About the Role
You will take a central role in developing technical solutions within heat exchanger applications in an international industrial environment. The focus is on turning complex customer and business needs into fit-for-purpose solutions that balance performance, manufacturability, and cost. You will work closely with sales, project management, and engineering, and contribute both to active business opportunities and to the long-term development of methods, standards, and product competitiveness.

Job DescriptionYou analyze customer and internal requirements and develop optimized heat exchanger solutions, including thermal design, material selection, and configuration.
You prepare technical proposals and cost estimates with a strong focus on performance, competitiveness, and manufacturability.
You collaborate with sales, project management, and engineering to support tendering and order execution.
You help secure the correct selection and application of heat exchanger technologies in projects and related processes.
You contribute to technical improvements and innovation that strengthen product competitiveness.
You share expertise within the heat exchanger area, for example around thermal calculations, fouling behavior, and hygienic design.
You participate in knowledge-sharing networks and support the development of technical capabilities across teams and regions.
You help improve standards, guidelines, tools, and methods used in application engineering, quotation work, and design.
You support the resolution of technical issues and bring lessons learned into future solutions.
RequirementsSeveral years of experience developing expertise in heat exchanger applications, thermal systems, or process engineering.
Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid dynamics, and industrial process requirements.
University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear and practical solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to complete a pre-employment drug test.
Nice to haveExperience in technical sales support, application engineering, or proposal engineering.
Knowledge of process requirements in food, dairy, beverage, or similar industries.

Your key responsibilities will include: Designing and developing mechanical parts and assemblies, Bills of Materials and component selections tailored for high-performance heat pump systems and its accessories. Creating detailed technical documentation, including 3D models and 2D drawings (experience with PLM tools and SolidWorks is highly valued). Actively contributing to project meetings and reporting progress to product management, ensuring accurate planning, follow-up, and monitoring of all activities within the designated area. Collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure compliance with customer needs, regulatory standards, and the overall product vision and requirements. Exploring and integrating innovative materials and tooling methods, for example within plastics and sheet metals, to enhance product quality, sustainability, and long-term reliability. Designing enclosures for electronics, such as PCBAs and/or similar, by plastic injection molding and/or sheet metal. Working closely with industrial design, taking over A-surfaces, and realizing the CMF specifications. Collaborating with main suppliers and development partners. What you’ll bring to the role Solid experience in mechanical design or relevant technical fields, such as product development and mechanical engineering. B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Design & Product Development, or equivalent. Experience working with 3D tools for designing mechanical components in a 3D environment; SolidWorks proficiency is advantageous. Experience in consumer products involving electronics and embedded software. Experience in testing, reliability, and qualification of systems, either in-house or on the partner side. Proven track record in transitioning designs into mass production, ensuring rigorous quality control and reliability standards. Experience working in the conceptual phase, physical prototyping, hands-on testing, and sustainability. Experience working closely with industrial designers. Proficiency with tools such as PowerPoint or Adobe and the ability to present ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Join Us! About the role We are seeking a driven and innovative Industrial Engineer to join our rapidly scaling heat pump manufacturing operations. As we expand towards producing 50,000 units annually, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, integrating advanced manufacturing systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work cross-functionally to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production as we transition from scale-up to large-scale manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing workflows and production layouts to support scale-up goals. Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and improve throughput. Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to introduce new product lines and production technologies. Lead time studies, capacity planning, and equipment utilization analysis. Support automation projects, including robotics and Industry 4.0 integration. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training documentation for production staff. Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to resolve production bottlenecks or quality issues. Contribute to sustainability initiatives by optimizing energy usage and minimizing material waste in production processes. Experience with CAD software, production simulation tools, and data analysis (e.g., Power BI, Excel, Python, SCADA). Strong understanding of automation, supply chain interactions, and production systems. APR Technologies is a Swedish deep tech company developing high-performance liquid cooling solutions for data centers, space, defense, telecom, and battery applications. Our core technology Rheion™, co-developed with NASA, ESA, and Airbus, controls and redirects cooling liquid flow at chip scale, removing thermal barriers to technological progress while saving energy and enabling higher compute density. We are now looking for a Fluid & Coolant Specialist to join our R&D team in Enköping, Sweden. The role In this role you will design and test fluid handling systems and components, focusing on thermal performance, flow, pressure, and materials compatibility. Key responsibilities: • Evaluate and select fluids/coolants based on thermal, hydraulic, electrical, chemical, environmental, and reliability requirements. • Continuously monitor the market for existing and emerging coolant technologies. • Characterize and assess fluid properties including viscosity, density, thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity, dielectric strength, vapor pressure, and electrical conductivity. • Define qualification methodologies and perform verification testing of new fluids. • Define and execute material compatibility testing with metals, polymers, elastomers, adhesives, coatings, and electronic materials. • Investigate coolant ageing, contamination, corrosion mechanisms, and degradation effects throughout product lifetime. • Define and perform electrohydrodynamic pumping performance testing for new fluids. • Support mechanical and electrical engineering teams in material selection and fluid-related design decisions. • Maintain and continuously develop a database of fluid properties, compatibility data, and test results. • Assess environmental, health, safety, and regulatory aspects of coolant candidates, including sustainability and recyclability considerations. • Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering decisions related to cooling technologies, fluid selection, and system reliability. • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure integrated product performance. Required qualifications: • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or equivalent. • Knowledge of coolant chemistry, electrochemistry, thermophysical fluid properties, and material compatibility. • Understanding of liquid cooling systems, and heat transfer relevant parameters. • Experience in experimental testing and data analysis. • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills. • Fluent in English. Meriting qualifications: • Experience with dielectric fluids, liquid cooling, or molecular pumping technologies. • Experience in coolant qualifications, reliability testing, or material compatibility assessments. • Hands-on experience with pumps, flow systems, and instrumentation.
