Staff Integration Engineer (Backend & Architecture) About the Role This is a senior/lead role and a critical opportunity to anchor our newly formed internal Integrations team. You will design, architect, and govern the resilient backend services that connect the Showpad platform with leading SaaS ecosystems. You will be the primary technical gatekeeper, ensuring all backend architectures meet our stringent enterprise standards for security, scalability, and observability. Key Responsibilities * Architectural Leadership: Author and submit Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for all new integrations, ensuring alignment with event-driven, asynchronous models. * Backend Engineering: Develop isolated, decoupled microservices strictly utilizing TypeScript and Go. * Cloud Infrastructure: Provision resources exclusively using AWS CDK (Infrastructure as Code) across multi-region environments. Implement and manage DynamoDB and Amazon Aurora RDS databases. * Resiliency & Eventing: Build highly idempotent outbound APIs with exponential backoff algorithms. Architect strictly asynchronous webhook ingestion pipelines using AWS EventBridge and SQS. * Enterprise Observability: Instrument rich telemetry using OpenTelemetry standards. Design and deploy Datadog Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) dashboards to monitor crucial Service Level Indicators (SLIs) like availability, latency, and throughput. * Security & Compliance: Ensure all services strictly enforce tenant isolation, align with GDPR data minimization strategies, and adhere to SOC 2 Type II cryptographic standards. * Operational Readiness: Guide the team through strict Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR) and ensure all CI/CD quality gates are successfully navigated prior to production releases. About You * You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, plus 6+ years of software engineering experience. * You possess deep expertise in TypeScript and Go. * You have extensive experience with AWS, specifically serverless architectures, CDK, EventBridge, SQS, and Secrets Manager. * You are an expert in designing decoupled, event-driven architectures and understand the critical trade-offs of distributed systems. * You are highly proficient in application observability (Datadog, OpenTelemetry, structured logging, distributed tracing). * You have working knowledge of utilizing AI-first coding assistants.
