Ward Williams is growing and doing things differently.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve doubled in size and built a reputation we’re proud of. We are one of the first consultancies of our
kind globally to achieve B Corp status and have been recognised with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.
That reflects not just what we do, but how we work.
We deliver projects that matter, helping to shape smarter, more sustainable environments, with a focus on creating a positive
impact for our clients, communities, and the wider environment.
But what really sets us apart is how we operate as a business.
At Ward Williams, we work within a Partnership model built on custodianship. Our senior people take real responsibility for the
direction of the business, not just the projects they deliver. It’s about contributing to something bigger, supporting those
around you, and leaving a positive legacy for the next generation.
We also believe that great work comes from different perspectives. You’ll be encouraged to bring new ideas, challenge thinking,
and approach projects with curiosity and imagination, always looking for better ways to deliver for our clients.
Just as important is how it feels to work here. We create an environment where people can be themselves, speak openly, and build
genuine relationships. It’s a culture built on trust, collaboration, and authenticity, where people are supported to lead in their
own way.
As an Associate Partner, you’ll have the freedom to take ownership, build lasting client relationships, and help shape both the
projects you work on and the future direction of the business.
At Ward Williams, you’re not just joining the team. You’re helping define what comes next
We’re looking for an established Quantity Surveyor operating at Associate level to join our growing Oxford team. This is an
opportunity to bring your experience into a business where you’ll have real visibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a
meaningful impact within a supportive and ambitious environment.
At Ward Williams, our values shape how we work every day.
Impact – You want to be part of something that matters and care about creating positive change for clients, communities, and the
environment.
Imagination – You’re curious and open-minded, always looking for new ideas and better ways of doing things to benefit our projects
and the people we work with.
Authenticity – You’re honest, genuine, and collaborative, and you value a culture where people are true to themselves and their
purpose.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in a construction consultancy environment, who is confident managing projects,
building client relationships, and taking ownership of delivery. You’ll be at a stage in your career where you’re ready to step
up, broaden your experience, and continue developing your profile.
You’ll be working on high-quality projects across a diverse mix of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, health,
heritage, and both public and private sector schemes. This variety gives you the opportunity to take on greater responsibility,
build well-rounded experience, and progress within a supportive and growing team
Our Oxford office is growing, and this is a unique opportunity to come in and help shape it.
You’ll be the first Quantity Surveyor in the office, working alongside a strong team of Project Managers, with the opportunity to
establish and grow the QS offering as part of a wider, well-established business.
This isn’t about fitting into an existing structure. It’s about helping to build it. You’ll have the autonomy to lead delivery,
develop client relationships, and influence how the QS function evolves in the region, while being supported by experienced
colleagues across the wider Ward Williams network.
It’s a role that offers something different. The backing, credibility, and resources of a national consultancy, combined with the
visibility, flexibility, and opportunity that comes with being part of a growing office.
You won’t feel isolated. You’ll be connected to a wider team of Quantity Surveyors across the business, with access to support,
knowledge, and collaboration, while still having the space to make your mark locally.
We’re looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of projects from start to finish, bringing their expertise to the
table and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.
You’ll have a strong understanding of cost management and project delivery, with the commercial awareness to balance quality and
value across a range of schemes.
You’ll be comfortable working with contracts and navigating the challenges that come with complex projects, managing risk,
building relationships, and keeping things moving in the right direction.
Just as important is how you work. You’ll be a clear communicator, proactive in your approach, and someone who builds trust easily
with clients and colleagues alike.
MRICS is important, or you’ll be actively working towards it.

valued not just for what they do, but for who they are.
