The Opportunity We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Electronic Fault Tracing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide first-line technical support for our Control & Protection units – the MACH platform. Your responsibilities include managing and investigating returns and performing fault tracing on circuit boards and electronic units within the GI MACH product scope. This is a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of our technology used worldwide. How You’ll Make an Impact First-Line Support: Address and resolve issues related to MACH product returns. Return Management: Investigate returns from testing, project sites, and internal customers. Fault Tracing: Conduct detailed fault tracing on circuit boards and electronic units, collaborating with our design organization, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Case Administration: Document and manage all cases in our quality tools to ensure proper follow‑up. Testing Expertise: Understand our internal and external test capabilities and know where different tests can be performed. Technology Development: Identify and implement improvements, contributing to technical development and maintaining our strong global positioning. Your Background You have relevant education or work experience within electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field. You have hands‑on experience troubleshooting and working with electronic systems, and you feel confident handling advanced technical tasks. You work independently, take ownership of your responsibilities, and consistently deliver high‑quality results. You have strong analytical skills and approach problem‑solving in a structured way, while also collaborating effectively with others. You can explain technical matters clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and you feel comfortable influencing decisions when needed. You have strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, and can convey technical information without difficulty. In this role you will be part of a new expanding department that will focus on type testing and type approvals within HVDC for Electrical Environment. We are part of Control & Protection for hardware design. We are designing the automation system layout with placement of circuit boards and cable channeling and more, at our sites. Our cubicles have control cabinet layout, consisting of hundreds of circuit boards for measurements, control and calculations. Our system also includes user interfaces such as HMI (Human Machine Interface), diagnostic tools and IT infrastructure and IT security. For this we utilize our in-house developed real-time platform MACH to meet the power industry’s standards. In this position you will have a bigger scope than the actual testing. You will be part of requirements, standards, test setups, evaluating test results and be included in the actual testing. How you’ll make an impact Arrange type testing for cubicles by using third party test institutions but could also be in-house testing. Ensure that test plans have the relevant content in alignment with the business need. Be involved in the test setup and interact with the testing, such as fault tracing. Review test reports. Be part of developing the requirements according to international standards, customer needs and internal needs. Working with international customers. Contribute to process implementation for type testing, but notice Your background Minimum 5-7 years of experience from type testing and type approval. It is highly valued if you have tested equipment based on requirements and standards, especially within electrical hardware. Experience of working with standards and requirements in business environment, such as IEC and IEEE. Knowledge within EMC, climatic tests, mechanical tests and safety. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field such as technical, electrical or mechanical or equivalent work experience. Experience of using measurement devices and testing tools. You are a natural problem solver who enjoys meeting new challenges with a strong ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical challenges. The opportunity Hitachi Energy HVDC is seeking a highly skilled Project Technical Engineering Specialist Professional to provide advanced technical expertise and leadership within complex Offshore Wind Connection projects. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and implementation of Cybersecurity / Networking solutions across various systems in the Tender / Projects. How you’ll make an impact Lead Cybersecurity & Networking design for IT/OT Systems, Such as High Voltage AC, HVDC, CCTV, Telephone, PIDS, PAGA, etc., to established standards and best practices. Provide expert technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept, base design, detail design, supplier documentation review and confirm the deployment and post-implementation. Conduct in-depth technical analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for proposed engineering solutions. Develop and review technical specifications, architectural designs, and implementation plans. Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex technical issues, providing innovative solutions and recommendations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and sales, to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives. Your background You have at least a university degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience from a comparable position Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field). 14+ years of progressive experience in technical engineering roles, with a significant portion in project-oriented environments Proven expertise in at least one specialized engineering domain relevant to Hitachi's business (e.g., industrial automation, power systems, IT infrastructure, railway systems, renewable energy) Strong understanding of system architecture, design principles, and software/hardware integration.
