the risk matrix on all reporting outputs, ensuring adequate controls are in place to mitigate the risk of material errors * Identify and implement improvements to processes to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial planning and analysis, and reporting tasks and client outputs * Continuous improvement and enhancement to the efficiency and accuracy of the portfolio budget model and reporting outputs Report Management and Training * Managing and mentoring the Reporting Team. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: * Time management & prioritization skills - things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in English and/or other European languages) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to together well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications. The Role.. The Senior Treasury Manager sits within the Group Finance Shared Service Centre in Milton Keynes and reports to the Group Financial Controller. The role is responsible for the compliance, control and day-to-day management of treasury activities across a complex multinational hospitality group, including group cash operations, bank account governance, banking mandates, treasury administration and consolidated treasury reporting. This role will ensure the Group maintains sufficient liquidity across UK and international entities, operates efficient banking structures, manages financial risk in line with approved treasury, tax and accounting policies, and maintains strong internal controls over banking access, payments and cash movements. The role provides excellent exposure across the business to local finance teams, tax, legal, FP&A, IT, internal audit, external auditors and banking partners. It will also lead and develop a small treasury team of 1-3 people while supporting process improvement, automation and standardisation across treasury activities. Key Responsibilities.. * Own the operational management of Group treasury activities, ensuring processes are controlled, documented, timely and compliant with Group policy. * Lead global cash positioning, short term cash flow forecasting (rolling 13 weeks) and working capital visibility across all local and international entities. Support the Commercial Finance team on medium- and long-term cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning. * Manage the bank account lifecycle, including account openings and closures, banking mandates, authorised signatory updates, KYC packs, bank documentation, online banking platforms and periodic user access reviews. * Maintain robust controls over payments, intercompany funding, cash pooling, sweeping, bank reconciliations and treasury-related master data. * Act as a key relationship partner for all banking partners, supporting negotiation and renewal of banking services, facilities, fees and account structures. * Identify, assess and manage foreign exchange, interest rate, counterparty and liquidity risks, supporting hedging strategies in line with approved tax, accounting and treasury policies. * Manage external debt and facility administration, covenant compliance, interest schedules, guarantees, letters of credit, bank fees and other treasury instruments as required. * Prepare consolidated treasury reporting for the Group Financial Controller, CFO and senior leadership, including cash, debt, short term (rolling 13 weeks) liquidity and forecast accuracy, FX exposures, bank accounts and key control metrics. * Ensure compliance with treasury policies, delegated authority limits, regulatory requirements, internal control standards and audit requirements, including support for internal and external audit workstreams. * Support transformation projects such as bank rationalisation, payment process improvement, payment factory/shared service activities, ERP/TMS implementations and treasury control enhancements. * Own and update treasury policies, standard operating procedures, control matrices and bank-account governance documentation. * Oversee treasury management systems and banking portals, including Kyriba or equivalent TMS, driving automation, standardisation, data quality and system optimisation. * Partner with tax, legal, accounting and local finance teams on intercompany loans, dividends, funding flows and other corporate transactions. * Manage, coach and develop a small treasury team of 1-3 people, setting clear objectives, reviewing performance and building treasury capability within the shared service centre. * Other activities and projects as assigned by the Group Financial Controller or CFO. * Merchant acquiring and card payment acceptance: ownership of acquiring relationships, settlement and chargeback/fee management. * Investment of surplus cash and interest income optimisation within policy * Sanctions and AML screening over payments and counterparties, given the multinational payments base * Treasury accounting under US GAAP and hedge accounting * Board and Audit Committee treasury reporting Experience required.. * You will likely hold a relevant professional qualification such as ACT/MCT or ACA, or have equivalent corporate treasury experience gained in a multinational environment. * Significant experience in corporate treasury, cash management or treasury operations within a fast-paced multi-site or multinational business; hospitality, retail, consumer services or shared service centre experience would be beneficial. * Strong knowledge of liquidity management, cash pooling, banking products, bank account administration, banking mandates, FX hedging, interest rate risk, debt facilities, guarantees and treasury controls. * Proven experience managing a complex portfolio of bank accounts, online banking platforms, KYC requirements, authorised signatories, user access controls and treasury compliance activities across multiple entities and currencies. * Experience preparing treasury reporting for senior finance leadership, with the ability to explain cash, debt, risk and liquidity matters clearly to non-treasury stakeholders. * Hands-on experience with treasury management systems, with Kyriba desirable, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP exposure such as Oracle, SAP or similar platforms. * Demonstrable control and compliance mindset, with experience designing, operating and improving treasury processes, governance documentation and audit-ready controls. * You will need to be confident in dealing with senior stakeholders, banks, auditors and cross-functional teams, with strong written and verbal communication skills. * Previous experience managing or supervising a small team is desirable, with the ability to coach others, prioritise effectively and deliver to demanding deadlines. * The successful candidate will be pragmatic, hands-on and resilient, with strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to improve processes in a complex and evolving organisation.
