Fresha is entering its next phase of global scale, and the Platform team plays a vital role in making that growth fast, safe, and sustainable.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of how our platform and services are built, deployed, and operated. Your focus is clear: remove friction for engineers, reduce operational risk, and ensure the platform scales alongside the business.
Your mission is to ensure engineers always have the right tools, patterns, and infrastructure so they can deliver faster, safer, and with confidence.

The role We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure. Working directly with our Head of Platform Engineering, you will play a key role in shaping the technical future of our product. This position involves a mix of hands-on technical expertise and strategic planning, with a focus on optimizing our systems for scalability, reliability, and maintainability. We are seeking someone with a strong background in building and deploying scalable cloud-native applications on AWS, experience with microservices architecture, and a track record of automating and improving infrastructure processes to improve overall developer experience. Here’s what you will be responsible for · Designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS using technologies including EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, Cognito, S3, and SNS. · Developing and deploying cloud-native applications following microservice design patterns. · Implementing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate deployment and scaling processes. · Automating deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes to ensure rapid and reliable delivery of software. · Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency. · Collaborating with the development team to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications. · Ensuring best practices in security, compliance, and data protection are followed across all infrastructure components. · Mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Your skills & experience Must-haves to be successful in this role · Strong experience in Go or C# programming languages (ideally both). · Extensive experience in building and deploying scalable cloud-native applications on AWS using technologies including EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, Cognito, S3, and SNS. · Experience architecting cloud-native applications following microservice design patterns. · Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. · Deep understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture, and best practices. · Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes or ECS. · Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Github Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. · Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system monitoring. · Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks. · Track record of designing and implementing scalable, reliable distributed, heterogeneous systems. · Deep knowledge of cloud architecture and development best practices, design principles, and patterns. · Experience working with everything from relational databases though to a multitude of NoSQL stores. · Experience working with technologies, including message queues, event streams, authentication, caching, API hosting, containers, lambdas, FaaS patterns, orchestration / workflow engines and search engines. · Strong communication skills—our ideas are nothing if we cannot communicate them. · Analytical mindset with the ability to articulate your thinking. · Ability to work autonomously and within a team, engaging flexibly to develop solutions. Nobody can do everything but here’s a few related things we’re interested in · Experience working with multi-region cloud deployments, designing for availability, resilience and maintainability. · Security best practices and compliance standards in cloud environments. · We are primarily on AWS but experience working with GCP and Azure would be helpful. · Experience with Elastic Cloud, MongoDB, and Temporal orchestration engine. · Experience deploying machine learning systems and particularly LLMs. · Familiarity with Elastic Observability or equivalent observability platforms. · Good understanding of core DevOps concepts (containers, CICD etc). WHY WE NEED YOU Maltego is an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and investigative analysis platform used by security professionals, law enforcement, cyber threat intelligence teams, and investigative journalists worldwide. The platform enables users to collect, correlate, and visually analyse data from many disparate sources, turning large and complex datasets into meaningful, actionable intelligence. As a Senior Platform Engineer at Maltego, you can expect to work on a production‑grade, security‑focused SaaS platform with global users and high availability requirements. WHAT TO EXPECT Key responsibilities include: * Operate and support cloud infrastructure (primarily Azure) for a production-grade SaaS platform. * Manage Kubernetes clusters, including event-driven autoscaling and reliability best practices. * Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management to ensure repeatable, auditable environments. * Design, operate, and troubleshoot CI/CD—especially Azure Pipelines—to enable continuous delivery. * Optimize build and release pipelines for scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. * Operate and troubleshoot enterprise platform components (e.g., API gateways, message queues) in line with existing standards. * Build internal platform tools, automations, and self-service capabilities to reduce operational overhead and improve developer experience. * Participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with product/engineering teams on provisioning, automation, lifecycle management, and safe adoption of AI/ML-enabled tooling. YOUR PROFILE IN SHORT * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience. * 3+ years as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer. * Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure/AWS/GCP). * Experience in operating applications on Kubernetes and integrating tools like Argo CD, Helm, etc. * Practical experience working with applications written in Java, Python, Go, Node, etc. * Coding ability in with one or a similar one of the following: Java, Python, Rust, or Go. * Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting * Understanding Unix/Linux, and optionally Windows operating systems. * Experience working with Infrastructure as Code / Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). * Experience in managing CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.) * Experience with monitoring platforms such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana to comprehend service health and create dashboards; * Understanding of Azure and Hybrid Networking across Kubernetes and Virtualization technology. * Familiarity with data engineering practices and tools.
