We are expanding our market offering through the development of a Data & AI practice and are searching for passionate Data
Engineers to join us. The Data practice complements our capabilities in Experience Design and Product, as well as Software
Engineering and Cloud, further enhancing our ability to deliver comprehensive business outcomes to our clients.
The Lead Data Engineering Consultant will embrace ambiguity whilst leading through active engagements with clients. You’ll work
all the way from discovery to delivery and beyond to solve problems that are at the heart of some of our clients most burning

We are now looking for a Head of AI Engineering to shape and grow our AI capability in Australia. ABOUT THE ROLE This is a hands-on, consulting leadership position that combines modern engineering, product thinking, software architecture and applied AI. You will lead the development of our AI capability — helping clients navigate AI adoption responsibly, improving delivery performance, modernising engineering practices and building scalable, secure, AI-enabled products and platforms. You will play a key role in defining our go-to-market proposition, growing capability, supporting strategic client engagements, and mentoring consultants, while remaining close enough to delivery to influence quality and outcomes. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Practice Leadership & Growth Lead and grow Ippon Australia’s AI capability, shaping offerings, delivery standards, ways of working and market positioning. Grow, mentor, and coach our consultants across software engineering, architecture, delivery and AI. Help define repeatable consulting frameworks, assessment models, accelerators and service offerings. Foster a culture grounded in engineering excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement and practical experimentation with AI. Client & Consulting Leadership Act as a trusted advisor to our leadership team. Translate ambiguous business and technical challenges into pragmatic engagement strategies and measurable outcomes. Support pre-sales, proposals, workshops, discovery engagements and executive conversations. Shape AI-enabled transformation strategies across engineering, product, delivery, and architecture. Delivery Excellence Provide technical and consulting oversight across engagements involving software engineering, product development, architecture, platform modernisation and AI-enabled delivery. Champion modern engineering practices including platform thinking, observability, Devops, CI/CD and test automation. Use evidence-based metrics such as DORA and flow metrics to improve delivery performance and team effectiveness. Help clients balance governance, security, compliance, speed and quality in highly regulated environments. Applied AI Leadership Guide clients in the practical adoption of AI, including agentic workflows, LLM-enabled applications, AI-assisted software engineering and intelligent automation. Partner closely with cloud and data practices to connect AI capabilities with AWS, Snowflake, modern data platforms and enterprise architecture. Support responsible adoption of AI through clear approaches to governance, privacy, security and risk management. Identify pragmatic AI use cases that improve software delivery, customer experience, operational efficiency or product outcomes.
FEQ227R222 Field Engineering, AI/ML Product Specialist As the AI/ML Product Specialist, you will be defining our technical go to market strategy and driving our AI/ML product adoption in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. You will be directly working with customers to guide and influence their data application architecture and decisions. You will be expected to present, demo and pitch Databricks AI/ML product suite and you will be acting as a trusted advisor for senior executives and your in-depth technical knowledge will ensure our customers are successful in leveraging Databricks to solve their business problems. You will be the technical expert to support our field engineering teams internally and you will be expected to help enable the team to understand the key differentiators of our product against our competitors. You will partner with product managers to help to define the product direction based on local knowledge and inform our product strategy with our go-to-market field teams. You will not have any direct reports but will recruit and lead a group of specialists across the field dedicated to scale your impact. You will also be a thought leader externally to the market via speaking at conferences, online webinars, and blog posts. You will meet with customers to communicate the vision and gather feedback. You have expertise in designing and delivering cloud-based Data Visualisation and Analytics Solutions. You will bring your in depth knowledge and experience of building production level data applications leveraging different technologies. You will excel in creating and articulating a compelling value proposition for our customers and enabling Account Executives and Field Engineers to operate effectively using best practices and assets that you own and develop.
