The Protective Intelligence team within Security helps protect Coinbase's people, assets, and reputation through intelligence, due diligence, and geopolitical risk analysis. As the team scales alongside Coinbase's global growth, this Strategic Intelligence Manager role serves as the individual-contributor expert and directly responsible individual (DRI) for the Strategic Intelligence program. You'll set the strategic direction for the program, lead high-impact due diligence for M&A and executive-level decisions, and deliver forward-looking geopolitical assessments that shape how Coinbase operates and grows around the world. What you'll do: * Own the strategic direction and governance of Coinbase's Strategic Intelligence program, serving as the recognized subject-matter expert across reputational due diligence, geopolitical intelligence, and first-party diligence. * Lead Reputational Due Diligence for mergers and acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships, producing complex risk findings that inform Corporate Development and executive decision-making within defined SLAs and quality standards. * Deliver forward-looking geopolitical intelligence, assessing how events and crises impact Coinbase offices, personnel, assets, and business strategy, and routing timely assessments to senior leadership, GSOC, Executive Protection, and Business Continuity teams. * Source and establish open and closed-source intelligence streams while building deep relationships with public and private-sector intelligence partners to proactively identify threats targeting Coinbase and the crypto community. * Design scalable, AI-enabled processes that increase program efficiency and reduce cost while maintaining appropriate human-in-the-loop safeguards, and define program metrics that communicate impact to senior leadership. * Mentor analysts, specialists, and contractors, including senior teammates, providing high-signal feedback on judgment, influence, and craft and elevating standards across complex, ambiguous work. Required Skills and Experience: * 6+ years of experience in intelligence, due diligence, geopolitical risk analysis, investigations, or related fields, with recognized expertise in at least one intelligence domain. * Proven track record producing investigation and geopolitical risk reports that have directly informed M&A, investment, or other business decisions at scale. * Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives independently from problem identification through solution delivery, owning a defined capability within a broader program while holding cross-functional partners and vendors accountable. * Communicates complex technical and business risks clearly to senior audiences in written and verbal formats, ensuring stakeholders are rarely surprised by outcomes. * Applies systems thinking to anticipate second-order impacts and designs for long-term resilience and scale across intelligence operations. * Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality. As threat actors become more organized and AI reshapes the security landscape, we need a senior researcher who can operate at the intersection of applied AI, threat intelligence, and cyber operations—someone who can both advance what we know and change how we work.   This is a senior individual contributor role for a researcher who lives at the frontier of AI and cybersecurity. Your primary mission is to research how threat actors are adopting, weaponizing, and exploiting AI; from LLM-powered social engineering and automated vulnerability discovery to real-world attacks against agentic AI implementations. You'll help instrument telemetry to detect adversarial use of AI in the wild, assess emerging risks as AI capabilities evolve, and produce research that keeps Sophos and the broader security community ahead of the curve. As a domain expert in AI threats, you'll also be expected to help drive operational efficiencies across the Insights team, bringing the tools and techniques you research into our own workflows. You'll have autonomy to ship fast and lead the direction of your pod.   😎 What would YOU be doing? * Own key growth metrics across the funnel — from acquisition through to conversion and early retention — and drive measurable, sustained improvement. * Define and execute a roadmap that balances quick wins with long-term structural improvements to the customer experience. * Partner closely with engineering and design to ship experiments and features at pace — you know how to move fast without sacrificing quality. * Use data, customer research, and qualitative insight to identify the highest-leverage opportunities in the funnel and build a clear case for prioritisation. * Leverage AI tools to accelerate your own work — from writing specs, to running analyses, to generating test variants — and embed AI-powered features into the product where they create real value for users. * Tell compelling stories with data — whether you're presenting to the exec team, aligning engineering on priorities, or writing a one-pager that builds momentum. * Run structured experiments: define hypotheses, design tests, measure impact, and translate findings into product decisions. * Lead your squad toward outcomes, not outputs — you set the destination, remove blockers, and create an environment where the team does their best work. * Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to understand friction points across the funnel and translate customer insight into product improvements. * Monitor key metrics weekly, build dashboards, and maintain a shared view of funnel health across the organisation.   😉 What do we need from YOU? * 5+ years of product management experience, with a demonstrable track record of driving growth or conversion metrics at a B2B or marketplace company. * Strong bias for action — you default to doing, not deliberating. You ship, learn, and iterate. * Exceptional storytelling and communication skills — you can distil complex data into a clear narrative and align stakeholders at every level. * Proven ability to collaborate at speed with engineering and design teams — you know how to build trust quickly and keep cross-functional work moving. * Deep comfort with data: you're proficient in SQL or equivalent, confident building dashboards, and able to design and evaluate A/B experiments. * Experience using AI tools to accelerate product work — whether for research, spec writing, analysis, or feature ideation. * High energy for new problems — you're energised by ambiguity, not paralysed by it.
