The Deployment Technician works ahead of our Deployment Engineers to get warehouse sites ready for our robots. Travelling across
North America, you will assemble and build robots on site, run initial tests to confirm they are fully operational, survey the
warehouse environment, and verify that the power and connectivity requirements are in place, setting the deployment team up for a
smooth, predictable installation.
This is a hands-on, travel-heavy role and the foundation of a clear career path: over time you will be trained on the full
deployment process and grow into a Deployment Engineer, helping us build a strong, continuous pipeline within the team.
The role involves regular travel to warehouse sites around North America, typically arriving 2–3 weeks ahead of the Deployment
Engineer’s installation visit. It is crucial that you are able to travel for extended periods, often 1–3 weeks at a time.

Position Overview The Deployment Engineer will play an integral role in delivering our products to clients, collaborating closely with the commercial and engineering teams to ensure a seamless sales, integration, and deployment process. This position requires a highly organised and technically proficient individual with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The crux of the role will involve travel around North America to deploy our robots within warehouse sites. It is crucial you are able to travel for 1-2 weeks at a time. Key Responsibilities Qualifications and Requirements * Comprehensive technical understanding of computer systems, with prior experience in autonomous hardware systems or computer vision applications preferred. * Proven hands-on experience with hardware in operational environments, including system assembly, disassembly, and on-site debugging. * Serve as the primary customer contact for the deployment and installation of hardware and software platforms. * Coordinate with customers to plan and schedule installations, incorporating mechanical, electrical, software, and network components. * Conduct on-site visits to execute system setup, configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting in accordance with project specifications. * Develop, maintain, and update installation, deployment, operational, and troubleshooting documentation for both customers and internal stakeholders. * Maintain effective communication with customers to resolve technical issues and ensure successful completion of deployment activities. What we need from you * Strong software debugging and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to address technical challenges effectively on customer premises. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences. * Valid driving license required. Overview: As a Hardware Technician, you will play a critical hands-on role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our robotics lab, shop, and deployments. You will support everything from robot station assembly and fabrication to shipping, inventory, R&D support, and onsite installations. No two days will look exactly the same, and success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed. Your Responsibilities: Shop & Hardware Support · Build, assemble, disassemble, and maintain robotic stations and supporting hardware. · Assist with fabrication of custom parts, mounts, fixtures, and prototypes for R&D and deployments. · Support engineering and deployment teams with mechanical builds and modifications. · Operate shop tools and equipment safely and effectively. · Maintain organized workspaces, tools, and shop inventory. Logistics & Operations · Package, ship, receive, and organize hardware, spare parts, and deployment equipment. · Load and unload shipments and support material movement throughout the shop. · Assist with inventory tracking and replenishment of hardware and consumables. · Prepare systems and materials for customer deployments and demonstrations. Field & Deployment Support · Occasionally travel onsite to assist with installation, setup, and troubleshooting of robotic systems. · Support testing, repairs, and hardware upgrades in both lab and customer environments. · Help troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during builds and deployments. General Execution · Support a wide variety of operational and technical tasks as company needs evolve. · Work closely with engineering and operations teams to keep projects moving efficiently. · Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and highly functional shop environment. Qualifications: Education and Experience · High school diploma, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience. · 1+ years of hands-on experience in a shop, manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, robotics, warehouse, or technical environment preferred. · Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment such as drill presses, band saws, grinders, and other fabrication tools. · Experience assembling, repairing, or modifying mechanical systems and hardware. · Mechatronics, robotics, automotive, fabrication, or technical trade background is a strong plus. · Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, low-voltage wiring, sensors, or electromechanical systems preferred. · Experience with welding, machining, CAD, or custom fabrication work is a plus. · Experience supporting field installations, customer deployments, or warehouse operations preferred. · Forklift or material handling equipment experience is a plus. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Field Service & Deployment Technician at Circus, you'll ensure our robotic kitchen systems — and our broader product portfolio as it grows — are installed, tested, and running smoothly at customer sites. Reporting to our Maintenance Lead, you'll be the technical lead on the ground — solving issues, guiding customers, and collaborating with our product, hardware, engineering and Operations teams. As we scale our deployments, this role is critical to making every location launch a success and keeping uptime high across our growing fleet. Your regional focus will center on southern Germany (incl. Stuttgart, Ingolstadt, Munich), with occasional support for deployments and maintenance further afield, also internationally. YOUR DAILY BUSINESS * Own the technical onboarding, setup, testing, and maintenance of robotic kitchen systems and other Circus products at customer sites * Troubleshoot and resolve software, electrical, or mechanical issues on-site * Act as technical point of contact for field escalations, coordinating with our product, hardware, and software teams * Perform machine updates and retrofit installations across the field * Provide professional customer support during and after deployments * Document all work thoroughly, building and improving maintenance processes as the fleet grows * Identify service and support needs and proactively suggest improvements * Support training of operators or new Field Service hires BASE QUALIFICATIONS * 2-3+ years of experience in field service, technical support, or equipment installation * Background in mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical field * Strong technical troubleshooting skills — experience with sensors, robotics, IoT devices, or foodtech equipment is a plus * Professional, courteous, and calm under pressure * Self-reliant, well-organized, and comfortable working independently on-site * Strong communicator with solid stakeholder management skills * Willingness to travel regularly within your region, including short-notice trips to support deployments * Valid driver's license * Fluent in English; German speaking skills preferred.
