THE ROLE We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer focused on AI systems to join our Engineering team. You’ll be one of the first engineers focused primarily on designing, building, and scaling AI agents that power Soris’ core platform. This role is ideal for engineers who have a backend/systems engineering foundation but are now dedicated to specializing in building agentic and intelligent systems. Candidates with a good fit for this role: * Want to own the AI systems that redefine how antiquated systems works. * Have strong backend experience and now want to specialize in AI agents in production. * Thrive in ambiguity, asking questions and solving problems across infrastructure, data, and AI. * Believe in building systems that are secure, deterministic, and human-centered. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Design and deploy AI agents that handle real-world workflows. * Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate AI agents into the core Soris platform. * Build the infrastructure and APIs needed to train, evaluate, and monitor AI agents in production. * Ensure agentic systems are reliable, secure, and compliant with industry regulations. * Contribute across the product lifecycle: architecture, experimentation, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring. * Establish best practices for AI system evaluation, auditability, and safety. * Work closely with external stakeholders to validate that AI workflows solve real user problems. REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years of backend/systems engineering experience (Python, Go, or similar). * Strong background in building agentic systems. * Experience building, deploying, and maintaining ML/AI systems in production. * Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks (LangChain, N8N, Temporal etc). * Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure (AWS is a big plus). * Strong collaboration and communication skills; you can explain trade-offs clearly and align AI goals with business needs. * A builder’s mindset: ownership mentality, bias for action, and curiosity to learn and experiment quickly. NICE-TO-HAVES * Background in highly regulated industries (HIPAA, SOC2, HITRUST, PCI etc). * Contributions to early-stage startups or small teams where wearing multiple hats was essential. * Knowledge of AI safety, deterministic outputs, and monitoring best practices. * Knowledge of security and compliance best practices for handling sensitive customer and financial data. * Experience leading or mentoring others. THE ROLE We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with frontend engineering expertise to join our Engineering team. You’ll work alongside the CTO and other engineers to build Soris’ first MVP. This is a ground-floor opportunity where your work will directly shape the platform, culture, and impact of Soris. Candidates with a good fit for this role: * Are fluent in TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and modern web tooling * Have extensive experience building web applications end-to-end * Want to ship fast, iterate, and own outcomes. * Thrive in ambiguity, asking questions and solving problems across the stack. * Believe in building systems that are secure, transparent, and human-friendly. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Build and maintain scalable web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and related technologies. * Create reusable UI components that will be present in all Soris applications. * Ensure a positive user experience for all types of users, with accessibility in mind. * Work closely with designers to translate high-fidelity designs into polished user-interfaces. * Design and build core AI systems that solve real-world problems. You’ll work alongside the CTO and other engineers to build the infrastructure that allows for rapid experimentation and deployment. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Design and build our staging and production platforms that power our products. * Build scalable and cost-efficient data pipelines for speed and reliability. * Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for full observability. * Automate infrastructure with Terraform and CI/CD workflows. * Work with backend and product teams to align infrastructure with business needs. * Maintain uptime, security, and performance across all environments. REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years of experience in systems, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering. * Strong background with AWS (ECS, EKS or Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch). * Skilled with Terraform or similar IaC tools. * Proficient in scripting languages (Bash) * Experience with CI/CD, container orchestration, and monitoring systems. * Focus on scalability, cost efficiency, and system reliability. NICE-TO-HAVES * Experience with data pipelines or streaming tools like Airflow or Kafka. * Knowledge of SOC2, HIPAA, or other compliance frameworks. * Familiarity with AI or ML infrastructure. * Experience in early-stage startups or small teams.