Spend on technology is one of the biggest items in an enterprise CFO’s budget, second only to headcount. Traditional procurement is one of the most frustrating, friction-filled bottlenecks in modern businesses. A single purchase routinely stalls for months, drowning in endless email threads and dragging in teams from Finance, Legal, Security, and IT. Vertice is the world’s first Intelligent Procurement Platform aiming to eliminate this chaos. By combining automated agentic workflows, deep AI insights, and a global network of expert negotiators, we empower enterprises to buy smarter and scale at pace. The market response has been unprecedented: * $75bn+ in spend processed across our platform. * 20% savings consistently delivered to our customers. * 70% reduction in standard enterprise procurement cycles. * 13X revenue growth achieved over the last two years alone. Founded by serial technology entrepreneurs Roy and Eldar Tuvey, who have successfully scaled and exited two category-defining platforms and created $600M+ in enterprise value, we are backed by over $100M in Series C funding from tier 1 global investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, 83North, and Lakestar. We were recently recognized as the #2 fastest-growing company on the Sunday Times' Tech 100 and named the fastest-growing startup in the UK and Ireland by the FT’s Sifted. With headquarters in London and hubs in New York, Brno, Sydney, and Johannesburg, we are fundamentally reshaping the global B2B economy. THE MISSION At our stage of growth, the people we bring into the business are the single biggest determiner of our success. We believe that the trajectory of our company isn’t fully determined by our product roadmap or our capital, but by the calibre of who we bring into the team. We are looking for an ambitious Strategic Talent Associate to act as the primary architect of our future team. This isn't a traditional recruitment role; it is a high-stakes commercial and operational challenge. You will work directly with our senior leadership team to solve the most difficult problem in business: identifying, attracting, and convincing the best talent to join us. You will focus on global roles including EMEA, US and APAC, and you’ll be partnering with hiring managers across a number of different business areas: Customer, Client Delivery, Product and Solutions. We see this role as a “tour of duty:” after starting out in the Talent team, you will be well prepared to either take a traditional recruitment role, or perhaps to work in more generalist operations roles at Vertice. WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT Most traditional recruiter roles are numbers games. This role is about balancing quantity with quality. You will be treated like a Founder’s Associate, tasked with building the systems, the narrative, and the outbound engines required to win over people who aren't even looking to move jobs. You will have a front-row seat to how a hyper-growth scale-up is built, operating at the intersection of psychology, data, and strategy. If you want to understand how a successful company wins, there is no better vantage point than the one that selects and assesses the people entering it. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Partner with Vertice leaders: You will work with Vertice heads of department on workforce planning and assessing great candidates. * System Architecture: Instead of "searching" for people, you will build automated and repeatable AI-assisted systems to map out entire industries and identify the highest-potential individuals before our competitors do. * Influence and Negotiation: You will act as the face of the company for elite candidates. You will master the art of the pitch, learning how to align our mission with the personal ambitions of world-class talent, negotiating the right terms of their entrance. * Data-Driven Decision Making: Treat the hiring funnel like a conversion funnel. You will analyze high-signal data to ruthlessly eliminate friction in our interview processes and improve candidate experience. * Culture Guarding: You are the gatekeeper. You will design assessment frameworks that ensure we never compromise on our values, even during periods of hyper-growth. WHO YOU ARE * Smart Generalist: You are likely a high-performer from a top-tier consultancy, a former founder, or operator from a VC-backed startup. You care about outcomes, not job titles. * High IQ + High EQ: You can dive deep into technical or operational requirements one minute, and then navigate a complex, nuanced negotiation about a candidate’s motivations the next. * Process Obsessed: You hate inefficiency. When you see a manual task, your first instinct is to build a system or find a tool to automate it. * Relentless Hustle: You are "hungry" and proactive. You don’t wait for applications to hit an inbox; you go out and create opportunities through sheer grit and creativity. * Clear Communicator: You can write compelling narratives and speak with a level of authority that commands respect from senior stakeholders. WHY JOIN US We don’t care about your background in recruitment, we care about your ability to solve problems. This is an opportunity to own the most critical function of a scaling tech company. You will be given immense autonomy, a direct line to leadership, and the chance to build a legacy through the team you assemble. If you want to move fast, work with the smartest people you’ve ever met, and have a disproportionate impact on our company's value, we want to talk to you. #BI-DNI Final things to note Vertice is an equal opportunities employer, although you must be legally able to work in the specified region of the job. Any personal data you provide will be processed in accordance with Vertice's privacy policy and applicable data protection law. We use AI-assisted tools to help us review and assess applications more efficiently. These tools support our Talent team but do not make hiring decisions autonomously. You have the right to contest any AI-assisted decision, and exercise your data subject rights by contacting us; please follow the instructions in our privacy policy. We like to deal directly with our candidates so no agencies please! If you aren’t sure this job applies to you, feel free to send your CV to careers@vertice.one, and we’ll be happy to take a look and see if you could be a good fit anywhere else in our business!
